-9	My son asked me, "Dad, how did you know how to be a great dad when your father wasn't?" It's a nice sentiment, but of dubious value as parenting advice. Parents aren't supposed to just give their children everything the children think that they want, and good parenting is more complicated than just the opposite of abuse or neglect. 2	I was wondering, why can women hold hands and show affection in public, but for men it's taboo? If you don't feel that it's intrinsically, inexplicably wrong, then it's not exactly a taboo (and if you did, you wouldn't ask the question). A taboo is merely a moral axiom; like any axiom, you have to accept it on principle, or not. Anyway, that really depends on where (and when) you live/were raised.
