I don't understand. What BS? I was answering the OPs question. I am here coz I am interested in relationships and want them to work.

My wife and I married when she was 19 and I was 22. That was 41 happy yrs ago. Smartest decision of my life. Our son was married when he was 20 and she was 25. That was 14 yrs ago. I have lots of other examples of family and friends who married relatively young. I regularly see comments on relationship posts they basically say a couple broke up because they got together too young. I find that to be a ridiculous comment. Age has little to do with it. It's your attitude that matters most. Attitude…

So is it fair to assume that you and your GF don't expect a long term future together? This is an honest question.

So I am old, narrow minded and probably overweight! I am 63 and plan to live well until my 90's. That's 30 yes away. Are you sure I am really old? Why do you say I am narrow minded? Or is that just because you think I am old and so therefore I must be narrow minded? If you think that, and I am not saying you do, then you would be the narrow minded one in this conversation. You refer to me as "you people"! What does that mean? It feels like a dismissive term. "You people"? Perhaps you mean all me…

Hello all I am an old guy. I have a fantastic wife and married for over 40ys. We married at 19 and 22. Our son is 33 and happily married for over 14 yrs. Yes he was 20 when he married. My brother is the same as just about all our friends. I am saying this because I don't get it. Has everyone become more fragile over the last 15 yrs? Has smartphone usage somehow sucked out intelligence or confidence? Of course that's silly. When I started dating my wife I was terrified initially. But we took smal…

There is no doubt that some perfumes on some women do wonderful things to some guys minds. I agree with a previous comment. Men wouldn't usually mention perfume if they are not really interested.

My lovely wife and I have been married for over 40 happy years. We have been pretending for years that we are having an affair. It's just low level silly stuff but fun. We have lots of fun with this. But it's just a part answer to your question. The bigger thing for us is knowing each other's love languages and acting on it deliberately. But the biggest answer is to show deliberate love and respect.

I think your statement is a bit of an over-reach. "Largely"?? I don't see that at all. Yes there is some common threads with that but I see it as young guys who just don't know how to talk to girls/women and a scared about stuffing it up. The truth is that guys behaviour has had a magnifying glass on it for quite a few years and this ratchets up the tension and anxiety for many of these young guys. Their language on these posts doesn't always get the right tone I admit.

Oh yes the alcohol solution. Alcohol has been helping people make wise and sensible decisions for centuries. I hear that alcohol can make you a better singer and dancer. Chicks just love good singers and dancers. Specially ones who got there with alcohol. Pls forgive my sarcasm.

I suggest you come clean and fully abandon the inserts. It's the same as getting a comb over when you start to go bald. Don't do it. Embrace your height. Be the authentic you. Yes it will be initially difficult but it will quickly become an excellent stress reliever.

These Men of history you refer to are the elites and are not every day ordinary men. I think you will find that most men of history for the last 1000 years will most likely have been monogamous.

I get the impression that your focus is totally on "doing what makes you happy", and not on doing what's right or doing what's good for you of doing what's respectful of who you're with. But I understand it's your life to lead however you choose.

Can I politely disagree. FWB relationships will diminish your ability to establish future committed relationships. In a FWB relationship you are continuously trying to convince your brain that sex is nothing to do with any emotional connection to your partner. This is the opposite of what is desired for a committed relationship. I suggest that in most FWB relationships at least one of the couple is pretending to not be emotionally connected or is in denial about the level of emotional connection…

I suggest not to get involved in a FWB relationship. It's two people using each other and pretending you don't have any real feelings for each other. It's unhealthy for you.
/r/seduction15/08/22 09:48 AM
3

I still maintain banging someone you have no intention to form a real relationship with is unhealthy for your long-term ability to form real relationships.

FWB relationships is about sex with someone without any emotional attachment. I suggest that at least one of the partners is often lying to themselves about having no emotional attachments. It is difficult to conceive that sharing the act of sex with someone which puts you in one of your most vulnerable states and is one of the most beautiful human experiences and yet is supposed to be done without emotional attachments is actually possible. Other than sociopaths, and I am not suggesting you are…

You have my sympathies for the difficulties you have in finding someone to share your life with. So given your situation and your level of unhappiness how is a FWB ideal? I don't get the connection? I do wish you well.
/r/seduction10/08/22 12:16 AM

Can I humbly suggest that if your long term goal is to find someone to spend the rest of your life with them a FWB arrangement will not help you. In fact I suspect FWB will be corrosive for development of future relationships. But that's just my opinion.

