Empower is a word thrown around a lot these days. I think posting a nude selfie can 'empower' that particular individual but usually the word is used in the context of 'empowering all women,' and no I don't think that's the case. It really isn't. If you're finding this to be the case, then either you might be settling in your dates/relationships or being the one settled for.
