I think they're operating on a feminist idea of men gravitating towards "macho" politics. So they try to attack the perceived "macho" of the opponents. It's what happens when women think they understand men.

Yup. In Sweden, the Sweden Democrats call themselves conservative and pointedly state that they don't have any 'equality policy', yet they are currently in the process of adding Feminist Theory of Violence to the law. Feminism is so dominant in western and northern Europe that people no longer see the forest for the trees.

I'm pretty convinced it's not the former. Criticism about the 'patriarchy' doesn't usually end with "and that's why women are treated better", but in this instance it's convinient, so they go with that. If it had been men who got social aid at a higher rate, it would have been the patriarchy that doesn't want women to have money because men should hold all the power. And I don't think anybody can dispute that.

Same in Sweden. Males have the highest frequency of being denied social aid. Especially if they're born in the country. Being a male born in the country is in itself a negative factor when applying. The research paper I read that found those results, brushed it off as basically 'patriarchial expectations of who's in need of social aid' lol.

I myself applied for a cushy job for the city and wasn't called to an interview. When I requested the CVs of the ones called, all of them were women, and one of them in particular had no qualifications, whereas I had many relevant ones. The city employs 80% women per official statistics. I'm still in the coal mines lol

Context matters though. Is this conversation primarily about womens situation? Because she didn't say "disproportionally", atleast not in the video. The thing that stands out most is that she's still running the narrative that Russia wants Ukraine because of it's wealth. And that simply isn't true. Russia is way richer than Ukraine.

The only time men unite over something like that is in peasant rebellions and workers movements, and things have to be really obvious to everyone before that happens. Feminist gaslighting is undermining this awareness, but it's spreading. We just have to talk to other men about it. Though I suspect feminism will lose its trendiness long before men actually stand up for themselves. These times will just be reminded as one of those time periods that had crazy flaws.
