I didn't call them nuts, but let's face it, black rights, gay rights, women's rights, they can all exist without requiring any Marxist involvement. Also, all those movements predate The Frankfurt School (which most right-wing documentaries tie "cultural Marxism" back to). So if you have the independent Movements, which predate The Frankfurt School, then a group of people saying they all came from The Frankfurt School... I mean, yeah, that is pretty nutty.

Cultural Marxism is just The Frankfurt School's critique of The Culture Industry (particularly of the mass production of pop-culture, which they saw as a threat to the 'high arts' of western civilization). Similar critiques were made by The Birmingham School of "massification" (which today is known as "globalization") - the critique The Birmingham School made gets called "British Cultural Marxism" (as can be seen in this book)... then the final "Cultural Marxism" is "Thompsonian Cultural Marxism…

Yuri Bezmenov worked for RiA Novosti (a USSR owned newspaper the equivalent of Russia Today). He wrote for this outlet in India, where he met his Indian wife. This was the extent of his "subversion" - writing media propaganda for a well known Russian newspaper outlet, in India. He was let into Canada as a political asylum seeker, by Justin Trudeau's father, where his books, book tour, and this often cited interview video was funded by The John Birch Society. A self-described conservative advocac…

Oh, so now all of a sudden you're not claiming Identity Politics leads directly to gulags? Funny how you're backing off that now.

You're as mature as a child who says to their parent "WTF is this, 1930s Germany!" - that's you. "Black people think being called niggers is hate speech? WTF is this, Stalin's Russia?" -You Real mature kid, how old are you by the way? My guess is late teens, early 20s. [EDIT: Hahahaha, you literally think Identity Politics is communism. You're ridiculous.]

"I don't need to know what good things identity Politics or progressive politics are about, because I know that communism in agrarian Russia of the 1950s was bad" I mean, that's a strange thing to argue.

If you want to know the outcome of an ideology, you have to be able to distinguish between ideologies. You believe that "ALL PROGRESSIVE LEFTISM = GULAGS" (even though The Frankfurt School specifically wrote against the Soviet system), this means that you've disqualified yourself. If you don't know enough about an ideology, you can hardly claim to know the outcomes of it. In the case of "Cultural Marxism" you've already defined all rights movements (aka SJWs) as Marxism... so yeah, you've disqua…

See that's the problem talking to you; you don't feel you have to know jack shit to talk about something. You're happy to just make up your opinions out of thin air until "getting shot" is the same thing as discussing civil rights. Tell me, do you believe there's a "white genocide" going on? You clearly believe that leftism is super-global-mega-communism. Oh do you believe the banking system is run by communist jews? You clearly believe the left aims at putting you to death or in a gulag. That's…

How much does someone have to understand about leftist ideology to justify hating it? You should always have a decent and genuine attempt at understanding something from inside it, before you critique it.

SJW is just another way of saying leftist... ...also, I talk to conservatives more than progressives. No echo-chamber here... and I can tell you, most conservatives I speak too are wrong on most of the leftist concepts they claim to be against. Being against something because you think it's something else is pretty dumb in my books.

Nope didn't even read OP. I wander reddit and tell people the properly researched meaning (no, there's not 3 meanings, all 3 author groups wote on the same topic). I have no idea what OPs usage even was.... something comparable to 'SJW' - I take it. That's how conservatives use it, as a catch all for things they don't like.

Go read the Wikipedia and look at the sources. All the academic sources link it to the definition I said in my very first comment. It's a matter of where you're sourcing your meaning (come on man, this is a pretty simple concept) - it's a leftwing concept, used to describe a specific aspect of The Frankfurt School, Birmingham School, and E.P Thompson (go look at my first comment). Your problem is that you've gone to far right sources to describe a leftwing term. Why would you do that? You have n…

Jurgen Habermas was from the second generation of The Frankfurt School... he was an assistant to Adorno for the first gen but went onto to do his own work later.... still not a hotbed of post-modernism like you claim. https://www.marxists.org/subject/frankfurt-school/index.htm They didn't even refer to themselves as "The Frankfurt School" - that was a post hoc academic label (like "Cultural Marxism" is). Not being a complete gullible idiot doens't make one pretentious. Here's what Breitbart published on The Frankfurt School: "Theodor Adorno promoted degenerate atonal music to induce mental illness, including necrophilia, on a large scale." Here is the music that Breitbart claims will cause necrophilia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5Tc4mXodrI ...so yeah, not being idiotic isn't pretentious. It's just; not being an idiot. If you think music can cause necrophilia; you're probably an idiot.

