Just to disclose - I'm dating and part of a conservative, indian family and social circles where I don't know anyone who's parents aren't together and completely unseparated. It isn't a lot to ask for. He's the only person in our circles with parents like that.

Short hair usually looks too severe, but softening it up with waves, curls, or volume will help make it look less severe! I had a similar experience with a haircut gone wrong and my 2-inch curling iron became my bff!

Hey! Easy outfits are usually a pretty blouse, with some nice (form fitting, no rips, clean) jeans in either dark or white wash. ALWAYS WORTH IT! I have tried to dress at least put-together (no college gear, no sweats, no athleisure unless it's to the gym) and it makes a huge difference on how professors, men, everyone treats me. Especially in college, it's so refreshing for guys to see a girl who cares what she looks like. And, it never really takes that much longer to get ready either. One group where this isn't true is indian/asian women. I definitely have become more feminine. I used to be a big t-shirt, flip flops, and athletic shorts kind of girl (even at the mall, movies etc), but now, I wouldn't even wear that stuff to the gym in front of my boyfriend.

In Hinduism, and in Indian culture, particularly, women are all treated like goddesses. There is a huge focus for girls and young women (especially Indian-American girls such as myself) on becoming "marriage material" early on. Drinking, riding CC, partying etc are not encouraged WHATSOEVER. Virginity is praised for boys and girls. We are taught to focus heavily on our education and to go into a stable career. Reputation, femininity, chastity - everything red pill teaches!

I'm 18, and the reason I didn't get into that feminist nonsense is because my mother consistently showed me examples of pretty, successful, charming, women in our family/friends groups who married really great men - none of them did any "pussy power" garbage. I soon became disgusted with the image of the fat, angry feminists we see nowadays, and I turned out fine! Show her women who she'd like to be like someday, and point out their lack of feminism.
