I’m so sorry no one cares about you

I wasn’t cherry picking. The examples I gave are some of the biggest ways men being in power more than women negatively impact women. I mean I suppose it depends on your definition of cherry picking. Because there’s a shit ton more, I just chose some of the most pertinent.
/r/MensRights20/07/21 04:21 PM

Pick one what?
/r/MensRights20/07/21 01:30 PM

You can’t just cherry pick examples. I can list plenty of women being at the bottom as well. Fighting gender norms/stereotypes helps both genders not to be at the bottom..

I think you meant grader* I’ve not lied once but ok
/r/MensRights19/07/21 08:28 PM

Yes I agree, it’s more the fact that out of Trumps cabinet, probably less than a quarter of them are women. How are men meant to be able to make laws about abortion, birth control etc with no input from the people it impacts the most.

Wow bro calm down, and people say women’s re emotional 😂 I just asked a simple question
/r/MensRights19/07/21 08:12 AM
1

The point of asking was to hear what people think it actually is. There’s so many unique answers to it
/r/MensRights19/07/21 08:11 AM
1

And people say men aren’t compassionate 😂
/r/MensRights19/07/21 08:10 AM

Bringing up other problems just dismisses the issue we’re currently talking about. I could list hardships that women face as well, but you’ve not responded to my point about power imbalance
/r/MensRights19/07/21 08:08 AM

Women pay alimony and men can ask for it too, it’s just who earns more money
/r/MensRights17/07/21 08:56 AM
1

And women were slaves to their husbands. I’m not disagreeing. You’re correct. I also think the level of capitalism we have atm leaves everyone a slave, and leaves very little people happy
/r/MensRights17/07/21 08:56 AM

I’m not a misandrist. I don’t hate men. I do hate being harassed every day when I go outside. And then being told it’s my own fault for wearing what I wore. I’m not whining that I can’t criticise you, I am criticising you, well more your views, but you’ve all spent a lot of time replying to me I’ve read everything. Don’t get me wrong I agree with some of it. And some of it is so illogical there’s simply no point wasting my time replying.
/r/MensRights17/07/21 08:01 AM

But there’s still by far more men in power than women? The patriarchy is just about power imbalance
/r/MensRights17/07/21 07:58 AM
1

Yeah the consent from a spouse is awful and I don’t agree with it. It happens to women too when they get their tubes tied, they’re often outright refused if they don’t have a husband or won’t get his permission. It’s awful for any gender trying to do something to their body which they aren’t being allowed to. Something needs to change on that front
/r/MensRights17/07/21 07:54 AM
0

Why are they saying they need to ask women, if women weren’t included in the og vote
/r/MensRights17/07/21 07:51 AM
1

‘Well they chose those jobs’
/r/MensRights17/07/21 07:49 AM
1

And yet, how many women are in power compared to men? How many men are still passing abortion laws without ever asking themselves why would a woman want an abortion in the first place? How come tampons are still taxed and not seen to be an essential item? It’s not about a couple women being in power. The patriarchy is about power imbalance
/r/MensRights17/07/21 07:48 AM
1

It actually mainly refers to the power imbalance between men and women as well as gender stereotypes/norms etc that are used to reinforce that imbalance
/r/MensRights17/07/21 07:46 AM

Because most Mums end up doing all the work

Feminism altered men’s insurance rates. They were higher because men statistically got into more crashes. But feminism saw that’s as discrimination, rightfully so

I support equality and the fight to break down gender stereotypes/gender norms. I don’t and never have supported hate

I’m assuming you’re mocking feminists for being weary of all men. It’s not our fault that we’ve been raped and abused in the past. I also assume you wouldn’t be happy being called ‘the same’ as those abusers, just for being a man, yet you do the exact same thing to me here
/r/MensRights15/07/21 10:43 AM

I’m interested in when a lot of these women were born. I can hear the anger and exhaustion through most of these quotes. I don’t agree with a lot of what they’re saying with a few exceptions, I’d imagine in their time, they were very much trying to be controversial. Any press is good press. Again, the point of my post was asking you to not only focus on the bad but see the good. And you’ve done exactly the opposite so thanks! 👍🏼😂

Teachers also cannot give marks in GSCEs and girls still fare better there. Everything is marked anonymously by a board. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/education/2019/aug/22/gcse-results-more-rigorous-courses-appear-to-benefit-girls Do you have any more info on the lowered grades? A study perhaps? In the UK, the way the grades were changed was class based, and awful way to do it. Systematically changing kids grades based on their group whether it class or gender is inherently…

