The old(ish) cat ladies I know are not career women although they all have steady jobs. One most definately was a hard core party girl. Another was a free spirit hippy chick in her youth. Both were very pretty in their youth; both are divorced; the second has grown kids. The third one I know is a weird combination of socially awkward and brash. She's divorced with a teenage kid.

My 1st ex-wife got into an argument with the drummer of the old punk band SNFU. Ended with me smashing his head into the sidewalk -- but not before that asshole bit me.

If 4% of the population is unemployed it's a personal issue. If 40% of the population is unemployed it becomes a societal issue. If the number of disaffected men grows large enough it most certainly is a societal issue regardless of the reason for their disaffection. Disaffected men determined the outcome of the recent election. Women will suffer as a result (not a good thing).

Bully by "being honest" or "just trying to help" is nothing new. However, it's always been more of a female thing. This is how girls and women most often bully. Females love plausible deniability. If called on their shit girls/women will act all surprised and hurt: "What did I do? ... I was only trying to help."

Unlike on TV, in reality, which cases are valid and which are BS is totally clear most of the time.

I've only had a handful of rape cases (they're very rare). The third and fourth case were the allegations proved false had courses of conduct that clearly showed the sex was consensual but the women didn't want to admit that they did it voluntarily. In one case the young woman wanted to avoid being beaten by her violent father. In the other case the woman want to avoid the scorn of judgmental friends. In cases where the accusations were valid the courses of conduct by all involved were very diff…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/24 04:19 PM

No it's not. It's actually way less common than people imagine. Rape is (thankfully) a very rare crime. Regretful sex is not rape.

News stories are hardly representative. Rape cases are actually very rare. I've handled more murder cases than rape cases.

Not couldn't prove it. Actual false allegations. The most recent guy is really lucky he left his i-phone recording. Another is lucky a security guard observed the act -- but strangely was never interviewed by police -- took our investigator several months to find him.

I have degrees in geology, science education, and law. Almost no religious people in geology. Very few in law. A few more in education. Many of my fellow education students weren't too smart. Disturbingly dumb actually.

Pretty much every intellectual since the dawn of time until very recently had to pretend to be religious.

Einstein's religion wasn't anything like what most people think of as religion. It was basically just wonder of the natural world and universe around us.

I have three degrees. I've studied in three countries, on two continents, in multiple cities, states, and provinces. The number of religious people in advanced education is vanishingly small.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/24 06:21 PM

Only about 5% of the population is highly intelligent so that's going to eliminate most prospects. Most highly intelligent college graduates are not religious. So based on just those three criteria you've eliminated pretty much everyone.

Problems start when the guy fails to meet her expectations (reasonable or not). For example; if she was expecting him to make partner within five years but instead he gets pushed out and takes a government job she's not going to be happy. It doesn't matter that he's still making more than 90% of men -- she was expecting more. When a guy fails to meet expectations it's like when a stock fails to meet analysts' projections. Doesn't matter that the company is still profitable it's stock falls.

The related concept of archetypes is more useful. Everyone likes to think that they're special snowflakes. However, we're not. There are patterns of human behavior that can be identified and that repeat. People fall into identifiable psychological groups that have little to do with gender, or race, or ethnicity. Example: About a third of the world's population -- across race -- across gender -- across ethnicity -- seems to be programmed to be xenophobic, clannish, and authoritarian.

Stereotypes that gain traction usually have some truth to them. However, that basis is viewed through a hateful lens. For example ,in America, there is an old stereotype dating back hundreds of years that black people are shiftless and lazy. This stereotype had its genesis is slavery. It makes perfect sense that people in bondage would resist anyway they could. But viewed through a slave owners lens this normal reasonable behavior became a sign of mora inferiority.

I still use my VHS. I still have a road atlas in my car which doesn't have GPS or a touch screen. OP isn't all wrong though. Women do indeed pay little attention to most men. The guys women notice are indeed noticed by multiple women. Those noticed guys do indeed often take female attention for granted -- but it's usually not on purpose. Most noticed guys aren't assholes. Indeed they're often quite objectively and actually nice. Why wouldn't they be life's been good to them.

