You're ignoring the effects of international competition. An anti-natalist philosophy is not going to thrive for obvious reasons -- people who hold the views generally don't reproduce, and civilizations with birth rates too low are not going to remain superpowers. Unless artificial reproduction will be big enough to offset it. Still I'm not convinced that single parent households will do well.

Which kind of radfem? You mean the macdworkinites? I follow some lesbian radfems on twitter and they spend most of their time opposing trans activism.

I think (some) women are more likely to tolerate male bisexuality if the man gets paid for it. A lot of gay porn actors are actually in relationships with decently attractive women.

> 1) The food that is traditional and culturally accepted is healthier (at least in China or Japan) than in the West. It's not so much the type of food as the portion. Ethnic restaurants in the US serve twice the portion. I doubt people would get skinny eating "healthier" food in the US.

men care more about appearance. i think there have been several studies. here's an article on this topic: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/federal-eye/wp/2014/09/02/why-the-federal-government-spent-3-million-to-study-lesbian-obesity/?utm_term=.2e811d476fb7

TRP is mostly irrelevant to gay men since same-sex dynamics are completely different. But I think there are interesting things in homosexual relationships that can tell us about male/female nature. For example, gay male promiscuity vs lesbian U-Haul. Lower rate of obesity among gay men vs higher rate among lesbians, etc.

If unattractive men pass down their genes, they should produce unattractive daughters as well as sons. Do you think there's a bad gene that's inherited only through sons? I think a more likely theory is that beauty is relative and the 20% stuff comes from the fact that sperms are cheap, and eggs are expensive.

Can you really compare the two though? I think childless women tend to fare better than sexless men. I'm not a woman so I don't know what a 'drive for kids' feels like.

Plenty of feminists also have long shiny omg hair and are feminine. I read an article in the nyt a few years ago by a feminist professor claiming something like yeah we are against patriarchy professionally but in the end we all get botox.

Don't know if I would call it hypergamy but I think it partly results from the gender dynamics of women preferring quality over quantity and men preferring quantity over quality.

yeah I wouldn't believe it but I've heard some personal accounts of MTF-transitioning drastically increasing SMV. I think it's just because men are thirsty tho. I've also heard MTFs claim that they weren't attracted to men before but became attracted to men after transitioning.

heterosexual sex was rape MacDworkinites also thought (male) homosexual rape and porn were misogynistic. MacKinnon used to argue that bottoms were 'feminized.' I guess only lesbian sex was safe. (But lesbian porn probably wouldn't be since it exists for the 'male gaze.')

women have higher sexual power than gay men. they have lower n-count because they want sex less. and yes it's all because of male thirst.

The difference is that society tries to accommodate shortcomings that come with a female body with government programs, support groups, etc. Same pay for different "work" in men's and women's tennis. Title IX mandates certain things about sport programs in US universities. No one would try to mandate same pay for male and female porn actors.

I believe in the greater distribution, same average explanation as well. I still can't make sense of the female handicaps they have for competitions that rely on cognitive tasks. (chess, programming, etc.) Like are they justified because men are over-represented at the tail of the distribution? But people don't even want to admit that. Are they justified just for the sake of representation? In that case, do the handicaps also apply to transwomen? Should it be based on testosterone? Are they base…

If consent was given based in part on height, weight, and birth control, and those are false, then the consent is void. But how do you even determine that in the first place? I'd imagine sometimes even the person who was lied to couldn't determine if they would have agreed to sex had they been exposed to the truth. Does this non-consensual sex exist in the mind of alleged victim? Does it require a deliberate intent to deceive to acquire fraudulent consent on the liar's part? (for example, what a…

In the current climate, I don't think it's possible to describe feminism accurately in isolation with its sister left-wing movements. This is due to critical theory and intersectionality. For example, you will see Women Marchers holding up signs disparaging "White Feminism" and sometimes even "White Women." This everyday feminism article 10 Things Every Intersectional Feminist Should Ask On a First Date exemplifies how left-wing movements coalesce, with feminism at its center. Camille Paglia (a …

It matters because the left frequently argue that outcome disparity is mainly a result of discrimination in order to support policies that give preferential treatment for certain groups, i.e., not treating individuals as individuals. Blank slate bolsters that position.

The male take-over is a non-credible threat in modern society. A society that subjugates women too much will suffer significant economic losses, among other things. It's just not rational for men to conspire to do that in a given society. And men all over the world wouldn't conspire to do that at the same time because that's not how tribalism works. Basically, it's an empty threat that women don't pay attention to (if they're rational).

I'm in Asia a few weeks a year. Status seems to matter more than looks for men. Criteria on looks are similar with lower standards for height and masculinity. Less tolerance for morbid obesity. Also, there is colorism (judging from commericals for whitening products), which affects women more than men. (Unlike in the US where ethnicity seems to affect male SMV more than female SMV.)

I acknowledged that she didn't say directly that it wasn't real, and that's why I said "close to." The way she critiques the sex-gender distinction does diminish the role of biological sex to the point where I question whether she thinks anything is not socially constructed. I'm so sick of this idea that universities are some kind of "liberal indoctrination station." It's anti-intellectual. People wouldn't have this impression if a significant portion of the (academic) left didn't routinely attack free speech, academic freedom, and due process. (Edit: Let me know if you want examples!) Why blame the public and not the perpetrators?

Second, no one is suggesting that biological sex "isn't real." Only that biological sex is distinct from gender. Judith Butler argues that biological sex is socially constructed. (Which in my interpretation is pretty close to saying it isn't real.) She isn't some random feminist, and the mainstream feminists probably subscribe to her performative gender theory (the philosophical ones at least).

I don't know about apologizing. I read this article recently and it got me thinking that some women probably find these apologies cringey. Given that there's a surplus of male attention on most women, it makes sense for women to collectively creep-shame men (by attractiveness) to discourage men they're not attracted to from approaching. Male white knighting is cringey af. There's a difference between arguing a feminist position and being a total 'women are wonderful' cuck (for lack of a better word). That is a claim that’s been used to justify the suppression of pretty much every unpopular idea on earth. Was Galileo a sociopath? Are closeted homosexuals in homophobic countries sociopaths? Are muslim women who only wear the veil because of coercion sociopaths? Are political dissenters sociopaths? Inb4 RP is not comparable. If that’s the case, then you just made a bad argument because your claim can be applied to the things I mentioned as well. If anything, it reveals your authoritarianism.

