Im definitely a meal ticket. No affection, intimacy or sex. She quit her job earlier in the year because she needed to discover herself. Now she goes on weekend spiritual retreats, does hours of meditation a day, and surfs instagram. She listens to all kinds of podcasts about how the moon aligning with Orions belt causes her period to be shorter by 3 hours during odd months. My youngest is 9, so Im here for a while.

That is a learned skill. There is no time for OP to spend years in the mountains of Tibet with a guru. He needs to break shit now.

Serve her papers and tell her to leave. I bet she changes her tune. If not, and she leaves, still a win for you.

Sooooo.... you're just gonna drop that little nugget right there? Im going to need some phone numbers and addresses for proof. You cant just tease like that and then skeedaddle on out of here like nothing happened.

I hear ya. Coming from you, it will be white noise to her. If your Ped is good, they will address it as a health risk with your ex.

Maybe ask your daughters pediatrician about it. If you guys alternate doc visits, and you have a good relationship with the doc, maybe doc will mention something to your ex.

The point is the low effort put forth by others 🤷‍♂️

Lets see... my wife didnt plan anything, said we could do whatever I wanted. I chose to go to a state park for a hike, then have lunch in the nearby town, but then she said she wanted to include her father, so could we wait for him. He appeared 2 hours late. With a pizza. So, my daughter spent the day in her room playing on her phone, my son and FIL claimed the family room and watched TV all day. My wife did whatever it is she does. And I watched a baseball game on TV and generally hated my life…

Normally this would be my advice too but I've learned that until the divorce is final, keep a poker face and be civil.

That is exactly what I want to do but she wants to stay in the house w the kids. I'm thinking there is no real leverage on either side. We are probably just going to have to sell and split the proceeds.

Not quite. She would still have to refinance the entire amount of the loan in her name, plus give me my half of any equity. If she happens to get approved, I don't want to be forced to sell to her by a judge. I just want to give her half the equity and have her GTFO

No she wants the house. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to be forced to sell to her.

Yes that is accurate and it is what I was told. However, I am wondering if I have to sell to her or if I can throw money at her and tell her to go pound sand.

She wants to stay in the house with the kids. I'm basically saying she can have all of it. I don't want it. No I don't have the means to hire a good lawyer. As far as the cards, she used my cards for spending sprees after I just paid them all off.

Hoping to have an agreement in place in lieu of going to court. It would basically state that I would help with the kids but she can't take me to court at any point in the future to try to get more money.

I would still give her money for the kids but on my terms. I just don't want to support her frivolous spending habits.

Well that doesn't seem fair... Hopefully it doesn't get that far.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
