I’m finding that being on this sub is making me so aware of how women are portrayed in movies snd TV and it’s heartbreaking. I wish I knew then what I know now.

I have my own garage full of tools, so I can continue my home improvement projects. I’ve remodeled two bathrooms and I’m now on the kitchen. I redid my old small condo, sold it and bought a house that was a blank slate. I absolutely love working with tools, respect them and enjoy the finished product, knowing I did that.

This one saddened me the most. Women are just a number (age, weight, and price) to these men.

I can’t imagine all of the messages you receive, and have to filter through. Thank you for your time and efforts in maintaining this sub.

I got married at 20 and he cheated. I recently came across a letter I had written him shortly after finding out about his cheating (I took the letter back when I moved out). Boy was I desperate to be loved. I have saved that letter to remind myself of how far I've come. I blamed myself in part to my upbringing and thinking that I should been able to stop him. Sheesh.

Yea, I learned early on in life, after my divorce at 23 that I was capable of making my own happiness, money, and security, regardless of what my boomer parents taught me.

This is my experience 100%. I am learning by reading books, cbt, this sub and getting a hold of my anxiety by getting a proper diagnosis of adhd. I am learning how to spot the warning signs of lvm pretending to be hvm. I did date a great guy a few months back, but the chemistry wasn’t there. I will continue my journey of self discovery and whether or not I meet someone, I am certainly enough just the way I am.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