I agree. Not sure if women work like this tho but for me, people with traits I find attractive but are on the extreme side are in the 'would fuck, would not date' territory.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/17 09:39 PM

You should date someone whose values match yours. If you can't find one, then settle for arranged marriage. I never get those relationships where they don't speak the same language. How can you discuss topics like TRP, feminism, MRAs, and incels?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/17 09:29 PM

why do some women act ditzy then? that's how they are? is that how girling works? surely some people find that attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/17 07:25 PM

I think there are certain qualities that very attractive people can pull off, and the rest of the humanity shouldn't attempt. Ditziness is one of them.

it's not a mini-outrage at all. no one is calling for the girl to be punished. Look at what happened to Harvard's men's soccer team rankings. It was leaked and the team was suspended. Edit: what do you think about the suspension?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/17 04:24 PM
2

oh yeah I don't think what she did was wrong at all, but if a guy did that and it was leaked, there would be an outrage. I mean Harvard men soccer's rankings of the women's team weren't meant to be public either. Do you think the team members shouldn't have been suspended?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/17 04:22 PM

Third world country. Dictatorship with a benevolent ruler facade. Quite a bit of dissent but it's punished both socially and legally so people don't show. There was a pretty influential anti-porn feminist coalition in the 90s led by Dworkin-MacKinnon. They pretty much failed because the supreme court has been unprecedentedly pro-speech in the past century. The ACLU also had a pretty good track record on pro-speech litigation then and they defended porn.

I think when your movement has cultural dominance, you become the arbiter of moral rectitude. I've seen it in two different countries, different ideologies. Back to the point: A causal link isn't necessary for prudent action. So much this. I'm sick of people saying "correlation does not imply causation" when you don't need causation to prove your point. An example of confusing correlation with causation would be: I'm a woman so I'd better not slut it up or I'll have a high rate of divorce. However, in the viewpoint of a man, unless you know the confounding variables, you shouldn't ignore promiscuity which is positively correlated with the divorce ra…

Feminists will insist that this dynamic is unhealthy and creates male entitlement, but women themselves are equally responsible for keeping it alive. Ok this is one of the few things I agree with feminists with. How are women responsible for keeping male thirst or the 'conquest' attitude alive? They just want less casual sex on average. It's not like there's a cabal of feminists conspiring a pussy cartel. Biology favors women in this regard. I'm sure there are cultural reasons for it too -- men …

I actually think generalization makes more sense when it comes from someone you don't know. If they don't know you, then they only have information based on statistical prior from your apparent characteristics (physical appearance, race, gender, etc.) If someone knows you, they shouldn't be making a generalization because they have more relevant information to judge you by.

In contrast saying that it is unlikely that horoscopes work because of they did companies would use them to trade shares is not a fallacy. It IS a fallacy, and there are much better arguments against horoscopes than that. The germ theory of disease was held in disdain for decades in favor of the miasma theory. women will naturally carry more fat than their male BMI counterparts the charts already take that into account. they have different cutoffs for fat by BF% (25% for men and 35% for women). If you're willing to use these practices on someone, don't you think they should know about it? No. When women have their girl talk (which often involves relationship advice and even sometimes 'manipulation'), they don't expect their SOs to hear about it. I view TRP as a crude (and questionable) version of relationship advice. You see them as posing as 'alpha' online but I don't see it that way. A big part of a strategy being effective is that the other party doesn't know your strategy.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/17 07:17 PM

So you lack the courage of your convictions, is what you're saying. Do homosexuals who have to hide their sexuality from loved ones in Saudi Arabia lack the courage? What about apostates? No they are not equivalent but I hope you get the idea. It's easy to say what you say when you identify with the popular ideology.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/17 06:42 PM
6

First of all, I don't see RP men as alpha, but is it a mystery to you that people hide their unpopular opinion in real life? There is a real risk of social persecution and career loss. Things you share in private don't stay in private. I'll share my favorite SCOTUS quote: Anonymity is a shield from the tyranny of the majority It's nice that people have outlets to discuss things that are considered beyond the pale in public life.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/17 06:39 PM

doesn't preclude a different state of affairs. It's not going to be achieved through another sexual revolution. Sexual revolution exposes male thirst more than female openness to casual sex. Removing female inhibition is also not a focus of today's feminism. Slight tangent, there's an interesting discussion going on here: For most of them it's a one-off or a few times off, not something they actively look for.

straight guys cuddling with each other That's just gay. Gay men don't even cuddle most of the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/17 04:56 PM

It's a pretty good assumption according to the women on PPD. It's actually one of the rare claims blues and reds have been able to settle on here. Testosterone increases sex drive, and sex is riskier for women, and they don't always reach orgasm during casual sex, etc.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/17 07:57 PM

You make a very questionable assumption about female nature -- that the only thing preventing women from being cum pigs en masse is that they're not culturally liberated. Men and women are different, and women don't like casual sex as much. Also, your speculation is not consistent with empirical evidence. Women have more negotiating power in western SMP where they are more liberated (and more 'feminist'). The only way to balance SMP short of genetic engineering is male scarcity.

I'm not surprised based on the fact that most participants are lesbian. They value different traits in SMP so that may have an effect on who they select as a sperm donor. Feminist by definition and by action The dictionary definition of feminism is a non-working definition. Most people claim to be for equality, but people disagree on what equality entails -- of opportunity, of outcome, or equal treatment under the law. I agree with you about the 'empirically less attractive' part but I think part of their problem is how they're viewed vs how their female counterparts are viewed. For example, it's somehow considered outrageous by the mainstream media that people call Mindy Kaling fat. I've even seen news articles that refer to her as 'beauty' and I just gasp at their choice of words.