THIS! Things haven't changed much. I've been single multiple times since I entered high school in the late 1970s. I gain weight very easily so my weight has fluctuated quite a bit over my adult life. When I'm under 230 lbs (I'm 6'4") meeting women is no problem. That was true in 1984 and it's still true in 2024.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/24 03:49 PM

Then there's the totally random things that affect people's lives. The job I have opened up because my predecessor died after he drove into a redwood tree.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/24 03:38 PM

Nothing is stopping young men from going to college. Deindustrialization happened to Gen-X (and the tail end of the baby boom). Today's blue collar environment is actually better than it has been anytime in the last 50 years. Thinking women having opportunity somehow degrades men is both a fucked up point of view and not true. It's not a zero sum game. We all benefit socially and economically when we all get to participate fully.

You don't talk about sex -- you just do it -- or not. If not then you just move on. I've had sex with 57 different women on two continents, in four countries, two Canadian provinces, and ten American states. Never once did I discuss sex, or negotiate the terms of sex, before having sex.

Apparently you didn't open and read the link. This was 3% for the users of a family tree DNA service (like Ancestry or 23 and Me.) Users of such services probably have higher than average socioeconomic standing which is associated with more stable families. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the actual population wide number of not parent expected events was significantly higher than 3%.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 06:48 PM

Whenever women level up they think they deserve better. This is glaringly true for married women who lose weight. Having weight loss surgery doubles divorce rates. https://www.upmc.com/media/news/072022-bariatrics
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 03:04 PM

Women will absolutely leave a dude if she has leveled up in any way. THIS!!! When a woman is struggling of course her guy needs to accept and support her. When a woman levels up she obviously "deserves better".

It's a true statement. Women who had sex only infrequently with one partner can fuck like a rabbit in heat with the next. If the sex is based on actual attraction rather than obligation frequency stays high year after year -- even decade after decade. My 1st ex-wife and I had sex 15 to 20 times every week for 17 years. Right up until the very end when she was having sex with another guy too (a 6'6" former Marine). So yes. Women love to fuck guys they're attracted to.

people who have to give half their business profits to their ex spouse. It’s better to just get have a working spouse and then you avoid it. Yup! That's exactly how it works. Because men in red states are doing so well. Dating is an issue only tangentially related to politics. For the most part the interests of men and women align. Policies that are good for women like reproductive rights, childcare, healthcare, affordable education ... are also good for men. It's almost as if men and women live together in the same world. Ironically the Biden years have been some of the best for men since the 1970s. Job growth has been concentrated in male dominated blue collar fiel…

You (and many other people) misunderstand the 20/80 (or perhaps now the 5/95) rule. The rule doesn't say that only top guys get sex or relationships. It says that only top guys thrive. Top guys get enough female attention that dating and finding relationships isn't a soul sucking, ego crushing endeavour. The fact that Billy Beta will most likely eventually find a woman willing to settle for him doesn't undermine the rule.

Just because lots of people are doing it doesn't mean it's not crazy. Irrational faith is required for all religion. That's why I'm an atheist. Mega churches take the irrational bullshit to the next level. I can deal with people who keep religion in the background and attend to the secular issues of life rationally. I've never met a person who attended a mega church who didn't let the irrational aspects of religion dominate their life. So again -- hard fucking pass on mega church goers.

Lots of people make too big a deal about domestic violence. The vast majority is low level -- just stupid people being stupid. There's most often elements of mutual combat. Police often arrest the wrong person. Police often arest one partner this week and the other next week.

99% of domestic violence is nowhere near that serious. Some of the most serious cases I've handled involved lesbians. BTW I've handled several thousand domestic violence cases over the last 20 years.

Classic straw man argument. Create a parody of the red pill to prove its bad. All the red pill really did was expose female nature.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/24 09:16 PM

But female math: Women only notice 20% of guys. An "average" guy women notice is thus 90th percentile. Anything less is below average to women. Thus an 89th percentile guy is below average.

/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:36 PM

Back when I did this shit for a living my hands were way tougher.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 10:48 PM

Yup, now pretty much every muscle in my upper body is twitching. People used to do stuff like this all the time but now we have machines for most of it. If I were at a location with readily available equipment rentals I would have got a bobcat with a jackhammer attachment. But since that was logistically inconvenient I'm doing things old school.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 08:48 PM

I've gone soft. 3 hours of actual work (busting up a sidewalk with a sledgehammer) and I have blisters on both hands. Might have to revisit my gloves are for pussies rule.