You clearly don’t understand what toxic masculinity is. If a boy is brought up by his parents to shut down his emotions, not deal with his anger, and not be heard, it’s not his fault. I understand why people would get defensive but it’s not an attack on your masculinity. It’s not about simply being a man, it’s about the way he’s been taught to process feelings, for some, not all, it’s about how differently they treat men to women. Again, it’s never his fault for the way he has been raised. And I…

Just replace men with MRAs then

You can’t do that in science for example. Where the answer is set. Maybe in English a subjective subject. But not maths, bio, chem, physics etc
/r/MensRights14/07/21 07:31 PM

This sub does a lot of generalising. Maybe I’m fitting in 😂

Damn that’s pretty interesting thank you. Often when I’ve asked this q in the past, it’s met with hate, probably because they’ve received it, so thanks for the honest answer
/r/MensRights14/07/21 07:26 PM

So if it’s based on teacher bias why do women get better grades in sciences and non subjective subjects

I don’t care what you call yourselves. I only care that you don’t brand every feminist a misandrist. That’s it. But I haven’t seen many people capable of looking past what they already believe.

What have you seen that makes you think it’s a hate movement?
/r/MensRights14/07/21 07:00 PM

Men may be stronger biologically, but women get better grades. So by your logic women can do all the mentally taxing jobs and men all the physical? Regardless, nobody should need another person to live a normal life. It’s dehumanising

I was going to try and use logic but it’s clear from your response you don’t utilise such a thing. Either that or your belief is so strong you’ll ignore everything that speaks to the contrary You are an echo chamber though? I don’t care what you call yourselves. I care that you perpetuate hate of the movement. Imagine if I went about saying the things you say about feminism, about men. You’d come back with ‘not all men’ or stop generalising. All I’m asking is for people to recognise we’re not all bad.

50 years ago women couldn’t own their own bank accounts. Was the world better then in your eyes? Personally I don’t think anyone should have to rely on anyone else just to live. It meant back then so many women were forced to get married just to survive. I often wonder if some men aren’t happy now because they’ve seen relationships of parents, grandparents and expect the same thing. And then when modern women aren’t up for that, they don’t know how to take it How has women working crippled socie…

Yeah the circumsision issue is rough. I feel like we’d have a lot more progress if people didn’t do it for religious reasons. Thank you for giving me an answer and not being hateful. I’m sure those replies are yet to come

Okay, what laws has feminism changed that have negatively impacted men?
/r/MensRights14/07/21 06:39 PM

Women literally couldn’t have their own bank account until 1975. That’s less than 50 years ago. They literally just wanted to be able to survive without the need of another person

I don’t think good people are a minority at all. But I do think that is true of the people in government. As in, good people are a minority in gov. I also disagree about radicals being a majority but I guess that’s all experience based. I’ve experienced far more traditional feminists than radicals. But maybe for you it’s the opposite.

In regards to the character being boring, a lot of male writers cannot write women well. Hell a lot of female writers can’t either. That’s why there’s to many tropes and stereotypes. Especially when they’re writing the character in ‘just to be inclusive’ because they never really needed the character for the plot in the first place

It has and still does. Although the internet likes to show you a lot of what you already believe. So maybe that’s why you haven’t seen any real feminists in while if that’s your belief

Alimony is after a relationship has ended. It’s unpaid during the relationship. And what if a relationship never ends? Then it’s still unpaid Women can also pay alimony so it means they not only do all the unpaid labour but also have to pay it. Regardless, that’s not what alimony is for. Men should just do their fair share around the house. It’s not hard
/r/MensRights13/07/21 10:21 AM

I never said I condoned saying it, only I understood the place of anger and exhaustion they were coming from. Yes I agree, men and women are treated differently. Gender stereotypes hurt both men and women in different ways which is why it’s so important we look past them and teach future gens to do the same. The don’t just hinder people’s lives but have literally killed before. That’s why I’m a feminist. And not the pseudo modern day kind people keep telling me about on this sub.

He drives himself to work for himself. He does not maintain a household for himself at the benefit of others. It’s not really a choice when a lot of men straight up refuse, or worse, just expect it to be done for them. Also what do you mean by it’s not unpaid if you’re in a relationship. Men shouldn’t have to be the default providers. Obviously sometimes one person can provide, but generally speaking nowadays both partners contribute to the finances, so both should contribute to the maintenance …

I mean unpaid labour as in cooking, cleaning, childcare, emotional labour. A lot of men, generally speaking, will not help around the house. And often when they do, they’ll still ask the women what needs done. Which is problematic because then she is still managing the cleaning tasks which is seen as emotional labour. Obviously it’s not a reason men shouldn’t be able to retire early. Everyone should have this option. But I was confused why the option was only given to women with 2 or more kids s…

I did. Nobodies perfect. Everyone says something that will hurt someone at some point. I accepted it because her saying kam, isn’t as bad as her ex who actually threatened to kill her. /r/MensRights12/07/21 02:23 PM

The thing with a double standard is that you can’t have it both ways as I’m sure you know. So it’s either gotta be rape, lgbt, kam etc isn’t funny. Or it’s all just jokes
/r/MensRights12/07/21 10:58 AM

It sounded like sarcasm when you said rape jokes are not funny etc. Either sarcasm or a mocking tone. Which means that you do think they can be funny? And in turn would like to be able to make those jokes?