There are some sampling issues with the studies: "None of the studies describe details on how they recruited their samples, e.g. how many refused to participate, in order to determine whether or not they were representative of the population recruited." I have personal experience with this and although my sampling is obviously biased, I highly doubt the claim that >6.5 is 'extremely rare.' It's unlikely to have two roommates with big dicks, but it's also unlikely to have two roommates both bragg…

do you sample white dudes uniformly by random and ask for their dick size? if not, then the ones that tend to announce their dick sizes are more likely to be well-endowed so it's possible that they're telling the truth. sampling bias you know?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/10/17 03:17 PM

It depends on where you sample. If you sample from the actual population, you're probably correct. If you look for big dicks, you will find them. And those 7 and 8 inchers aren't rare if you know where to look lol

Since you asked a racially charged question, I'm going to answer the first question honestly. Yes, there is a negative bias based on stereotypes which are in part based on reality so not fitting the stereotype would help "overcome" the bias. Do you have body odor? And what's your dick size? Also, drop the cute look when taking pictures and go for a more masculine one.

Either could work depending on the guy, I think. Nipples work great on the right guy, but many guys don’t have sensitive nipples and some oversensitive. The areas between thighs and balls work for some.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/17 02:42 AM
1

differs from guy to guy. unless the guy is a natural multiple cummer, you can't continue with the same intensity after the first load. so take it a little light after and build it up. have you figured out where your partner's sensitive spots are? sensitive spots do the trick for me but they get wayyy sensitive after orgasm so stay off them after the first orgasm and simulate them after the guy has cooled down.

Asian and Indian men are wholly unprepared for the western smp by their families I think physical attributes matter more than upbringing. Middle eastern men do ok despite being raised by foreign families. Also, "Indian" actually consists of several ethnic groups and the ones that "look more white" (there's no better way to say this) do ok as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/17 06:34 AM
1

Okkk I think I'm qualified to answer this, having seen SMPs in both Asia and North America. Basically, Asian men get rejected by Asian women because western SMP punishes non-caucasian features in men, but not in women. It's not about the race per se but the features that correlate with race, and I'm just going to spell some of them out here: height, fat distributed in the face, general facial features like not having a tall nose, dick size, etc. For some reason, small boobs and ass don't seem to…

About jury nullification? Yes, I watched his video justifying his claim -- he thought jury nullification necessary because men could not get due process in a criminal rape trial -- which I disagree. Men have issues that need to be addressed and should be addressed...it's just mostly being done by feminists, or people who consider themselves as such. It's cheap to say feminism helps men because "patriarchy hurts men, too." sugar daddy That was just an example. I'm saying the distinction between prostitution and non-prostitution is not black and white, and this is why the general concept of 'price' is warranted. Some of these guys aren't "forced" to go to prostitutes or anything, they just don't want to be realistic and get a woman that's more in their league. they can't meet their demands with a regular pussy so they go for prostitute pussy. -> imperfect substitute.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/17 06:06 PM

straight prostitution It's not always black and white. Social norms, etc. can mask the true transactional nature of the relationship. It's also possible that one party thinks it's love and the other marries for money. the monetary value of "pussy" in prostitution influences this I see prostitution as an imperfect substitute (it's an economic term) of pussy acquired through conventional means. For example, you see men who can't get conventional pussies go on sex tourism in the third world to pay …

In the past, it was providing resources. There's still prostitute-like behavior on the non-prostitute market (sugar daddies). On college campuses, sometimes it's free booze+drugs. Sometimes commitment and love. More often than not, men are the 'buyers' and women the 'sellers.'

that every male has a pure male brain and every female has a pure female brain no one actually believes that. the authors say more than that -- that there are no intelligible ways to define male and female brains and natures. This is very hard to reconcile with the claim that transgenders are wired with the brains characteristic of the opposite sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/17 02:34 PM
3

How does that context temper the authors' rejection of male and female natures and brains? You can't even reconcile this rejection with the idea that transgenders are wired similarly to the opposite sex. And I showed you feminists don't even all agree on that, contrary to what you claimed.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/17 02:26 PM

The authors say 8% of people, not women, and use quotes around all mentions of male and female brains, indicating the rejection of the concepts, and later conclude this: This makes the notion of female and male natures as unintelligible as that of female and male brains. That's a very unequivocal and bold rejection of the idea of male and female natures/brains. Scientists do not generally even draw an overarching conclusion like that.

Women should be reminded not to date abusive men too! But when it comes to casual sex, a lot of men tend to stick their dicks in untoward places due to thirst so they need that kind of reminder.

Can you show that they still do that on a large scale? https://www.theguardian.com/science/2015/dec/01/brain-sex-many-ways-to-be-male-and-female This was published recently in a pro-feminist mainstream media site. Daphne Joel is the main feminist researcher on this topic. In general, feminists do not like the male and female brains idea due to what they call "stereotype threat." Modern feminists are all about transgender people being born with a brain that's closer to the opposite sex. There is …

When I went to college, we had a don't ask don't tell alcohol policy. The RAs specifically said they would not try to catch us for underage drinking, but that we shouldn't do it so conspicuously in the hallway. But we were also encouraged to keep doors open for safety reasons.

Borderline Personality Disorder I don't think feminists have any personality disorder in any significant number. I also disagree with the characterization of progressive sjws as 'snowflakes.' Men can prostitute themselves in times of desperation as well. But really only to other men. I don't think most men can do that. Gay sex is easy enough to find that you have to be somewhat attractive to be a male prostitute. For female prostitution, there seems to be a market for every type.

I've only gotten black out drunk maybe once but I'm pretty sure I was conscious at the time and could have consented to sex. As far as I know, black out means you don't remember what happened, not that you don't understand what's going on at the time. But I'm no expert in alcohol poisoning. If he managed to get home, I think most likely he could have consented to sex.

cannot understand what is happening. I think this is the legal definition of incapacitation. At least that's what I've found here: http://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-charges/sexual-assault-overview.html. The law's stupid. Yes, I agree. The state has no business protecting you from your drunken tattoo consequences.

drunk sex laws yet I fail to see cases of women put behind bars. Men don't generally get jailed for having drunk sex either. Some topics have been made recently under the false assumption that drunk sex is rape. The threshold is incapacitation, not intoxication.