I'm not sure I understand what you're really asking. To answer the flat question marriage is more important than sex however a healthy sex life is important within a good marriage. As for your boyfriend I don't know what to say. If he won't marry you because he sees no future in your relationship then I think you have your answer. But if he is just not a fan of the institution of marriage then you have work to do. Is that what he really means or is it a cover for not wanting a long term marriage…

Old guy here. I think there is a real lack of actively showing kindness to your SO. There is being kind but I mean the next level of showing kindness. I have discovered that the more I show kindness to my wife the happier I am. I know I am going a little off topic but I was trying to help people get past the superficial bit. Of course love and respect are crucial but let's ensure we include a huge dose of kindness into our relationships.

Lets not talk about any individual. Yes FWB is consenting is legal and I am sure is fun to a point. I don't think people consider the long term implications. The basis for a FWB is to "get off" as an entirely selfish activity. I am sure that many and maybe even most will have consideration for the other party. However the focus/goal/motivation is 100% about your getting off. That's really called masturbation. I have a great deal of trouble believing that a FWB relationship that goes on for a whi…

If you both honestly do not want a relationship then yes I think that both parties are using each other. I don't see that it's respect for the person. The interest in the other person is very limited.

How about don't start a FWB relationship. You will spend your time lying to yourself that you don't have feelings for the poor woman. I don't see an upside for a FWB just regret.

Your original statement is incorrect. I can't speak to your experiences but that is not true for most men.
/r/seduction31/07/22 04:55 AM

It is 100% normal. For this reason I think the FWB is a bad idea. People lie to themselves and say that they don't catch feelings with their FBuddy. It's usually a lie or they are heartless or lying to themselves.

How about don't. The better option would be to get to know her. Take her on dates. Be nice be romantic and be respectful and above all be exclusive. I assure you she will not be offended if you do that.

You need to slow down. Yes I said the FWB is a disrespectful action. My intent was to express my opinion of what the FWB action really is and that is that it's a selfish and disrespectful action for both parties as you are using the other for your own gratification. I am NOT in any way pouring any hate on anyone. If people are ok to keep using each other in this way then fine. I won't hate anyone for doing it but I will retain the belief that it's an unhealthy activity and comfortable to share m…

For the record, I am not trying to "shit" on anyone. I am politely expressing an opinion. Also I think your reasoning to have casual sex on the side is self serving and suggests you don't have self control. But that's ok if you're ok.

I am sorry your head hurts. Sex is one of the most wonderful things about being a human and it's at its best when done with someone you love and respect and trust. Making yourself completely vulnerable to the other person because you love and trust them completely is what makes sex the best. Casual sex has none of that. It's comprising what sex should be.

This is a good example of why a fwb relationship is a bad idea and will lead to sadness and loneliness and at risks your future relationships. Making love with someone you care about is way too a precious a thing to treat so casually. You are just using each other.

My lovely wife and I have been happily married for over 38 yrs. Neither of us have ever had sex with anyone else. Certainly having kids gets in the way and may impact the frequency. It certainly reduced the frequency for us but it wasn't really a big deal. Suddenly having kids really does change things. But in spite of this you really need to be creative to ensure you both connect. However the quality of the sex is much more important than the frequency. And quality really means how much you giv…

Oh ok I see what your saying and yes I largely agree be with you. There is a balance to get this right for sure. I will say that I most definitely prioritise my relationship with my wife way above all else. Hobbies friends work etc. We made marriage vows to each other in front friends and relatives and we take them very seriously. Well yes but I assure you that while we are very connected lives we do have independent minds and often disagree on issues. If I was to die early I am sure my wife would go through a time of massive grief. But in the end would move on. Are you saying that you don't commit to a women because she may move on? If yes that is no way to build a successful and fulfilling relationship.

The idea of FWB/FB whatever you want to call it, just makes me sad. My wife and have been happily married forever and neither of us can imagine what that kind of a sex would be like. It has zero appeal and we wonder why its a thing. Sex is a beautiful thing if it's with someone you trust completely, truly desire and care deeply about. Without those sex is reduced to a farmyard act. Two selfish people using each other. We wonder if people are really in a FWB/FB state or are they lying to themselv…

M 61 and quite bald and have been for decades. To answer your question from another perspective. Its very uncool and very unsexy to pretend that your NOT going bald. It's my experience that people who are confident about themselves and embrace their balding are way ways better off. Confidence is attractive.
