What are your thoughts on the idea of being a stay at home father and your wife working the 9-5 job? I work in an area/field where I see a lot of stay at home dads and they KILL it. It seems so natural for them, their kids are well behaved, they seem so together and happy. I assume their wives are happy with the work they are doing as well, but I can’t comment because I don’t interact much with their wives.

You know…poorly written erotica overlays with soft core porn. I don’t think anyone prefers it, and it only partially meets the goal of what the user/reader is looking for lol. Thanks for the info on hentai. I don’t have a ton of experience with erotica either, but if I do read it, it’s the well written stuff. The sex scenes exist, but the story could stand on its on.

The question specifically asked why erotica isn’t porn. I said because of character development, and then in my response to your first post I expanded by saying not everything in erotica revolves around sex, which is why it is not, IMO, porn. You are agreeing with my point that porn and erotica are different. Perhaps you could expand on why you believe, despite their differences, erotica and porn are the same.

They both contain characters, but erotica actually expands on the character beyond sex. There are parts of the story that do not involve sex at all. I haven’t ever watched hentai so I don’t know if there is more of a story component. As for men’s emotional connection to porn, I’d argue that is more prevalent in men who are addicted to porn. In that case they are emotional because of their addiction, not because the creator of the pornography they watch made an effort to make the characters relat…

The way I differentiate porn from erotica is as follows: porn has no character development and thus the audience is not invested in the “who” the actor is playing. We don’t delve into their inner thoughts, desires for life outside of sex, future goals, past traumas, etc. With erotica, there is character development so the audience is emotionally invested in the characters. The audience cares about who the character is sleeping with, their motivation for sleeping with this person, how this person…

My wife is adamant that we will not circumcise any male children. Circumcision needs to be seen for what it is, but society is slow to change that which has been normalized. I see this talked about a lot though these days. I think it is becoming a more mainstream opinion and that’s a good thing!

If you knew you had to go through 30 shitty first dates, and then your 31st date would be your soul-mate, you’d go through those 30 dates ASAP. There are a lot of guys out there. At least half are shitty. Get out there and date! Don’t attach yourself to any one man. Women used to date lots of guys at one time until they found someone they wanted to “go steady” with. That’s what you need to do. 26 is not too late. You’re fine. Dump this guy sooner rather than later - work on whatever goals you ha…

Two problems I see with age gap relationships: Financial entrapment. This can happen even with the best of intentions. The older party, wanting to care for their partner, encourages the younger party to rely on them financially. If the relationship sours, the younger party may realize they have let education/career opportunities pass them by because they thought they were financially secure. They may even end up wasting a decade or more of their life that could have been spent establishing their…

This really is an issue the woman should be working on herself. She should not be in a relationship until she has faced her past trauma and worked through it. Now if she has just decided that she wants to wait to have sex with guys, then that is her prerogative, but she needs to be upfront about that. That way the guy can make an informed decision. So two scenarios here: She has sexual trauma she should be working out while single. It isn’t fair to expect a man to be her emotional support during…

Been celebrating my wife all week! And she has been doing the same. We love celebrating each other every chance we get. The fact that there is a designated day just means we get to be so extra for each other - and trust me - we love being extra for each other. Valentine’s Day is pure bliss, and every other day is pretty damn good too!

Women get with average men because they don’t think they deserve any better sometimes. Or they don’t know how to find a “high value partner.” Do you want to be in a relationship with someone who views themselves as unworthy of something better? Someone that has self esteem issues? I was fucking pumped that my future spouse would be getting ME because I knew I was gonna be the best goddamn spouse in the world. People would be so jealous of my spouse because they had me. I feel so good to give my …

When you think about building a life together, you want to build with every tool at your disposal. “Legal marriages” with the government involved give you major benefits. You want to use those benefits to build the best life for your family possible. In today’s day and age you need every advantage.

I had a porn addiction. I’d like to explain my understanding of this addiction as explained by my therapist. There are two ways to use porn: assisting with masturbation which meets a physical need OR using it emotionally (aka when you’re bored, sad, annoyed, stressed) in tandem with masturbation. The second Avenue leads to addiction. Addiction is always emotionally driven. That’s what makes it so “difficult” for him to not watch porn…it is a coping mechanism. If you really want to be with him, h…

I heard a line from a show recently that you might consider using the next time he goes on a long negative explanation of your behavior: “Are you trying to hurt me? Because what you are doing is hurtful.” Don’t say it in a sassy way - just a neutral tone. People need to have things pointed out in the moment sometimes. Also, if you can afford it, maybe you should take adult “cotillion” classes to learn manners, how to sit (and the value of sitting like a lady), or whatever you want to learn in or…

Masturbation and sex are two different things. Masturbation meets a physical need. Sex meets an intimacy/emotional need with the added plus of meeting a physical need. Masturbation does not replace sex. So I wouldn’t care if my wife used any toy or robot to meet her physical need, as long as an emotional connection isn’t being made. Since this is an android in your example, capable of “emotions”, then the chance of an emotional bond forming is too high to risk it. It would be off limits in our h…

Yep I agree that porn is detrimental but not immoral. I also agree that there is a lot of shame put on boys/men for being “manly.” Do you think there is an equal amount of shame put on boys who aren’t “manly” in the traditional way? I think there is. I think societally, there is a lot of shame poured out on people just being who they are and who they want to be. This leads people down a dangerous road where they try to be what society wants instead of getting to know themselves and what they wan…

Honestly I think young boys are the biggest victims here. In your opinion, do you think there is a victim at all with the SW/P industry?

This just feels like the definition of someone who doesn’t know themselves. There may be a good reason for why they don’t know themselves, but I’ll give you this advice...leave them. Unless you are super enthralled by the idea of supporting someone while they get to know who they are. Until someone knows who they are, they are gonna contradict themselves regularly and it leads to frustration for the people around them (especially mature people/people who know who they are). This is why many teen…

I want to comment on your post because I think you make a very good general point that many women on FDS do not understand what FDS is about. I would argue the same goes for men, but that is understandable given A) men likely aren’t trying to get dating advice or any advice from FDS and B) due to the users of FDS being somewhat to largely naïve to the purpose of the sub, the content on the sub can be pretty shitty. I wanted to address the sex worker comment you made because I know this was somet…