I would define sexuality by the secondary sexual characteristics you're attracted to so having sex with a transgender person is neither homosexual nor heterosexual. It's a 'bisexual' act I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/17 06:48 PM
1

That's not a good analogy to make when it comes to US law. Most states have no restrictions on intoxication in their tattoo laws. You don't want this to apply to rape. The threshold for legal incapacitation may be higher than 'walking straight,' but I'm not sure. Edit: I've seen a better analogy made with boxing. But I still don't like it. It would entail viewing sex as prima facie an assault unless proven otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/17 04:47 PM

if two drunken men have sex, the less attractive one is a rapist obviously

While I don't agree with some feminists' view that advising precautions is victim-blaming, I also don't agree that being reckless forfeits your right to file a complaint. If you forget to unlock your door one day and someone steals your tv, it's still theft. With rape, it's more complicated because there's ambiguity when non-consent is not clearly expressed. No, that's a douchey move. People are allowed to have their preferences. Something equivalent is to say "I'm sorry, you're too heavy."
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/17 11:25 PM
4

Again, I answered your OP why some women don't say "stop doing that." I do not think men should be legally responsible for what women say or do not say. That's another issue. We probably differ on what counts as a no, though. For me, "I'm not into x" is a no.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/17 04:47 PM
3

I'm not a woman, and obviously I think it's wrong for a woman to leverage their coercive legal power to get a man to do something. But we're talking in the sexual context here and I haven't heard of a woman using that kind of power to get a man to perform a sexual act. When they do, I think it's equally wrong (or even more wrong since it involves the state).
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/17 04:26 PM
2

Why shouldn't women be treated like men, then? I think they should be. Like if a woman somehow has coercive power over a man, I think she should be cautious about his potential no, too. It just so happens that most men are stronger than most women.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/17 04:01 PM
3

No, it does not mean that. Your OP asks to explain how it can be difficult for a woman to say "get off me." I'm not suggesting that mind-reading should be implemented as a (legal) policy. But men should be aware that due to strength differences, "I'm not into anal" is really a "no."
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/17 03:42 PM
1

I'm bad at reading nonverbal cues but when it comes to sex I think it's obvious whether someone is into what you're doing or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/17 03:39 PM
4

You would say don't be alone with a strange guy but sometimes you can't 100% vet a guy beforehand. For example, imagine yourself as a girl who consents to PIV sex with someone you're dating but one time he's really pushing hard to do anal and he's twice your size. You say things like "I'm not sure about anal" and he keeps pushing but due to strength differences I can see how someone's afraid to say "no get off me."

How did feminists work with male politicians and school staff to enact these changes? A combination of ideological and personal interests. For university staff, for example, the expansion of campus bureaucracy (title IX, diversity, etc.) increases their paycheck. The number of non-academic university employees has doubled in the last 25 years, while the number of tenure-track faculty employees has not increased much. You can do the same thing they did. You can enact political and legal change. Y…

Evidence that sex happened or evidence of non-consent? I don't think there is a case where a woman's sole claim was taken without investigation. In most title IX cases, it's established that sex happened but sometimes exculpatory evidence (of consent) is ignored or not allowed to be presented. I can dig some of those up for you if that is what you're interested. But if you're looking for a case where we don't know if sex happened at all, I believe there is none.

But the campus branch of feminism is the most influential one right now and the sources you cite are heavily linked to the Gloria Steinem/Michael Kimmel's wing of men's lib (feminist-inspired) activism. To what extent are women as a whole going to work against 3rd wave feminists? Women as a whole, no. But some individual women might be influential enough. Not constitutional rights in college tribunals probably. So far I don't know any legal challenges to title IX that rely on the fifth amendment. People challenge the 2011 DCL based on the argument that it created new regulations without notice-and-comment. Federal courts have been reversing some of the universities' decisions but I doubt that the reversals are based on the students' constitutional rights. (I haven't read the decisions in detail. So you think the roles you play have no bearing on your overall psychological profile? I should clarify. I don't think we should judge people politically based on what they role-play as. But role-playing can affect irl stuff like relationship dynamics. I've experienced it first hand.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/17 03:11 PM
5

The personal is political! Seriously though I think role playing is just role playing. Even some men like to be dominated sexually (hence dominatrices exist) but that doesn't mean they want to be subjugated irl.

there's a way to take care of sex drive and it's called masturbation. i'm happy to use this method when someone doesn't meet my standards. i just don't get how other men would prefer to lower their standards.

asking you to define a concept central to your argument that you neglect to define is not splitting hair. it is a prerequisite to cyv.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/17 04:08 PM

If you can't clarify your argument or give definitions or examples of a term you use, you're not qualified for debate. Imagine how you'd react if a feminist used the same tactic you did about misogyny.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/17 03:56 PM

But to CYV we need to know what you consider anti-male. For example, men rape more than women and saying it is so is not anti-male in my opinion.

Then by that logic time isn't a social construct. Dates and clocks are. The book actually argues that "the fact that one and one make two" has to be interpreted by society, pretty convincingly, too. The guy is a mathematician and philosopher of language. Edit: Also, the mathematical society decides on what to use as axioms of arithmetic and logic (ZFC for now). From the axioms, you can derive 1 + 1 = 2. But something has to be agreed upon first.

I doubt anything would lead to a diagnosis of the 'transgender brain.' The brain stuff is about averages and there is an overlap between male and female brains. People do get diagnosed with gender dysphoria, but the current activism is not limited to those with formal diagnosis.

Philosophically, I wouldn't say they have no criteria -- they probably believe in the Butlerian gender stuff. Practically, it's politically incorrect to assess how one performs (wo)manhood so you'll just take someone at their word.

Jezebel quickly responded here. It isn't that male reproductive rights are unpopular among the general public, but the article didn't generate discussions on what to do with the law, and attracted more criticisms than support in the mainstream media.

