I mean, imagine a senior editor at a major publication with a comparable level of popularity to HuffPost saying a similar thing about their hiring process, but about having a goal for "less black people." Hell, it would make the front page of HuffPost!

Sexism is a thing. Condescension is a thing. Some people are sexist and therefore treat members of the opposite sex in a condescending manner. Some people are just condescending. If you are being condescended to by someone of the opposite sex and you make an unfounded assumption (based solely on their gender) that their motivation is sexism, then YOU are in fact the sexist.
