Everything sounds right until the end where you didnt get what you wanted, and telling her off you're busy. You should've just not replied until you have time to do so, and when you do, do it like nothing happened, like you were busy with your own life. I cant speak to her saying no to removing hijab, I do t feel like I know this well enough culturally to say if it's a shit test or not.

I am a guy and this is a terrible way to put it. Wow. Yes be direct but dont put it like man the fuck up? He's already proving for the family, just not to the level that would provide stability that OP is looking for. I cant speak for him as to why he doesnt want to, but I have friends who chooses to work contractor basis for the flexibility of schedule and ability to choose. Having said that you do need to talk to him. I am of the opinion that it's not exactly right to ask him to take that job.…