/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 03:04 AM

Social science BS is hardly reliable data.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 03:00 AM

The rule doesn't mean lesser guys are totally shut out. It just means that top guys score way more often.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 02:15 AM

You really need to stop equating prostitution with attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 02:04 AM

Buying women is an entirely different game.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 01:15 AM

It certainly supports it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 01:00 AM

Stop trying to quantify this with false precision. The way of the world is readily apparent when you compare women's dating app history to that of men. You don't need to do any statistical analysis. The difference is blatantly obvious. To quote Bob Dylan "you don't need to be a weatherman to know which way the wind blows."
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:38 AM

Compare female and male Tinder history. Everyone knows that almost any woman can get a date within an hour or two on dating apps. Everyone also knows that ordinary men -- not hideous, just ordinary men -- can go months or even years without a date despite significant efforts.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:31 AM

Nerd and attractive aren't mutually exclusive. Indeed nerdiness and hotness are independent variables.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:27 AM

Sorry, but hot guys (which can't be reduced to measurable data points) just need to be not terrible personality wise.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:24 AM

Men don't seem to understand that attractiveness can't really be quantified. It's a holistic measure.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:21 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:18 AM

Women aren't delusional -- they know which guys are hot and which guys aren't. They'd just rather be with a hot guy occasionally than a not hot guy all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:17 AM

LOL. Nerd girls like hot guys. Fat women like hot guys. Homely women like hot guys. ...
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:15 AM

It's proved everyday -- over and over -- on every dating app.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:14 AM

It's been proved by crowd sourced data. The lived dating experience of men proves it. Those of us who actually have some friends and acquaintances know that hot guys get lots of dates, ordinary guys get leftover scraps and crumbs, and unattractive guys starve. The 80/20 rule never said that only the top tier get dates/sex. It's that the top tier gets a disproportionate amount of female attention. It's a measure of inequality.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:13 AM

What's changed is that it's more like the 90/10 rule now.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 12:07 AM

This is nothing new. Over 40 years ago I was walking down the main drag in my city with my new GF. We were both 18. A pretty girl in short shorts walked by and my head swiveled. As my eyes turned forward again my GF punched me in the face knocking me on my butt (the only time I've ever been knocked down with a punch). My GF stomped off and I had to run after her apologizing.

63% of African American females are single - date outside your race and culture. Just because they're not married doesn't mean they're single. Also, Black women have no desire to fuck or date Billy Beta. The masculinity bar to date Black women is actually higher than that of white women.

I have three degrees, professional credentials, and a six figure career. None of that ever got me laid. The fact I'm 6'4" and not ugly has been getting me laid for the last four decades. I got laid most when I was a broke ass 19 year old college student (and construction worker during the summer).

It's not a zero sum game. You can't just split this 50/50, 60/40, or whatever. Some luck guys have lots of both Alpha and Beta qualities. Some unlucky guys have little of either.

Agree. Women don't reward loyalty and hard work. Men need to be more selfish. Men have to put themselves first more. Guys need to stop working overtime and second jobs to pay for stuff she wants. Guys need to go to the gym instead. Guys need to play whatever sports they enjoy instead. ...

It was much easier to approach men in "designated" places like bars Works like that for guys too. I don't think I've ever just walked up to a woman on the street. The closest I came was walking up and talking to a girl at a music festival.

/r/PurplePillDebate10/11/24 08:04 PM

50th percentile is 5'9", pudgy, with a so so face. This guy is way better than that.

I'm aware of how manditory reporting works.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 04:21 PM
6

You're the one grasping at straws. Yeast infections are not reportable STDs. They don't get reported to public health officials. Thus aren't part of official STD stats.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 03:36 PM
9

Crime stats are generally unreliable except for homicides and auto thefts. Dead bodies freak people out so they go to the cops (auto thefts are reported because you need a police report number for insurance claims). STDs are like homicides -- they freak people out. When people think they have an STD they go to the doctor (even if it's just the local STD clinic). The numbers doctors are required to report are therefore quite accurate. Increased STD rates are good proxy measurements for increased …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 12:30 PM

It's the changes in rates of infection that are telling. Biology is constant. Changing rates indicate changing behavior.

24

The majority of blue pill theory is head in sand.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 12:19 PM

That fact is irrelevant with regard to changing rates. Biology hasn't changed. A significant increase in female STD rates indicates a significant change in female behavior.

