9	My experience with the crab bucket mentality you did the right thing, I experienced the same thing and I cut them out. Now I can really focus on myself. The negativities they give you will still take some time to go away, make sure you develop new/existing skills and meet friends through these skills/passions. I think one important thing as we grow up is we become more selective in choosing friends. We develop a mission in Life and we bond with people with the same mission. First of all, there is no short cut to learning a new skill,so be prepared to invest at least a few years of your time, 3- 4 hours a day developing the new skill. Enjoy the process of learning. 1	Don't put other guys down in social situations. This is what is known as the "fake Alpha" Had a group of ex-friends exactly like that. They have no real talent, not exactly good at anything, but mocked me for spending most of my time practicing my music (we were in a band and most of them seriously aren't as dedicated to the music as i was/am). I started improving myself last year and figured out I couldn't tolerate people who constantly put me down, so I simply ignore them and cut them loose. 4	Anyone reinvent their life and career at age 27? Web development / technology is a good bet if you have the determination and most importantly , time to do it. Spend the first 1000 hours learning programming and get a job in the field.