Not an expert on how the terms changed but if I have to guess, it's probably because 1) the trans community now considers it offensive to privilege those who 'pass' as the opposite sex, 2) there's been more focus on gender identity rather than biological sex. As a result, transgender is an umbrella term that describes a lot of people now, and transsexual is 'less inclusive.' Basically, the current narrative is that if you say you're a woman, you're a woman, and we shouldn't make a distinction ba…

I've never used them but Bumble and CoffeeMeetsBagel don't seem to have this reputation. I'm sure these apps hire some non-STEM 'dating experts' as well. Or would you rather have gender studies majors code the apps?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/17 12:05 AM

I'd like to see stats from other apps as well. Tinder kinda has a reputation for being a hookup app so that's not surprising at all.

If we post height, we should post weight. Dating apps that do that would be out of business basically. I mean, I don't have a problem with dating apps catering to women more to attract female users. (like how some bars privilege female customers so heterosexual men won't be surrounded with all dicks.) Just that we shouldn't be in denial about it.

The article has been addressed on PPD before and no, it is not a good article. It doesn't even define what it means for women to be put at an 'evolutionary disadvantage.' I'm also baffled how a gender researcher on online dating even fails to consider the fact that height is listed on dating sites and weight is not. Surely that has nothing to do with gender preferences.

I think women deserve to have their grievances heard I just don't like to hear about their silly dating grievances. The reason I don't want to hear about male grievances is that I know exactly what they're going to be if the mainstream media is in charge of it -- men should be encouraged to show their emotions more, cry more, and play with pink toys more. People don't like to hear about male grievances, especially male dating grievances. To be honest, I don't want to see male grievances in the mainstream media either. I just wish they would stop publishing tone-deaf female dating grievances, too. /r/PurplePillDebate17/08/17 09:04 PM

Depends on the second wavers in question I think. I've heard things like women are as capable as men in math, etc. but are held back by socialization. Then there's Peggy McIntosh's theory that men are 'vertical' thinkers, and women are 'lateral' thinkers and we should reform school curriculum to favor lateral thinking. Germaine Greer argued that women shouldn't be aspire to be like men but she was kinda out of the mainstream.

There's STD scares with either gender. Lesbian sex is much less risky in terms of STDs. Maybe you can get gonorrhea and chlamydia from going down on a woman and hepatitis viruses from rimming (if lesbians even do that), but I can't even think of a likely mode of HIV transmission from lesbian sex.

I'm going off Atlas's proposition that the police handle the accusation instead of the school. In that situation, the school would help the students report to the police but not involve in the adjudication itself. At the very least, we should get rid of the single investigator model in some schools where a single person acts as a detective, judge, and jury.

Intersex people are more common than redheads but you aren't seeing me saying that there are only two hair colors: dark and blonde The difference here is that sex characteristics are bimodal and people perceive intersex people as existing somewhere on the spectrum rather than their own categories. Sure you can create separate categories for XXY, XXX, XYY, etc. but they won't be useful for most people. Redheads are kinda their own thing. They're not a mix between dark and blond. They have somewha…

That's an interesting strategy. I suspect it only works with 'the queens' though since the particular guy wields some influence. Don't think it will be effective to just befriend random gay guys so they match you with their girlfriends.

Has the said gay friend gotten you laid? If not, I don't know if you can vouch for effectiveness. In general, a good wingman is someone who is less attractive than you. (There was actual research on this.)

I don't think there's an actual 'responsibility,' but from an efficiency standpoint, it's more practical for a transwoman to disclose when disclosure is safe than a man to disclose his 'cis-only' preference due to the numbers. A man saying 'cis-only' is also bound to offend some non-trans women (for suspecting that they may not be biologically female).

Like let's say you are a little boy and want to play with action toys, but your parents tell you that you are actually a girl and that you should play with dolls instead? I expressed my opinion on this on the Reimer case -- that you shouldn't push gender roles onto people who reject them, but this doesn't necessitate the adoption of gender identity. Wouldn't that be easier to achieve if we first implement the idea that people's gender can differ from their sex in the mainstream consciousness? I …

Your example seems to suggest that there's something innate about gender, but that doesn't mean the concept of 'gender identity' is necessary. You can argue that Reimer was harmed by being forced a gender identity that he didn't agree with. But what happens when you intensely experience both genders Honestly, I don't even know how you experience a gender. Am I currently experiencing maleness? It might be simpler to do as the OP suggests -- let people perform whatever gender roles they want and f…

What do you mean by legally speaking? If you're talking about legislation, I agree that there shouldn't a law that treats people from X differently solely because they're from X. These people are usually liberal feminists, not leftists. Which is the OP's subject. We're talking about feminists, not the true leftist feminists you shifted the goalpost to. Very mainstream how? Very common in North America. The Women's March did it. Very mainstream. A lot of Democrat politicians and lefty organizations jumped on the #IStandWithLinda bandwagon. (There's a difference between defending her against unfair attacks and lionizing her despite her awful ideas. They do the latter.) /r/PurplePillDebate21/07/17 11:56 AM

Do you mean the intersectional feminists who kicked Jews out of their Chicago Dyke March and later doubled down with anti-semitic comments? Or the Women's March which recently celebrated Assata Shakur's birthday? Maybe Justin Trudeau who attended a gender-segregated mosque without protest? I wouldn't trust them in charge of supporting 'moderate Islam.' In fact, there are practicing muslims who call themselves reformists. They get no support from the left.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/17 11:54 AM

Leftists go way beyond defending the treatment of muslims. Glorifying the hijab as a symbol of liberation despite the fact that many women are still forced to wear hijabs. Huffpo is a mainstream site and actually I posted here earlier about the new feminist textbook describing the hijab as a "mobile home." The texts are damning and exculpatory but I don't know if they're enough to show that she lied. Edit: This is similar to the UVA lawsuit where Nicole Eramo sued the Rolling Stones instead of 'Jackie' for defamation. If it weren't for the Dear Colleague letter, most schools would use 'clear and convincing' for sexual assault adjudications. Colleges don't have to adopt 'beyond reasonable doubt,' but they do have an obligation to observe due process to some degree, either a contractual obligation or title IX. (Title IX is a little harder to argue since it requires showing that the college would treat a hypothetical female student differently.) There are a growing number of cases where accused male students prevail in the courts against college tribunals.