No. It's just a raw deal. You'll be expected to provide for a child whose loyalties will be divided at best. When the inevitable conflict arises mom will almost always take the child's side. Your role will be to just shut the fuck up, go to work, and pay.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/24 02:10 PM

I did enjoy providing. A friend once noted that I "never buy anything for myself". I was actually proud of that. I was a giant grade A chump. Once she had happily taken everything I had to provide I was unceremoniously kicked to the curb.

Last time I was in Vegas I walked around The Strip and associated malls for several hours people watching. I observed lots of older (over 35) couples who were fairly well looks matched. When it came to younger couples (under 35) the guy was almost always better looking. I also saw many groups of young women that included both attractive and unattractive members. Notably absent were unattractive young men -- apparently ugly young guys don't go out anymore.

Not my thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/24 06:02 PM

It's mostly genetics. Two 400 pound women from my hometown both had weight loss surgery at the same time (they were best friends). Neither was particularly good at following doctors' orders. One lost almost 300 pounds and became painfully skinny. The other only lost about 100 pounds before plateauing.

It's more like 95% and it's for all behaviour modification weight loss attempts (not just dieting). Even weight loss surgery has only about a 50% long term success rate. Even those numbers are suspect since success is measured very broadly.

It's never over until you're in the ground. But the longer you wait the harder it's going to be. Also, have reasonable expectations. Catching up 100% isn't likely to be in your cards.

Jr. high, high school, and college are when and where people learn to socialize. If you missed that window of opportunity it's going to be much harder to learn later. It's like learning a language as an adult rather than as a child. It can be done but it's much harder and you're unlikely to ever be really fluent.

IQ is useless without social intelligence Very true. Fortunately the two often go together. The one dimensional intelligence on the classic STEM nerd is the exception rather than the rule. There's a positive correlation between different types of intelligence. Most smart guys have above average social intelligence. Unfortunate smart guys who lack social intelligence tend to focus on academics and are overrepresented in colleges and universities -- especially in STEM. The more numerous smart guys…

At bars/clubs women aren't hooking up with top 1% guys -- they're hooking up with the middle of the subset of guys they notice. Women don't even notice the bottom 80% of guys (bars and clubs are full of these invisible guys). So an "ordinary" guy is the middle of the subset of guys women actually notice. Thus, ordinary = 90th percentile.

Looks can't be broken down into measurements. It's a holistic assessment. On average women prefer tall guys but just because someone is tall doesn't mean he's attractive. For example, my GF is always complaining our house isn't nice enough to have people over. If she made 200K I'd be great -- lets get a bigger nicer house. I'm not going to be intimidated -- I make six figures -- why wouldn't I want my significant other to make at least as much.

Celebrate. This is obviously a good thing. I'd love it if my GF earned more than me.

Most women find only 2 or 3 percent of men attractive. But attraction is not random. About 20% of guys are found attractive by enough women that dating isn't a horrific struggle. Another 40% of guys will be found attractive by a few women. The remaining bottom 40% aren't found attractive by any women.

None of this is new. It's been like this for at least the last half century. The only thing that's changed is that now the cat is out of the bag.

So you're saying adult women (18 and over) are incapable of making their own life choices? Adults are free to make their own decisions. This includes the freedom to make decisions others deem unwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 06:34 AM

Not going to disagree. I would have hoped Israeli leadership would have been smart enough to not follow Hamas down this geocidal rabbit hole.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 07:42 PM

Grossly disproportionate Palestinian deaths were part of the plan. Israel's tactical victories are Hamas strategic victories. The last year has seen support for Israel plummeting. Hamas as evil bastards but they're winning my sacrificing their own people.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 07:35 PM

Hamas did indeed start this round. Hamas doesn't care about either Israeli lives or Palestinian lives. They've sacrificed tens of thousands of their own people to make Netanyahu/Israel look bad. But they've played Netanyahu masterfully. Hamas counted on a grossly disproportionate response to October 7th. Netanyahu didn't disappoint.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 07:29 PM

Hamas are evil bastards -- they killed scores of unarmed Israeli civilians to goad Netanyahu into a disproportionate response sacrificing tens of thousands of their own people in the process. Hamas has played Netanyahu like a fiddle.

Of all deaths with known pregnancy status, 3,203 were by homicide (30.8%) and 7,208 (69.2%) were by suicide. ... The second link only compares homicide of pregnant women to "the three leading obstetric causes of maternal mortality (hypertensive disorders, haemorrhage, or sepsis)." /r/PurplePillDebate04/10/24 02:42 PM

Might as well skip the entire class if you're going to get in trouble anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/24 02:39 PM

Inexperience -- LOL -- hell no! Most women in abusive relationships have been around the block many times. Like the time a local woman got beat up by both her husband and her boyfriend in the same week. Me and the DA laughed about that one. Don't feel sorry for her -- she's in prison now for having her son break her stepson's leg with a baseball bat (her son's in prison too).

