ust for a personal perspective, I'm a regular poster on /r/sex and have also commented on TIA/KIA without getting banned from /r/sex. I think you misread the post; only subreddits listed with a '1' after them are alleged to autoban commenters. I'm not sure I understand how the category is being applied to say, /r/ImGoingToHellForThis or /r/gaming I remember everyone freaking out once when /r/ImGoingToHellForThis mods decided to troll subscribers. I'm guessing it was added at that time and not re…

Yeah, I think that guy took it personally but thought he could make it sound like a joke. But it was after he'd already said something like, "what, I don't get one?"

I don't think Twitter is going to make money regardless of what they do, so they're free to do whatever as long as people keep investing in them.

They're left-wing authoritarians. Not everyone on the left is a liberal and not everyone on the right is a theocrat.

If an ethical journalist discovered that there were a mistake in an article, they'd add a note to the bottom saying "a previous version of this article contained the following information, which was later found to be mistaken:" Now, all we know for sure is that the journalist was trying to hide something. We can't determine whether he's trying to hide details of the story or hide his own mistake.

Some of the information has been removed from the article in the past week; you can still find it on other sites. It originally made it clear that the women were present at the time, and apparently did nothing while neighbors called police and tried to stop the dog. The dog was a murder weapon and they should be charged accordingly.

First thought: one year? Why wasn't this a death penalty case? Later: Oh, the website 'americanews.com' ran a story from the UK.

If anyone he meets believes he's a rapist, he can at least provide something like this article as evidence that he was exonerated and innocent. If these articles didn't have his name and face, it wouldn't be as easy to demonstrate that the accusations were false.

I agree completely. And reprisals or not, it's disgusting how the media gets away with convicting people before they're even formally charged, and especially before a jury is selected.

Normally I'd agree with you, but in this case, they've probably already publicly accused the guy of rape, so putting his name and face on an article acknowledging it as a false rape claim is probably more likely to help than hurt him.

Any organization with power seems to inevitably become corrupt and stupid, but I'm not convinced it would have to become that corrupt and stupid.

Seriously. Any time the UN has a choice between supporting freedom and supporting the power grabs of dictators, they seem to pick the dictators every time. How has that organization not been torn down and replaced with something saner yet?

In principle, with the right social mores, you could possibly develop a society where people empathize and cooperate with others rather than competing to be dominant. But that's basically the social equivalent of communism (where honor cultures are basically the social equivalent of laise faire capitalism), so it would likely experience equivalent practical problems to communism. Actually, the primary problem with communism is that it disincentivizes everyone from working and SJWism disincentivi…

There are two very powerful forces that can (and will) put the brakes on this victim culture crap -- desensitization and apathy. Interestingly, two forces also well suited to disabling an honor culture. The victim culture has already overplayed its hand and the coming backlash is already quietly churning and gaining strength like a tropical depression loitering over the Atlantic ocean. Maybe. I'd have expected it already, but there's an observer bias. Here on the internet, we see the full ugline…

It just says that they're typical SJWs. Their SOP is banning everything that doesn't fit neatly in their little bubble.

There was an article linked somewhere on Reddit last week that talked about the differences between honor cultures (people get into duels or generational feuds over perceived insults) and dignity cultures (people are expected to act like adults, getting over small offenses and letting the law handle important issues). One main point was that Western culture seems to be evolving into something else, a victimhood culture, where weakness is valued the same way strength is valued by an honor culture…

The funniest part is that she basically got a career and reputation out of her racial identification, so if she loses those now, it's rock solid proof of black privilege.

Every headline that ends in a question mark is answered by 'no' in the accompanying article. Otherwise, the headline would not need the question mark.