There are some gray area legal issues with how campus courts handle sexual assault due to the OCR's 'Dear Colleague' letter. You are confusing the First Amendment with a moral stance of allowing others to speak even when you disagree with them. The fact that it's regarding a speech is not the point. But it does have an implication for free speech. He is trying to 'justify' censorship (heckler's veto in the examples he gave). Look at his uses of: can't use can't tell can't call can't talk You don't need to justify protests; it's a guaranteed first amendment right and you don't even need a good reason to protest.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/17 03:51 PM

My general rule is that you don't owe anyone an explanation for your rejection, and you shouldn't state the reason just to be polite, but if they keep pressing you for it, then anything you tell them is fair game.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/17 02:48 PM

Now you're just playing an authoritarian SJW caricature. We have a higher commitment to free speech in the US. You don't ban speech because it's offensive, and even speech advocating illegal actions is mostly protected (See Brandenburg v Ohio). I hope you're consistent in your authoritarianism at least. You would also ban the publication of religious scriptures that contain bigoted passages about wife beating and presecuting apostates, wouldn't you?

You shouldn't push for government or public health policies based on RP anecdotes, but for an individual to try it out, the standard of evidence is lower. You said there were no such things as inalienable rights. I argued that they are ideals followed by the Bill of Rights and are often (but not always) enforced.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/17 08:26 PM
2

I'm not breaking anything down. There's no legal distinction between those. They are both rights from government intrusion. The court doesn't care what you pursue when it comes to constitutional rights.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/17 08:22 PM
2

Liberty is broader than that. I mean SCOTUS doesn't say you have to pursue X to be granted a right. Obvious example: The fourth amendment protects you from unwarranted searches and doesn't require you to pursue anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/17 08:15 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/17 08:03 PM
3

I won't be able to convince you if you Edit:don't believe in natural rights and have a different concept of rights but mine is consistent with how the Bill of Rights is generally interpreted so it is enforceable to some extent if you live in the US. The SCOTUS doesn't interpret speech rights to require responsibilities from the speaker, for example. It's usually about limiting government intrusion.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/17 07:54 PM
2

'Rights come with responsibilities' is a statist authoritarian cliche. It's frequently invoked to justify censorship. I see the right to vote and duty to pay taxes as a social contract to participate in a democracy. Autonomy rights are fundamental and inalienable. In terms of financial responsibility for the child, I agree with Atlas's view that the child belongs to the woman until she agrees to share with the father.

"belonging to a community", "moral way of life", and "sanctity of women". Doesn't sound like the author views the societies as oppressive. If she did, she wouldn't say "mobile home" but maybe like "mobile sanctuary." Plus, the latter sounds like victim-blaming to me. Not very feminist.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/17 12:22 AM
1

Ever since I came across her phrase "portable seclusion," I have thought of these enveloping robes as "mobile homes." ... This part is the author's POV. I don't see how it's not an endorsement, when she goes along with the anthropologist's account. Does the book present an opposing POV where the burqa is viewed as oppressive? If not, then it seems like an endorsement to me.

What's ironic is that their solution to trying to prevent third wave sjw types from turning their country into a leftist authoritarian state that will oppress their beliefs is to use the government to oppress enough people from being able to vote in favor of THEIR own beliefs. People who want to ban the left are not 'libertarians' lol. They're just authoritarians of a different strain.

It's not like there's a council to decide whether to obliterate the feminist movement altogether. So you can oppose the aspects you don't like but still support rape victims. For example, the organization RAINN is the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the US and it doesn't advance the rape culture narrative.

Check out the new feminist scholarship: "Everyday Women's and Gender Studies: Introductory Concepts." (https://www.amazon.com/Everyday-Womens-Gender-Studies-Introductory/dp/0415536669) The book describes the burqa as a 'liberating invention' and a 'mobile home.' I've subtly rejected advances before (moving away when a girl sat right next to me with our legs touching). The women weren't persistent. I don't know all that much about female-on-male rape. Feminists were the first to recognize male rape victims, but I think there's also pressure on some feminists to maintain the 'rape is gendered' narrative. Then again it's not like other influential groups really care about male rape victims.

More men are 'sex-addicts' than you think. You can try posting on craigslist as a DTF fat woman, and you will get messages from good-looking guys. This has been done many times and one of the 'experiments' was posted on this sub. Hell you can even be a feminine-passing non woman. We're pretty much past debating this on this sub and debating on the fact that women don't enjoy casual sex so easy access isn't necessarily good for them, instead.

How this translates to "Feminists don't want women to get consent." is beyond me Probably because it's all in your head. It has the effect of downplaying female-on-male rape, and making rape appear more gendered.

I call people cunts all the time, men and women. Also, cunt seems to be considered most offensive in American English, and less so in British or Australian. Interestingly in a lot of languages the swear word for female genital is considered more profane than for male genital.

She shouldn't because she's a woman
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/17 09:14 PM

As a man who has sex with men, I agree that homosexuality is beneficial for heterosexual men. I mean sometimes I get confused by all the MGTOW talk because gay men actually practice a version of that. Anyway, I think prevalent male homosexuality would be a public health disaster if you look at STD and HIV rates. Not something I would encourage and it's slightly hypocritical for me to say this.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/17 09:10 PM

I agree that marriage is influenced by western culture. Different cultures practiced 'marriage' differently in the past, and polygyny was common in a lot of them.

Male beauty is based on immutable characteristics while female beauty is less so. However, women value looks less than men do, (they care more about personality, money, etc.) so that balances it out a little bit.

We just have different definitions of "unreasonable" then. I kinda take the free market approach here. Women have those standards because they can afford to, so they're not really being unreasonable.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/17 11:23 PM
2

No one acts like a moral skeptic just like no one acts like a metaphysical skeptic. The moral skeptics I've met even had opinions about politcs lol. Just like a metaphysical skeptic won't jump out of the window because they're skpetical about reality.

