A pure reason argument is just one that tries to use simple axioms to reach conclusions as opposed to an empirical argument which uses observation to reach conclusions. Look into the difference between rationalism and empiricism.

So, you agree that gender roles are just a social construct? Because the step being taken that you seemed bothered by is going form "sex/gender vs gender roles" to "sex vs gender" which is clearly just a semantic change.

What is scientific about the rules that say women care for children and wear dresses while men work and wear pants? Those rules are gender. That cultures have created third groupings outside of male and female is indicative that the groupings are arbitrary.

Even without the casteration, there is still a notable and different social position with the twin spirited types among Canadian people. Gender also describes the idea that men don't wear makeup and dresses but women do. That isn't a facet of biological sex as far as I know, so it has to be a cultural practice commonly associated with a particular sex, which is now being referred to as gender as opposed to biological sex.

Okay, but what about cultures that have things like two-spirited people like among Canadian natives or the forms of willing eunics some Polynesian cultures have? Those are alternative perspectives with respect to things that are similar to the concept of one's status as defined by sex but different from either male or female. For a second there I was worried because I did not see that it was the onion. I mean, the start felt like levels of sexism that just pass in some places, but the stabbing image made me go check the channel. Glad Ted has not gone to hell.

I mean, post-feminism does have that in its manifesto. Considering that does not seem to be the mainstream of feminism, even among my more sensible friends, I don't think it is fair to say feminism itself covers the matter.

It is important to report you views as such. I am sure that is the meaning meant to be gotten across, but declaring that they objectively are as a whole the most racist, sexist people on the planet. is just going to make this side be guilty of the same kinds of generalizations that causes our issues. Wording matters, how you say something can be critical in insuring it is not taken in a horribly wrong direction.

Except that having consenting sexual relations is a choice. It is always a choice. Does not matter what kind, you choose to have them. There may be cases where there is a very strong disposition of the body one way or another, but there is that is not a certainty.

Yeah, the better way to express such ideas is to speak of the impression of feminism you have rather than trying to generalize them as a group. For example, I take issue with the deterministic rhetoric that constructs much of the gay rights argument, I don't think all gay rights supporters are determinists but that is my impression of the rhetoric used while discussing such topics.
