Didn't need to tell anyone that being a financial rock is attractive, especially since some people have such pessimistic views of the economy in general.

Uhhh... I don't usually post here but it looks to me like you are overthinking things way too much that it is a bit odd. Just go ahead and meet her, maybe even more than once, without thinking twice about it. You want this to happen and there is not much conflict associated with the idea at this stage, so feel free to explore. Use the meetings to understand whether she shares your set of principles. Her talking to someone else doesn't mean much so use the meeting to understand her relationship w…

What is being classified as regular exercise and sedentary life style? This post here seems to present both as mutually exclusive but the truth is that many find themselves into an awkward blend of both. Think of a full time pogrammer/gamer/student/sedentary activity making time for a 1 hour gym session every day.

It always cracks me up when I hear people speak about creationism and Christianity in a derogatory fashion. Christianity has encouraged people to follow evolution for a long time now (at least in Europe?) and what about the Jesuits' contribution of discovering the big bang?

The advice of seeking help, especially from a counselor, is obviously very good. Not only was your marriage disrespected but so were your requests. In my opinion there isn't much to do except leave, especially if you don't have children in the picture. You gave him time and now it's time to act. If this was a woman who had an affair, the advice would be unchanged.

What happened to you sucks and is unfair. But if you force a meeting, your relationship, which is already not very good, will get even worse. My advice is to act cold towards her, you are already too good to her, don't give her even more if she is not going to appreciate it or if you are going to force it. If you get a chance to start a new relationship, you should go for it without a second chance and not repeat the same mistakes.

Agreed with this comment. I think it's better for the OP to act a bit cold towards the whole situation- it will benefit his frame (does not make him look weak) and improve relationship (there is a chance for the other person to generate interest).

I'm very happy to see such analysis backed up by science. Too bad it's almost depressing, but I have been a part of the community for enough years that I'm not shocked at all.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
