Thanks for the comment. I think that's what I needed to hear, just get used to eating alone and going out alone. It's not every meal or night, but it's seeming to be the majority. I should just not think about it, and do what I need to do.

Nice, that's a good idea to befriend someone at a hostel and then go to the hostel to hang out. I do see confused looking travelers with backpacks during the day, so I should just go up and say something.

That's awesome advice, thanks. I like the salsa club idea, the conversing about cuisine/restaurants and then asking to go with me to get it, and the tease about teaching them english if they show me around. I'm doing day and night game. Day game I'm more shy with in general, but I figure it's now or never, given it's probably the easiest it will ever be. Also, i'm in Santiago, but am making my way to Buenos Aires and Brazil.

I just posted something similar, as a software guy too. What's getting to me is the table for 1 at restaurants... Have you gotten to the point where you just don't care, and if you want to have a dining experience at a decent place, you'll just do it solo? The key for me is going to a decently crowded bar or club... If I don't open someone right away, I'll look like I'm on a mission, looking at my phone, and walk to the bar decisively. I feel for you. I would encourage you to read the stories of other ppl in game, a lot of successful ones got their start your age or later. It's definitely not too late and you have a lot of time ahead. My 40 year old friend is still running game and doing well. I'm about your age too fyi. I'm deaf in an ear so can somewhat relate.
