It's fine, it's polite, it's not inappropriate. It doesn't mean that whiffing it won't blow up in his face or that someone has to be at fault for that to happen. I witnessed a man ask out a young woman at a community market event. She gave her age- turned out to be a mature-looking teenager, no older than fifteen. He immediately began backpedaling, stammering how he never would've if he'd known. And it was like his brain was frozen, the way he kept explaining himself, stuck on a loop. "Why are y…

Peak strength is early-mid twenties. Peak estrogen levels, late twenties maybe early thirties. Beauty correlates with both. Room for improvement in other arguably more important facets of life does not impede this fact. For what it's worth, men aging well is also cherry-picked delusion.

Modern expectations don't make it easy, I agree, but I can't fathom too many folks wanting a return to old timey compartmentalization. A union of his and hers with barely overlapping spheres? Maybe back when marriage was primarily economic. Nowadays people aspire to have soulmates. Why settle for less? I confess I do roll my eyes (figuratively) whenever newlyweds speak of having married their best friend. That's just me being a hater. Love can be corny, and I'm happy for them even while I cringe…

Loyalty and dedication are very desirable for longterm employment, yes! Whether or not someone is capable of sticking to their commitments is a legitimate concern. And historically lots of folks have stuck with the same company through retirement, so it's understandable to wish for the circumstances of yesteryear, believing that, back then, both sides upheld their end of the bargain. It's a rosy picture of the past. Whatever the reason, people nowadays aren't staying at the same frequency. They'…

Everyone starts out with no experience, and some people never gain any. What is it that you're trying to say?

Employers can hire whomever they want, and employees can feel some kinda way about being passed over or let go. I'm not here to argue high n. (Except to say, they're not felons, they're job-hoppers. Valid red flag, I guess.) I want to talk average, whatever average might be. Why should the average person have to promise their next employer the exact same output they gave their first? Why should their earnings depend on previous income, rather than whether or not they meet the requirements listed…

In my case I never did actually seal the deal but. I think it still counts, since I was ready on my end even if we never did get that far. What I liked about him could be rotely summed up as "he made me feel safe and heard" except it wasn't just that. I was already predisposed before any such judgment could be made. While the subsequent green flags did help to tip over into feeling ready for intimacy, there had to that initial special something for all that to register, and it's hard to describe…

No record is the societal default, so not sure where you're going with that analogy. Picture this instead. A prospective employer wants to lowball you, lower than the wages you took at the beginning of your career, because all your experience and knowledge means diddly squat to them. They want someone young who's bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready to work long hours without asking questions, not some bitter has-been with creaky joints. If they're going to hire you, they'll pay you less. Know…

It was like a whole journal entry of an episode that had been an open question mark from years and years ago. Dunno if we're allowed to discuss other threads if they're old and buried, but this daily's almost expired, so! The OP was talking about his friend feeling like dates weren't genuinely interested despite getting laid quickly. One reason the friend gave was texting speed, or something like that. I addressed that saying texting first isn't just an indicator of interest, it could be due to …

Paragraphs upon paragraphs, I tell you, long enough to exceed the word count! I was torn between relief and disappointment when I realized my comments never saw the light of day.

You can throw away your sperm rather than pass it to a woman. If she tries to steal it, she is in the wrong. Old men should not be able to send young men into war, I agree.

This account of mine is one month old now. How time flies! It seems just like yesterday, when my comments were still getting caught in the CQS filter...I wonder if they're still stuck in some lint trap that only mods can see, or if they're gone gone for good by now. One was an embarrassingly long essay I wrote, which I briefly considered reposting when enough karma had accumulated, but then the topic OP went and deleted his account. Oh well. Hope he's enjoying life touching grass somewhere fun

RE energy, it's probably another male variability thing. Most of the extreme thrill seekers are men, so maybe the other end of the bell curve is also surprisingly well populated by men? Without whom the average lifespan might be even lower, ha. It's a lifestyle, I guess. Some people have zero curiosity, and I find that mind-boggling. Routine is important and so is comfort, but our big brains were meant for lifelong learning, for exposure to new experiences. That's why we're adapted to playing we…

Not living in a village is an aberration. Not that I'm claiming village life to be better (I am also a creature of solitude) but historically what other option was there? How did people meet if not by routine?

Hmm, I'm trying to think of an equal demand in a hetero relationship, where the man might be lambasted for his while the woman wouldn't. Maybe preferences in shaving? Although that's not quite the same, what he does with his face versus what she does with her legs. It is unfair, however, if her opinions on his grooming and wardrobe are given outsized weight. It's unfair that if he has a strong opinion about how she looks then he's being controlling and objectifying, whereas she'd be seen as exas…

Because their PUA precursors didn’t care. And they care about their own problems, not the problems of other men. You might be thinking of MRAs

It's not healthy for other mammals either. Many a "trojan cat" is basically a tween mom who'd benefit from spaybortion whenever possible. We're not felines, though. Our closet relatives seem to share social mores as well. I forget where I read it, an account of a troupe of...chimpanzees? In which the alpha ruled with an iron fist, until the lesser males banded together to jump him and toss him out, when he attacked an underage female. Morality may not have anything to do with that -the moment to…