I want to argue here that we need a way of rethinking the politics of recognition in a way that can help to solve, or at least mitigate, the problems of displacement and reification. This means conceptualizing struggles for recognition so that they can be integrated with struggles for redistribution, rather than displacing and undermining them. Yes, she's saying that many economic problems are automatically (and not necessarily accurately) painted as racial/recognition problems. When obviously b…

I don't actually believe The Frankfurt School aimed to destroy western civilization. I think that western civilization is pretty tough precisely because we have intellectual, political, and cultural freedoms that other places don't. These are the mechanisms The West uses to secure its underlying principles: Liberty, Fraternity and Egalitarianism (or as the French revolution had it; Liberté, égalité, fraternité)... and they involve the freedom to be critical of our society in order to improve it …

You are incorrect. Nancy Fraser was after a more genuine form of race relations which didn't lump people into groups and causes (ie a race relations which avoided making the assumption that because someone was from group X they must automatically believe Y). It thus was a form of humanism, seeking to better perceive individuals as individuals. Jurgen Habermas was IN NO WAY advocating post modernism. Where the Post-modernist advocated rambling irrational poetry, he advocated a clear spoken commun…

The Frankfurt School "Cultural Marxists" in fact critiqued Identity Politics - Nancy Fraser, who is both a Critical Theorist and has studied The Frankfurt School (to the point she's listed on their marxist.org page) built her academic career critiquing the Identity Politics model. She's also a long term critic of feminism. She's been doing this for 33 years now. It's reductionistic of you to reduce the whole of society and culture to radical leftist identity politics. I don't believe that's the case. "Cultural Marxism" academically speaking, is defined by 3 groups of neo-marxist theorists (labelled The Frankfurt School's 'Cultural Marxism', The Birmingham School's 'British Cultural Marxism', and E.P. Thompson's 'Thompsonian Cultural Marxism') - all of whom critiqued aspects of "mass culture". The Frankfurt School started it all by describing The Culture Industry. Also I'm not talking about the Birmingham School. Fascism for Marxists is anything that is not explicitly left-wing. I don't think this is true, but at anyrate it's irrelevant as The Frankfurt School were neo-Marxists (as I've noted previously, they critiqued Soviet Marxism), and were really closer to Social Democrats (they worked all their lives, and desired socially cohesive change through peaceable means). Orwell's relationship to Marxism and Fascism is complicated by his experience during The Spanish Civil War (where he fought variously for…

They didn't actually critique tradition to any great extent. Jurgen Habermas critiqued post-modernism. Adorno was a staunch supporter of the high arts, and critiqued Jazz. The "Cultural Marxists" at The Birmingham School critiqued the massification and globalization of culture, arguing that traditional local culture was being homogenized and displaced by mass media culture. So I think you've bought into the right wing propaganda that they were "attacking the family". Likewise, it's freemarket ph…

Most in The Frankfurt School are of course dead now (being most active during the 1940s-1960s). But, Nancy Fraser who counts herself as coming from the 3rd generation of The Frankfurt School of critical theory actually has this theory - called "The Problem Of Displacement"; where she claims things like Identity Politics and Recognition Politics, have wrongfully displaced class politics.. They are not Cultural Marxists, but rather an integral part of corporate culture. Agreed, I'd go one step further and say they're neoliberals. ...and the result they're aiming for is what Darwin called "descent with modification"; they wish to reproduce the current capitalist system of culture with only slight modification (that now all colours, races, and genders can take advantage of the wars, the factory exploitation of people, and the creation of pollution around the world). Cultural Marxism was an early critique of "Mass Culture" by The Frankfurt School who essentially saw capitalism as a unifying ideology found within all mass media. They saw mass culture as being produced by The Culture Industry, a term they coined. At any rate I'm pretty sure feminism sees patriarchy as an organic product of power, not as an intentional outcome of power (a wilful conspiracy theory)... and like I said in my first response; patriarchy can change with ideas of gender. It's not a set thing, it's a matter of current biases.

