But masculinity is the thing being weaponized in a toxic way. Why wouldn't we call it that?

We call it toxic masculinity because masculinity is the thing being weaponized in a toxic manner.

The denizens of twitter are batshit crazy REGARDLESS of their gender. Terrible example.

Its posts like these that prove this sub is just a thinly veiled anti woman hate group. Get over this persecution fetish and get a life. Fucking losers.

feminism did that, not masculinity Lolwut? This isnt even remotely true. These Gender roles and stereotypes have existed long before the feminist Movement ever entered the scene. Noone is attacking masculinity. Were attacking the notion that you have to be masculine in order to be a "real man". But sure. Go off on how it's all women's fault somehow.

Toxic masculinity is just the notion that you have to be masculine to be a "real man" it can lead to men hurting themselves or others because they need to prove their masculinity.

Nobody's blaming men, were blaming the societal expectations of what a man "should be". Let's not pretend it's just women perpetuating toxic masculinity. I was bullied by other BOYS because I played with barbies. my grandFATHER hit me for crying. Face it. Men are conditioned to reject any notion of what society deems "feminine" even when doing so causes mental anguish, and have been for centuries. The opposite is also true with women.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
