Interesting. I’m really interested to know how this played out. I don’t think she could argue towing wasn’t necessary because it appears she’s not on public property (looks like a parking lot). If that’s the case, sounds like she better hope they messed up the inventory SOP! I’m interested to know what case law exists. If it were me and there isn’t any existing case law. I’d appeal. I find that to be a convenient way around the 4th amendment. If the issue is that they could be held liable for mi…

It is not standard procedure and is a clear violation of the 4th amendment. Read my posts above and then read the case law I posted. It’s an illegal search and anything they find before they have a warrant (because there’s no probable cause) will be inadmissible in court.

As these cases come up, if you can’t find case law that matches the situation, one might go through several cases and apply similar principles from other rulings as a basis for a legal argument. There’s another case where someone tipped the police that some on had a suitcase full of marijuana. When he left the airport in a taxi, the cops pulled him over and opened the suitcase and found 10 pounds of marijuana The Supreme Court of the US ruled because luggage generally holds personal effects if t…

I haven’t dove that deep into the case law on it but I seem to remember reading a Supreme Court (or maybe appellate court) decision where a guy was arrested for driving on suspended license. They searched his vehicle and found drugs. Court ruled that they were inadmissible because DWASL didn’t present probable cause for a search. I am not sure how towing affects it, but I suspect a vehicle being towed and trying to call going through her stuff “inventory” wouldn’t stand up to probable cause ruli…

It actually might be. Speeding is not probable cause for a search. There quite a bit of case law on this.

Yeah, and it works great. Same in my house. If I heatr "hey babe I need your help" I'll come sliding into the kitchen in my socks and bellow "WHAT FEAT OF SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH IS REQUIRED OF ME?!" I live for her eye rolls lol

I really think we are privileged in many ways. I also think we fuckin earn it. The things that the world calls on us for is no joke. Women seem to conveniently forget those things when privilege comes up. I remind them.

"Have you ever had unwanted sexual contact ? (this can include an unwanted kiss, someone brushing up against you at a party, up to and including forced penetration" ffs there's a mile between a jam-packed household and someone buttfucking you while you're screaming no. But it's how they get to "1 in 5"
/r/MensRights30/01/21 05:58 AM

Exactly this. It's exactly the way they came up with the 1 in 5 rape statistic, often reported in the US media a couple years back. A 1500 person self selecting survey. Total bullshit.

While I want to believe this and can certainly see how it could be true, I think to maintain the character of the sub, we need sources. This looks like nothing more than a potentially baseless assertion. There is so much data to support facts like this, I believe we must hold ourselves to a standard that demands peer reviewed proof to maintain the credibility of our assertions.

And what the fuck? Reporting someone for suicidal thoughts? If the only context is this thread, you're a vindictive little turd. Lets see if we can get you hooked up with a ban for abuse.

You sound like you may be what is categorically a rare exception. We are always providing. But it is wayyyyyy beyond that. It really doesn't matter who provides. In American society, when shit goes south women get the kids, and men pay through the nose. It sucks, and makes marriage a poor financial decision for men. With very rare exception.

I understand what you're trying to say here, but you miss the mark. Your argument falls apart as soon as we point out all of the women these idiots support. There are plenty. They target Speaker Pelosi because she is the leader of a house of congress with which they disagree. Are they out targeting Kellyanne Conway, or Kelly Loeffler? No. Of course they aren't. They may hold sexist views, but it is not a guiding principle. This is how a female Psyops officer lead 100 men and women to storm the c…

Dude. I love my wife. She's the best person I have ever known. We have a wonderful family. That said. Don't. Do it. You can accomplish anything without indemnifying her through marriage. by simply not doing it. If she is about equality, she will know how men get financially fucked and wouldn't want that for you.

Mansplaining is a counterproductive word. It's also fair to say that before you attempt to educate anyone on a topic it's fair to ask them a question that shows you're not taking for granted they dont know about it already. Something like "are you familiar with this already? Oh you are? Ok cool!" And then move on. That's a human thing. It's a kind and effective way to be. Also, the concept didn't come from nowhere. We dudes do have a tendency to assume chicks dont know about certain shit. To be …

Ok look I’m with u/PrismMage on this. You do realize that things are sexualized well before we hit puberty? That’s here preferences generally come from. Just like gays- I don’t think anyone is born anything. I have read a few well conducted studies that suggest that turn ons are often just deep feelings of satisfaction (positive feedback) tied to specific traits or reactions, and that turnoffs spawn from the opposite. (Cross dressing/fetishes/sexuality/hair color/eye color/race etc.) I don’t see…

/r/MensRights28/12/18 07:24 PM

I agree, for sure- but I think classifying it as rapey is too much. Considering we’ve allowed it for so long that now we “rape people” with our eyes (as men only of course) nowadays. It’s trash. There’s an ocean between comments and forcing your body on someone else’s.
/r/MensRights28/12/18 07:07 PM
12

No, it doesn’t. What? Should we turn it around for you? “Weak women are intimidated by strong men.” Now does it satisfy? it isn’t “rapey” and saying that is just programming. “Rapey” is forcing yourself on someone and shouldn’t be trivialized by being mislabeled.

It’s a twist on a dumb feminism phrase. The complaint being about men ogling women who are scantily clad- people pointing out that if they’re scantily they should expect it, and the retort being- we should teach men not to look” . Doesn’t really apply here, but I see what they’re getting at.

Great post! This is what I was looking for. Thank you genuinely for your contribution. It was well worded and well thought out. While I agree with much of your supporting points, I suggest that "free to be...you and me" was counterproductive in its messaging. A great example was the "ladies first" followed by the little girl subsequently being eaten by the tiger. I think the greater message there isn't that it's not always a good thing "being first" but rather supports discomfort in ones own opi…

No you're good! I'm not thin skinned I just wanted this exact thing. I've literally been on reddit for a day. I almost lost hope for this sub. Or since I put the option out there, you could also present counter arguments to the claims Ms. Sommers makes in the book. To make the claim that my post had anything to do with "patting each other on the back" is again, confusing. Pedantic eh? Ok. I agree with the assertion based on personal experience , that young men are being emasculated both in schools and society and that this needs change. If you've read the book or have an opinion about men's rights, I'M confused about what is unclear about my question/s? Or are you simply attempting to move the attention of the conversation another direction?

Just wanted to get a relevant conversation about the book (and more importantly, the issue) started. As I go through this sub I am noticing that there aren't a whole lot of people here anymore- I'm guessing that's because it seems to have gotten away from core issues. I'm new to reddit so pardon me of I don't know all the rules yet- and feel free to school me up! I adjusted the questions at the end to allow for more pointed conversation.