"The idea is male dominance of men over women." Look, I just explained what my understanding of patriarchy is (hint, it's not what your claiming in the quoted text above - it's more insidious than that). Patriarchy effects all people (men and women). But is propagated by men in some sort of power role (not simply all men, as you claim, although no doubt some have argued that all men are in some sort of power role). "If our society protected and promoted men inherently"... ...that's not patriarchy theory directly. My understanding is that Patriarchy theory is that men are in more positions of power, and so their gender biases become inherent across the system of power (whatever those biases may be at the time). The end result of closing the wage gap is women spending more time working in corporations and spending more on consumer goods and the average couple spending more time at work than in the past - just to make ends meet. What we're seeing is an exchange of tactics, and a neutralizing of control. Neutral sexual equality - and it's not a bad thing.

"When the government builds a useless bridge to nowhere, somebody pays the price. The price paid (by taxes or inflation) is calculated in libraries not constructed; in suits not tailored; in pantries not stocked, and in machinery not purchased." That's an idealized view of governments and corporations. TRPers tend to believe in meritocracy rather than plutocracy; hence so many Trump supporters.

It's debunking the "Cultural Marxism" conspiracy theory - and saying: Hey you can say all these things without needing to refer to some conspiracy theory or The Frankfurt School. You CAN talk about Identity Politics, Racism and Sexism in a way that respects other people's positions and assumptions - and you won't get called a racist or sexist for it. [TL…

I suppose it's hard to tell what happens behind closed doors at "qualtrics.com" and whether "anonymizing" the data might be a way to still harvest it whilst not having any legal liabilities. I suspect it's a common practice for many survey websites.

The survey address given by OP https://kpupsychology.eu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_a5b0fes5l7pewVn Is located on the domain name server "qualtrics.com" - which is a marketing company interested in re-selling any answers people give as to create a marketing demographic/profile based on those answers. They'll then re-sell this data to interested parties. It's how these companies make money.

According to the website's domain it's a marketing company: http://www.qualtrics.com/ So they're probably looking to make money off the emerging rightwing youth market.

Men have emotions but unlike bitches we know how to block them out and use reason. Dump her if she's ultimately going to make you into a big time cuck. She's gonna lose you a lot of pussy - and for what? Come back to being emotionless pussy pounders like the rest of us.

Meh, within 3 generations your genes are pretty much randomized anyways. Think about it - for every breeding only 50% of your genes can get in.... so you've got pretty fine odds. The problem is that humans think in terms of family names, and blood lines, and inheritance. We think in very personal terms, but evolution doesn't. Evolution is just looking for what gene clusters co-operate and work best together; whether they came from you, or somone with that same gene complex - evolution don't give…

Yep didn't see anything about the Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory in the article... although it does mention William Buckley (and comes close to mentioning the "Southern Strategy" taken by Conservatives of the time and Buckley's promotion of racial segregation policies).

Agreed, and I noticed the article didn't include the term - just the poster.

I'm pretty fine with it. Less meat head culture is a good thing. Less violence towards women. I think it's just a product of advancement, both technologically, legally, socially and mentally. Hopefully we're heading towards a more 50/50 power share.

A cultural marxist claim would be that certain groups control the means of ideological production. So for instance, if the gender studies department is 100% feminists and 0% red pill then they'll only let feminists make it to the top and fail students who argue for red pill positions. I can't tell whether you're a Marxist - you seem to think that all ideology is produced via Marxist means... so all ideology uses Marxism? So are you of the opinion that Karl Marx was right or what? Your views are …

Gays, feminists, and Atheists (ie. Cultural Marxists) aren't the problem. A lack of worker protections are the problem. Germany has shown that the better you treat a people, the more they feel they belong to a society, the more they care for it, and the harder they work for it. But right now America (thanks to corporatism) treats it's people like pieces of shit, like the enemy: https://www.facebook.com/ajplusenglish/videos/634233436718167/ What's needed to change this is legal protections on uni…

Feminism (and by extension, cultural Marxism) I think the argument is feminism came from "Cultural Marxists" - not the other way around. Which is ridiculous when you consider that feminism has existed for over a century (well before The Frankfurt School existed). Cultural Marxism is kooksville. There is authoritarianism on the left, but it's not due to the evil "Cultural Marxists" Here's a quote from one of Herbert Marcuse's students: "In my memoirs Encounters: My Life with Nixon, Marcuse, and O…

Note the lack of capitalization: cultural Marxism was originally a radical left criticism made by Trent Schroyer in 1973. It was a criticism of Culture Studies, and Critical Theory - he was saying they needed MORE Marxism in them or they'd lose relevance. It was particularly a criticism of groups like The Frankfurt School - whom he believed were losing touch with their Marxist roots, and straying far too far into Culture. Anyways, The Frankfurt School with their overly cultural Marxism. Were inf…

Society getting dumber, fatter and uglier has nothing to do with The Frankfurt School though - Adorno for instance chastised pop-culture's laziness from the outset.