Do you know women who complain that they can't get the 5% men? I haven't met one like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/17 07:20 PM

I completely agree that it's harder to be a HG than a HB (at least in the present day US). That doesn't mean that women's demands are unreasonable, though. Reasonable with respect to what? Women don't have as much trouble getting the men they want as men do (judging from this sub), so I'd say their standards are pretty reasonable. Women aren't responsible for male thirst. They're just playing the game just like men are.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/17 07:06 PM

most feminists just call that sexist lol
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/17 06:56 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/17 12:40 AM

Most men don't actively look for short girls, though. I've seen a graph where male preference for height is basically constant within the normal range (where the girl is not way too short or too tall).

Not all men use prostitutes out of desperation. See hollywood actors. i don't think it says anything about other men. To have sex on his terms.

I mean rape is non-consensual sex so if non-consensual bj is rape than bj is sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/17 05:57 PM

I prefer that look on myself for some reason. I think the guy probably works out his chest but he's arm dominant rather than torso dominant.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/17 05:56 PM
1

I'd say 40%. I wouldn't mind adding a few inches in height and dick (not too many on the latter tho). Genetics plays a role in how the male physique builds, too. I have naturally muscular lower body and I've seen guys who squat more than I do at the gym but look like twigs.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/17 05:49 PM

Some non-'activisty liberal' women like it because they get off of it. Like some want their bfs in MMF sucking dicks and stuff.

If non-consensual penis-to-mouth counts as rape then bjs definitely count as sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/17 04:18 PM

No. People don't mind those characters portrayed in a positive light as long as they are original. Remaking an existing character seems contrived.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/17 03:46 PM

Oh yes body fat percentage changes how your face looks and male faces generally look better with lower body fat percentage.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/17 02:57 PM

But I see fat women with confidence snagging guys out of their league, while much better looking women, who are insecure ... I believe that's because the fat women are DTF, not because they're confident. I know good looking women who don't care much about "snagging guys out of their league." I'm sure deep down they know they could get Chad dick for ONS but they're happy with their LTR.

Re: movies. Women are consumers and there's nothing wrong with 'corporations' targeting them. What bothers people is when they do it in a tacky way like we'll make this male character female or straight character gay, because it seems like they're promoting an agenda. People react positively to original female/lgbt characters.

In the current political climate, I don't view feminism in isolation but as a part of the socially progressive movement. I see college campuses as microcosms of the progressive power. Events at Evergreen State, Berkeley, Middlebury, and what happened to Rebecca Tuvel demonstrate that the far left disregards classical liberal values like free speech, due process, and academic freedom. Very prone to witch hunting. I'm not saying it doesn't happen on the right.

There are some efforts to seize men's issues for feminism. Gloria Steinem, Michael Kimmel, etc. started men's studies in academia. Men lib stuff from a feminist platform. Steinem said herself that feminism is defined by the dictionary definition.

I wouldn't claim that all liberals are virtue signaling but I've encountered a lot that are. For example, a lot of leftist empathy is not applied universally. I've seen too many lefties glorify left-wing dictators that jailed dissenters and had bad human rights records. I've also challenged some 'environmentalists' on the fact that they eat meat. (I'm a vegetarian and eat mostly vegan.) None of them were able to convincingly justify their lifestyle choices.

The humanities are heavily influenced by feminism. I went to college before the peak of SJW and I had to take some intro humanities courses. I chose a sequence focused on philosophy. Typically, we would be assigned reading from classical and some contemporary analytic philosophers but one of the professors assigned readings from Jane Austen and WEB Du Bois. I'm sure they wrote great things but I found them lacking in philosophical content and rigor. The professor then explained that he assigned …

Speaking only for myself. I live in a liberal enclave and have mostly liberal friends. I'm not RP and don't really care about how feminism affects dating or men's rights. However, I'd like to think of myself as a principled civil libertarian, and I follow the news about free speech pretty closely especially on college campuses. The subject of feminism inevitably comes up and it's hard for me to discuss with my liberal friends about it.

I think fame raises a man's SMV than it does a woman's. (e.g. Marilyn Manson) An ugly male musician can probably get laid much more than his non-famous counterpart. An ugly female musician can get laid, too, but probably not much more than her non-famous counterpart.

I think there was a twitter firestorm about her jokes. Then she said she 'opted out' of the apology culture. Ah, well that explains it, no one takes transracialism seriously. Most people I know consider it pretty offensive to both POC and transpeople. Does that justify the open letter campaign against her? She made a pretty cogent argument for it, whether or not you agree. Do feminists even have respect for academic freedom? Note also that once this got mainstream attention, her detractors remov…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/17 09:13 PM

I meant diversity of viewpoint. That is not happening in feminism. Demanding apology for off-color jokes is enforcing conformity more than anything. You haven't been following what's going on in academic feminism if you don't know Rebecca Tuvel. She was subjected to an academic witch hunt for defending transracialism.

The idea is that men are thirsty for sex but withhold commitment from women. I don't think it's true. I think men are thirsty for both, but more so for sex than commitment.

Ten years ago Tina Fey was a feminist hero and now there's a younger generation who finds her problematic. That's not because feminism is diversifying, though. I'd say it's a sign that it's moving towards conformity and purity. The Rebecca Tuvel episode demonstrates this well. She was a feminist in good standing but expressed an opinion that strayed from the orthodoxy. She had to be academically burned at the stake. Before her story got mainstream attention, I'm not aware of any notable feminist…

Speech rights have something to do with markets as well. Free marketplace of ideas, for example. This is particularly relevant when it comes to campaign finance (political speech and money). SCOTUS took the market-based approach in cases like Buckley v Valeo, Citizens United v FEC, etc.

I think more realistically, women would willingly have sex with Mike because of his resources, and Mike would give up his ass to Brad without much protest. Just look at how men behave in prison.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/17 11:11 PM

Yes, forcing someone to have sex with you is wrong, but we probably have different definitions of coercion. Do you think Mike is being immoral? Do you think Mike should be coerced to provide his services without compensation?

