that premise is even stupider though?

Wait, so my balls and dick aren't used to keep the species alive? My mistake. These 2 sentences are just fucking retarded. Male bodies absorb blades and bullets the same as females - badly.

Honestly the post is a bit of a cluster fuck and it was unclear the amount of time he was in the relationship. 1 month is like casual dating for most people I think.

If anyone is still not convinced that women are untrustworthy - take a look at mother Theresa. Christopher Hitchens has a book out on her actual life. She essentially opened hospitals, refused to give anyone treatment, let these people die in the building and put none of the money she collected (a metric fuck tonne) into actually helping the sick. All her money went into the church.

If you've progressed to arm around waist/shoulder chances are you're going to get green lights for the remainder of the night. An f-close is a bit of a challenge, but not impossible. If you're red lighted after a few attempts to put your arm around her, it's time to move on imo.

This is a good FR; I want to add something - if you've been on a few unsuccessful dates and are stumped as to why nothing is working, it's likely because you don't emphasize nonverbal communication enough. Words are about 10% of my dates - my body speaks 90% of the time. Always sit next to your date, never in front/across a table. When you laugh together touch her (brush her legs/arms). Escalate to putting your arm around her shoulder. When you change venue, put your hand on her back as you cros…

I agree with this but for some guys they've never done any of it. A guy who reads a post about how to increase physical contact is going to do better on a date than the guy who doesn't know how important touch is. It's all relative. Also - we've all seen some truly autistic guys who clearly have no idea what they are doing on a date - posts like this help individuals avoid being that autistic mess.

The biggest take away from these 2 posts is that flirting is more physical than verbal. You can't expect to get close to a woman if you've never touched her. Think of it as a scale from 0-100. You start at 0 and need to do small upsells to get to 100 (100 being sex). Don't speak to her, fucking touch her. Rub her legs, stroke her back, pinch her ass. I think the most effective way to get your first touch is placing your hand in the small of her back as you cross a road. You're guiding her and no…

Sorry, let me clarify - I'm saying that an fMRI is commonly used in neurological testing because we can see blood/oxygen levels of the brain, thus allowing us to see physical disorders, etc - not commonly used in diagnosis of depression. Diagnosis of depression is commonly clinical, often it involves personal history, situation context, psychological tests and a clinical observation.

I agree - but at the same time psychology requires more research into positive and negative affect (optimism vs pessimism) to really understand if some people are just happier than others (there is some empirical data to suggest such a thing). And then further, we'd need more research into whether or not certain interventions can raise the overall level of happiness of more pessimistic individuals. All very complicated, and psychology is so young we have much to discover yet.

This is what I wanted to read. I'm also skeptical of posts about mental health in this sub because TRP doesn't like therapy or psychology for whatever reason. OP's entire post was a very large anecdote with no references to research. While I can agree on the point of mindfulness therapy (and it can be self-administered), I hate how just because a post is formatted well and has some face validity, it receives a lot of positive attention. I'm an advocate of much of TRP, but the view of mental heal…

I imagine a psychologist or psychiatrist diagnosed him - perhaps there was a neuropsychologist that also ran a neurological test (fMRI is quite common). You can see brain abnormalities that would indicate chemical imbalances or neurological pathing issues.

Also, there is an argument gaining traction that medication is a cover-up. When individuals stop taking their meds, they slip back into depression - therapy (TRP seems to hate the idea for whatever reason) is actually extremely useful here. Teaching a depressed individual the correct ways to think fixes an underlying behavioural/cognitive issue whereas taking medication just masks this issue. Saying all this, I haven't even touched on the currently unknown side effects of prolonged use of antide…

When I was in high school, it was nigh impossible for me to study with that burning blood in my veins, I had so many immediate desires and ideological squabbles that school just seemed fucking retarded and unimportant--and it is. I'm not sure I agree with this. This is more an impulse/attention control thing than anything else. When I had finals, etc., I was studying material, I had the ability to focus - I didn't make an excuse that I couldn't focus on study because I wanted to fuck girls. Now,…

Mental illness is real, there is a science that has existed (officially) for 150 years. The single purpose of that strain of science is to discover the biological, physical and psychological underpinnings of mental illness and mental health. The idea that mental disorders aren't real is a contributing factor that worsens the symptomology of the same disorders people are ignoring.

What you're saying might have some merit, but empirical evidence quite literally tells us that depression has a physiological underpinning that goes beyond eating healthy food, sleeping better and exercising. Certainly, those activities can aid helping you to feel better, but depression is a serious mental illness, and there are experts on mental health that can help individuals to overcome the disorder with therapy and medication or some combination therapy using both.

I would suggest reading some actual empirical evidence - I know NLP is discredited because I read about it from an actual study. Darren Brown isn't a Psychiatrist or Psychologist, nor a Doctor in any form. The strategies he discusses are likely similar to NLP in that it's a placebo rather than a strategy based in empirical evidence.

Not qualified as a psychologist or anything but seriously, statistics don't prove that people are innately unhappy. To make such a sweeping claim is ridiculous (especially considering he didn't provide the actual statistical evidence to support the claim). There is literally branches of psychology that operate on the premise that most people are innately happy and good, I've yet to find research suggesting that most people are innately unhappy in the 6 years I've been studying in the field (perh…

Unfortunately, I took a break for about 3-4 months. Recently I have been trying to get back into this sub, but fuck me it's not easy. I left because the sub was becoming this watered down circle-jerk of men's right posts that were just glorified beyond belief. I've always enjoyed the old school posters but much of the new guys bringing content is just shit. So leaving and coming back has only made me feel more detached from this community currently. Not to say this sub won't eb-and-flow back to …