You just listed off a bunch of standards... ...but yeah, maybe you shouldn't go around critiquing other people's bodies... that sort of overly judgmental viewpoint is probably why there's so much body dysmorphia. No one is PREVENTING you from calling people fat in the privacy of your own cunty friend-circles... just don't be a cunt to people in public and you'll be fine. ...community standards like that (don't be a cunt in public) have always existed, so I'm not sure what you're complaining abou…

Also, Marxism is just an idea - not something that should be feared or ignored. Marxism is actually a very interesting critique of Capitalism... and strangely enough, Marxism requires a GREATER level of democracy than Capitalism... that's what makes Marxism different from Stalinism. Marxism entails the dictatorship of the proletariat, whereas only Stalinism requires state fascism... they're two very different models.

Cultural Analysis is not the danger. The lack of any reasonable opposition is... and right now, there is no reasonable opposition. Conservatism is dead (died from a lack of public services, a lack of moral offerings) and its replacement; Libertarianism has nothing to offer. It literally only offers the removal of things - it offers lack posed as the only solution without any interest in inquiry beyond the extent of proving its own assumptions (about removal). So the "Cultural Marxism" explanatio…

That's a lot of dumb. For starters, sex positivism is a hallmark of 3rd wave feminism. So that 3rd point on your list doesn't work. Also, "Stay tuned for the sexual equality means she should be able to penetrate him also, advertising campaign, because a real man caters to her kinks. You’ve been warned. Get ready to Bend over Boys." this is HILARIOUS! Where the fuck did you get that from. That's just not how female sexuality works in most cases, it's retarded. I think you're way off. Female Sexua…

"betas who seem to have problems with reading comprehension is not to be underestimated." Ha, complaining about "Cultural Marxism" whilst deriding OTHER people's reading comprehension? Sorry dude, The Frankfurt School ended in the 1970s when rival ideas from The Birmingham School took over. Their main difference was that the Frankfurt School believed consumers of culture were passive sponges sucking up hegemonic messages. Where as The Birmingham School (who ultimately won influence) argued that …

I was just thinking about why women - lots of young women pose nude online on like tumblr and instagram... and I guess if society valued me by youth and beauty and everyone seemed to want to get in my pants - I'd probably feel like showing what society values about me off for free. So the question of where the motivation for these things is coming from is still open I think. Actually you'd end up with a whole bunch of "principles" each with their own different ratio attached.... which was my point.
/r/TheRedPill28/06/15 03:12 PM
1

In that case I have a better principle: It's called "The Ratio Principle" and it postulates that within certain systems, there are relatively constant ratios at play. You have to find out those ratios by observation before you can state them as constants. Or you can go with "Pareto’s principle" which just states that you magically already know the ratio at work and it's 80:20. So they're your choices; Science (ie. you have to figure out the ratios at play), or Magically already knowing (ie. Pare…

Yeah, but don't be a dope. You could elect any ratio and you're going to find it in A LOT of places. It's the equivalent of the whole 11:11 thing.
/r/TheRedPill27/06/15 07:26 AM

"Pareto’s principle" doesn't actually come from biology, nor does it have any real validity in biology. It comes from the realestate world - which is of course naturally full of bullshit.

You know what's funny - all that stuff came post-Cultural Marxism: Ph.D Professor Douglas Kellner cites the influence of socialist and revolutionary political strands on Critical theory as coming to an end in the 1980s: "During this phase -- roughly from the mid-1980s to the present -- cultural studies in Britain and North America turned from the socialist and revolutionary politics of the previous stages to postmodern forms of identity politics and less critical perspectives on media and consum…

Personally I wouldn't want to live in the total capitalism of Russia and China, nor would I want to live in a Marxist state like North Korea. I think where there are any two competing ideas, the correct way is probably somewhere in the middle. In that sense I don't think we're doing too bad. Then again, maybe you shouldn't listen to me - as I don't even believe that Feminism is Marxist. I think Feminism is it's own ideology (an ideology that doesn't really touch on economics as Marx did).
