Ok so learn a trade. Assembly there's a 5 year gap at least between college and today, he's just been settling for minimum wage with no promotions at his job to show for it? No acquired skills? Nothing of value learned in that time? College isn't the only way to be successful and "my degree is useless" is a pretty weak excuse.

Except: 1. He doesnt live in one of those cultures, 2. In cultures that do it's usually because the whole family is needed to provide for the household, and 3. He explicitly states the reason he still lives with his parents as having gotten a liberal arts degree as opposed to going into STEM. Only the truly pathetic will spend the amount of time he has wallowing in self-pity instead of figuring another way out. College is far from the only answer.