Consent and enjoyment are two different things. Women are adults with agency. Women can consent to things they know they won't enjoy. People are free to make poor choices -- or choices they may regret later -- or choices other people wouldn't make.

Men work longer hours. Men have more seniority. Men choose college majors that pay more. Men choose to train for well paying trades. Men choose unpleasant and/or dangerous jobs that pay more. That's the wage gap. Women can eliminate it anytime they want. Women can do any or all the above. They choose not to. .

OP's assertion presupposes most men actually talk about women the way Trump does. They don't. Most "locker room talk" is boring AF. Young guys talk about their cars, or motorcycle, or about getting drunk. Middle age men talk about home improvement projects. Old guys talk about their ailments. I've been in a lot of locker rooms over the last 45 years starting when I was a high school athelete. I've never -- not even once -- heard anyone talk like Trump asserts they do.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/24 03:20 PM

Sexual/romantic connection is one of the most important parts of life. What good is millions of dollars if you're alone? Feminism has empowered women to choose who they want to fuck. They're predominantly choosing to fuck attractive guys even when they know he's not interested in a relationship with them. Since women only find a small percentage of men attractive this leaves a lot of men shutout. This isn't necessarily a bad thing -- women having agency is good -- but it comes with consequences.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/24 12:02 PM

Women have a habit of defining disloyalty as something other than cheating. "It was already over." "We were taking a break." "If he (BF/husband) hadn't ... (whatever) ... it would never have happened."
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/24 01:24 AM

Focusing on yourself becomes increasingly important as guys age. You have to focus on yourself to remain attractive. You have to focus on yourself to become successful. Lucky me. I get to have her when she's a broken down 56.

Theoretically, however, in the Western World almost all smart young people go to college.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 04:32 PM

Not at three months.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 03:49 PM

Unless they're almost ready to pop young pregnant women can stand like everyone else. Equality baby.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 03:48 PM

Yet college educated women are increasingly the only ones getting married.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 03:46 PM

You're rather they be dumb, barefoot, and pregnant?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 03:45 PM

The guys they went to college with and who they will eventually marry were partying too.

I could write a book. I'll just give three examples here: A high school GF dumped me. When I asked her why she said I had a "funny body" (she wasn't wrong, I managed to be both tall and gangly and fat at the same time). 40 years later, when I'm a successful professional and she's on disability after her knee replacement surgeries didn't go so well, she contacted me to "catch up". My 1st ex-wife cheated on me with a 6'6" drug dealing former Marine with washboard abs. She got addicted (to both him…

I hate being pampered. It's usually totally insincere. Whenever a woman does it the first thing I think is, what does she want. Or it gets thrown back in your face later. The "I did everything for you" BS where the "everything" is just superficial shit.

In the long run yes. However, women can use apps to hookup with more attractive guys. This temporarily inflates their egos and self-rating. Eventually, life experience corrects this -- but that can take years.

The level of fitness required for good health is much easier to attain than the level of fitness required to attract young hotties. Indeed acquiring and maintaining the amount of muscle women now think of as normal can negatively impact your health. The last doctor I had was a tall thin runner type. Seemed to be in great health for an older guy but I doubt young women were lining up to fuck him.

They do. Older women hook up with younger guys for sex all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/24 02:04 PM

The problem with this argument is that an old dude isn't getting a young hottie unless he's a phenomenally attractive old dude. For most guys this just isn't possible -- they don't have the genetics. For the very few old dudes who might be able to pull it off it requires constant work to remain in good enough shape for young hotties. It takes way more "improving" to go young.

They're easy and fun. Infants sleep all day. Toddlers and preschoolers are easy to entertain. I'd take mine to the local playground. I could sit on a bench and read for several hours. When we got back home the kids would take a three hour nap. I did this even in winter. Put them in their snow suits and let them go.

Yeah, one 13-year-old can be fun to interact with. A room full of 30+ 13-year-olds is no fun at all. I hated teaching (they always gave me the worst jr. high classes).

