We don't exist to be anything. And trying for the easy out just lead to more suffering. You choose your poison. Kids, drugs, loneliness.

Have you tried asking her how she would like to have sex? She may not want the usual sex but would really like another one that she never told you about because she never thought about telling you how she wants it. She also may need more space to get into the mood, like if the kids are with the grandparents and after a long bath. It's worth talking to her about it at least.

If feel like the best is somewhere in between. When you both are at an extreme and communicate you end up in that optimal zone where the is not too much nor too little appointment. But yeah I agreed with you. For me the worse was that she was never satisfied with our living situation. To small appartement, too far from her parent, too close to her parent. While I had to make a 3h commute and she wasn't even happy about it. In retrospective she was mostly unhappy with herself. It's her loss, I kn…

Whatever age it is, their parents are the example on which they will base themselves. If their image from their dad is that he is not happy and is being thrown shit by their partner then THAT is gonna be their normal If their image is from a dad that did not accept to be treated like shit, that did something about it and tried his best to be happy and enjoy life then that is gonna be their normal. My kid's life is less stable since the separation but I see how my example is already doing good fo…

Give yourself time. Emotions are messages that your body gives you, they stay for a couple minutes, if they stay longer that you need to stop thinking about it and do something else, when the emotion is gone ask yourself what message was the body sending. About going back with her, just remember that it's takes 2 to make a couple, as hard as you want to you can't do it for her. It is ok to want to get back together, trying to deny that is just gonna push that further. It's not that "WE didn't tr…

Having friends that can be there for you and listen without having to fix anything about the situation is the best way to go through this. You don't burden them. If they know they don't have to fix the situation and the 'ranting' takes 5 or 10 minutes max I don't see how they would be annoyed. They would only get annoyed if they thought they needed find a way for you to fix it or if it was the only thing you talked about.

There are 2 kinds of people. Those that will judge you and cut you from their life. Trust me, they are doing you a favor. Those that will come to you with what she said and will have a conversation about it. Whatever you did in you past, it happened and is a part of you that you want it or not. These people will accept you as you are and you ex wife is gonna go down in their esteem each time she tries to say bad thing about you until they literally can't stand her talking. Those are the one you …

She's with an ugly dumb dude, is stugling mentally and financially, sees her 5 years old daughter 2-3 days a month. My kid's mom is a mess now, but now at least I can see she was a mess before too.

My experience is that when the mutual friend will learn the whole story they are gonna ask themselves why she didnt mention it herself. She's damaging her relation with her friend for some temporary consolation.

My experience is that if she's trashing you beyond real stuff most people will start suspecting she's lying and not taking her seriously or actually talk to you about it. Personnally I own all of my mistakes so I wouldn't mind that much. Yeah I wasnt as supportive as I should have been, I've learned and corrected my mistakes so what do you want to shame me with.

Having two happy parents is more important to kids than having a bigger more stable home with 2 unhappy parents. Limiting the anger and yelling and showing them its hard but you're working on being happy is the best example you can show them.

I'm keeping photo of her, the same as I'm keeping photos of dinners, random insects I saw and so many other stuff, I have a problem😆

My ex who didn't want kids for the longest time, had a kid but barely ever played with her divorced because I didn't want other kids... Now my kid is a nightmare with them and an angel with me. I'm not putting oil on the fire but I'm not surprised. She will have a clean and organized home at her mom but will get yelled at and punished. At my home it's disorganized and messy but she's getting someone to play with and an understanding parent to help her grow up. I'm still waiting for her to unders…

My story is way less intense than most people here. Once, I was not important enough for her to stay with me. I won't make this mistake twice.

Seriously at this point I consider that the fact my ex has a boyfriend means she's missing the opportunity to grow up that I'm getting.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