Women have been trading sex for favor for all of human history. If that is sexual blackmailing, all of human history is sexual blackmailing. Realistically Mike would not have to explicitly pull an ultimatum at all. Women would willingly have sex with him because of his resources.

Some men get pussy that way but some men are just plain stupid. I heard one girl on Tinder asked guys to send money to her on venmo in a "we'll see what happens next when you send me money" kinda situation. She blocked them afterwards, and guys were still sending her money.

Well the only solution is for men to stop being thirsty... or for the male population to be like 30% or something. Neither of which is feasible. I do notice it's partly cultural, though. I doubt a morbidly obese woman in Asia would get hit up for sex as much.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/17 01:25 PM

Ultimately I agree that male thirst is the main cause of online dating imbalances. I think the OP is saying that women of PPD underestimate the imbalances.

When you have to try that hard to get validation, it kinda defeats the purpose.

It is easier to become a slut, in terms of what it takes. You just have to be DTF. A stud life is easier than a slut life IMO, but not everyone gets to be a stud.

Gives me a headache when you abuse the word average like that. Averaging the features does not result in an average man in terms of SMV. Edit: I think US is the most attractive lol
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/17 02:52 AM

I find the first guy quite attractive (albeit average) and the second guy could be if he cleaned up some. They are both fat.

really? wow people can get rich from that.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/17 12:44 AM

With that much effort to chase pussy, isn't it better to just pay for escorts? You save time and use the money you would spend on drinks, transportation, and meals on direct sex instead.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/17 09:36 PM

12% is where I'd like to be, too. I'd be fine with 15% for my body, but my face gets too fat at 15%.

I feel the same way. Though I think every political group is prone to censorship. It's just that feminists have the power/social capital at the moment. The cynical part of me thinks that the MRAs might do the same if they could.

I've seen girls do OHP as well. They weren't masculine looking, but they weren't lifting heavy.

I think both the male sex drive and female hypergamy served an evolutionary purpose. And both have negative elements in them.

Not a woman but I think the fake tan + oiled up + shredded look is gross, but those men look more normal when they're not on stage.

As long as women are attracted to masculine men, it won't happen. And I doubt women will be attracted to androgyny en masse any time soon. Also, body hair gross but musculature sexy

I think it's about sex rather than power. Rape is present in other animal species as well, and it's certainly not about power in the patriarchal sense that Susan Brownmiller imagines it.

I identified a lot with Dave Rubin when he started out, even though I never considered myself liberal. However, he has been pandering a lot to conservatives lately and that annoys me. I mean, you can't claim to be a 'classic liberal' and be that soft on Trump.

Depends on the jurisdiction. It's certainly illegal in most states in the US. Not sure about Canada. In any case, you're diverting life-saving resources just to shut down a talk you disagree with. I'm not a fan.

Low value in terms of SMV but if a man has money to pay for all that, he probably has values in other ways.

I don't personally care if they hate men. I'm against the left using hate as a buzzword (to push for censorship, etc.), and I'm also against anti-feminists calling feminists man-haters, as a somewhat anti-feminist myself.

I have no idea. You need to ask people who have a lot of experience hiring escorts.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/17 10:11 PM

I'm aware high-value men have sex with prostitutes, but they do it in secret. There's a social stigma against paying for sex.

It also makes the man seem low-value, I think. But then again you don't have to tell anyone about it.

I don't think you'll find too many people arguing that speech has no consequences. We realize that speech sometimes has ugly consequences, but that censorship is worse. There is no historical evidence that government censorship (in the form of hate speech laws in particular) is effective at curbing genocide. If anything, the government is usually complicit in it and will censor the disfavored group instead. Now there's a dangerous trend of equating speech with physical violence and people using …

You're ignoring the very real and measurable pair bond that forms between people in a relationship due to the release of oxytocin over time. That is what people call "love", in contrast to the infatuation known as "being in love" wich fades after the honeymoon phase. This is a very sweet explanation of love.

I used to take shot bloks for endurance sports. I would never call them health foods, though. Most people who drink orange juice regularly don't need that much energy.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/17 08:12 PM

I think there are healthier ways to get vitamin C. Orange juice is naturally sugary, and one glass of orange juice is made from more oranges than you would normally consume. Plus, it does not have fiber like real oranges. Besides, most people who eat balanced diet do not have vitamin C deficiency.

It just sounds authoritarian lol. Maybe a better world than Wall-E nonetheless
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/17 05:17 PM

People also tend to underestimate the number of calories they eat. I know fat people who are delusional/in denial about how much they actually consume. It's interesting that all my friends who do bodybuilding don't really have trouble cutting. Somehow the idea is elusive for regular people.

Seeing how massive diversity efforts have played out in college campuses, I think they're actually counter-productive at preventing group-think. Diversity-minded people only care about cosmetic diversity, not diversity of thought.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/17 03:21 PM

Would I still be allowed to diet and work out? If so, I'd pick an ugly woman. I could just get a nice body and wear makeup. If not, I'd pick ugly rich man > ugly rich woman > ugly poor woman > ugly poor man.

I think this is a good observation. I'm a little sick of semi-male-bashing articles my female friends share on facebook from xojane, jezebel, etc. My male friends don't share equivalent shit from the male side. Recently I saw a buzzfeed article about different types of fuckboys (don't want to link it because I don't want to give them clicks). Imagine a mainstream media site writing an article about 'different types of sluts.'

100,000 people also include sexually inactive people. So, if you have sex, the chance that you encounter someone with gonorrhea is higher than 120 in 100,000. But this can be offset by the fact that transmission rate is not 100% when you have sex with someone with gonorrhea. Per encounter rates are hard to estimate, and they depend on what sexual activities you do, but the exact sentence you said does not mathematically follow from the information in the link.

Chlamydia is more common among heterosexual people. The population rate of 1 in 1000 doesn't mean 1 in 1000 chance of transmission per encounter.