Birthrate BS dressed up in ill applied sociology. Durkheim's anomie applied to people adrift outside society -- not to people actively engaged in struggles to change society. Also, the vast majority of women work. The ideal family has shifted from "Father Knows Best" to a partnership of equals. Like any partnership the division of responsibilities and labor is subject to ongoing negotiation. Fathers today (married or not) are far more involved in their children's lives than the stereotypical 195…

Edmonton hasn't been conservative since the 1970s. There's a reason they call it "Redmonton."
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 04:53 PM

Vancouver Island is beautiful but it's always been a bitch to make a living there. Edmonton is probably the easiest place in North America for working class people to raise a family. Jobs are plentiful and pay reasonably well, housing isn't cheap but it's not insane, the city has great infrastructure for families (everything from daycares in elementary schools, to playgrounds, to bike trails, swimming pools and skating rinks).

/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 03:55 PM

Yup. Capitalism wanted atomized commodified workers. They got that. Now they're surprised Pikachu faced that family formation has tanked.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 03:49 PM

I raised my first two kids in Edmonton working blue collar gigs no problem. It was actually easier than in the USA.

Nice two bedroom apartments can be had in the less trendy parts of the Bay Area for about $2,400. An acquaintance lives in one in American Canyon. Even secretaries with no specific skills make 60K in the Bay Area. A family with a secretary making 60K and (for example) a truck driver making 80K can easily afford that. Lots do -- my acquaintance's complex is full of kids.

The bank has agency too. The bank can choose not to loan to a drunk. Payday loan people most likely won't give a shit.

I was both a young parent and an old parent (two different baby mamas) I have 9 grandkids with two more in the pipeline. I'll be playing with a couple of them this evening. The quality of daycare today is far better than in the 1980s. There were way more crack houses back then. Kids don't give a shit whose name is on the title of the building they live in. Lots of rental complexes are great places to raise kids (lots of other parents and kids to socialize with).
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 03:08 PM

Voluntary intoxication is not a get out of consequences card. People who choose to drink are still responsible for their actions after all it was their choice to get plastered. To void a contract it would have to be proven that the drunk person didn't intend to enter the contract -- not just that he/she now regrets entering the contract. A contract signed by a person who was unknowingly drugged would not be valid.

Fracking has been used for decades. It's a legit process. What's needed are controls on the chemicals used (more than just water/steam is injected). Also, oil and gas companies need to be held to account for externalities (i.e. groundwater contamination, road damage, subsidence/earthquake, ...). The solution isn't either "drill baby drill" or a total ban.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 02:47 PM

I'm 60, but my youngest daughter is only 13. It was only a few years ago that I was paying over $2,500 a month for daycare. That said poor people often don't pay list price for daycare. I know I didn't for my two oldest kids back in the late 80s and early 90s. I live in California. Obviously poor people aren't buying houses. However, today's inflated pay scales pretty much mirror today's inflated rents. Renting has never been easy for poor people. The good job market over the last decade has sig…

Raising kids is insanely expensive If you let it be. It actually doesn't take much to keep baby homo sapiens alive. My 1st ex-wife went into labor in the local welfare office. Our son turned out fine. He's a medical professional with three degrees who's been making six figures since his mid 20's. He's married to another medical professional. They have 4 kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 02:08 PM

I had 2 kids with my 2nd ex-wife after we got married when she was 37 and I was 43. They're both in high school now and doing very well. My littlest was born when my ex was 39. She tested into her school district's gifted student program and pretty much always gets straight A's. Her sister's grades aren't quite as good but they're not bad -- she's also a very gifted artist.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 02:03 PM

Upper middle class professionals generally don't give a shit about women's n-count. They realize that women from their social class almost all had some fun in college.

There's no legal duty to report crime in Canada or the USA.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 01:51 PM

Police in my little California town respond to emergency calls within minutes. If you're out in the county sheriff deputies will start rolling immediately but depending on where you are it may take up to an hour for them to reach the scene.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 09:57 AM

Long time ago when I trained to be a lifeguard they taught us to never attempt a rescue you don't feel confident you can complete otherwise there may be two people in need of rescue. The same logic applies to violent crime situations. If the circumstances indicate that you can effectively intervene without undue risk the decent human thing is to do so. If the situation is beyond that call 911.

Individual women find only a few percent of men attractive. They don't find exactly the same men attractive but there is a lot of overlap. Population wide about 20% of men have a constuency -- a group of women large enough so that for those top 20% of guys dating doesn't total suck.
