I'm not even in the pickup game anymore; just lurking out of curiosity. I think there was always a bit of bragging to field reports. But a part of the value to the bragging is for others to know what's common or practical. And I don't think it's period shaming to tell she was on her period. He didn't denigrate her for it. My observation is that a lot of seduction is just making a good first impression on a girl that's looking for something and then not fucking up. I would qualify that as "the difficult to obtain is invariably attractive". I would bet that, if you describe three vacations to people: next city over from theirs, same type of city in another country, and Mars, people will think most about and consider trying to travel to the city in another country. The first is easily obtainable, the last is pretty much unobtainable, but the middle one is obtainable, but challenging (even though it may not have that much more to offer than the first).

I'm the same and I find it does hurt a bit having much taller wingmen, especially in a bar. However, outside of the bar scene, it doesn't seem to hurt much. I've been having good success lately with online and social circle stuff. One thing to evaluate is what you bring to the table that they don't. Height is a big benefit when opening, but not as much after that, in my experience.