You’re not wrong. I find a lot of lgbt jokes funny as well and am also gay. You’re right it all depends on the situation. A lot of the time when people resort to these jokes (kam) it’s often out of exhaustion. From putting up with shit for so long. For example I have a friend who’s been raped twice and constantly hears rape jokes from men who don’t give a shit about how they affect her ptsd. I disagree about feminism. I would label myself as such and I can assure you men’s issues are something myself and other feminists will continue to fight for. If you don’t believe me, fair enough, but I ask when you’re talking about feminism to not tar us all with the same brush. And when you’re talking about groups who don’t truly want equality, please label them pseudo-feminists/radical/ anything to separate them from the movement that is fighting for equality
/r/MensRights11/07/21 08:38 PM
0

I agree. The best tool people in power have to haul progress for any movement, is division. There’s hate and radicals on both sides unfortunately. Just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there. I asked someone earlier on this sub, could it also be that you don’t surround yourself with many feminists in the first place?
/r/MensRights11/07/21 07:47 PM
0

I disagree with what the movement is about. So many people in this subreddit seem to be interacting mostly with radical feminists or modern feminists as you put it. Call yourself whatever you want, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter but the actions of a few radicals should not define the many who continue to fight for equality for all
/r/MensRights11/07/21 07:33 PM
-3

If you’re attitude towards these types of jokes is that they are just that, jokes, then what is wrong with Kam as a joke?
/r/MensRights11/07/21 06:00 PM
-3

Your analogies about Peta and Greenpeace aren’t really comparable. Feminism isn’t an organisation, it’s a movement. I think the reason most feminists get mad when you say you aren’t one is because they either think you don’t want equality or they think you’re tarring all feminists with the same brush. It’s the same way that muslims are often treated wrongly due to the actions of a few. Radical feminists represent a small minority but unfortunately they tend to be the more vocal ones.
/r/MensRights11/07/21 05:58 PM

Women do a lot more of the unpaid work than men. Generally speaking. Ofc that is by no means a good enough reason for this ruling as it is discriminatory towards men and incredibly unfair.
/r/MensRights11/07/21 05:46 PM
2

Ofc this is discrimination, I don’t think anyone’s disputing that. What I don’t understand is why women are only allowed to take early retirement if they’ve had two or more children? Can anyone explain why children is the defining factor?
/r/MensRights11/07/21 05:35 PM

You’re jumping to a lot of conclusions here. First of all you’re only looking at 1 group on 1 platform. You’re not taking other platforms into account. you also didn’t account for people who have discussions about this in person. If you just estimate numbers, you can’t prove any points with them. What’s happening in France atm really isn’t right, I’ve seen so many people talking about it already, so surely the movement to fight back on this policy will only grow. And within that movement there w…

That still doesn’t mean no feminists are talking about this. There will still be feminists in r/egalitarianism discussing it. I’m sure there are ones in the post in the France and Europe subreddits. Reddit also isn’t the only platform where they could be. You just need to look a bit harder
/r/MensRights11/07/21 03:49 PM

Maybe the reason you haven’t seen feminists talking about this issue isn’t because they aren’t, but maybe because you haven’t surrounded yourself with feminists/aren’t in any feminist subreddits.

It is awful that that happened to him and alot of fault lies with the prosecution service in that instance, not just the accuser. At the same time, that is an incredibly rare occurrence. As a man you are more likely to be raped yourself than falsely accused. Surely if we tackle rape/sexual assault/harassment as a society, false accusations can be tackled at the same time. I think the reason people focus much more on the assaults themselves than the false allegations is simply that the assaults a…

Gonna need some sources for that. Men statistically commit more crimes and the crimes tend to be more serious ones than women for whatever reason. They also tend to ‘over murder’ far more often which leads to harsher sentences. 2a. Men are only statistically less likely to get custody as they in general don’t ask for it. If they’re not fighting to get it, of course they won’t be granted it. Women are also less likely to get custody if she claims she or the child has been abused. I think this als…

I agree with your first paragraph and even part of your second. But looking at this subreddit I’ve seen so often comments downvoted for solely disagreeing. For example there’s one on this post saying ‘We all came from a women’ And I can’t really see what’s wrong with that comment. I don’t agree with radical feminism. It’s very often taken too far and I agree some of the people involved in that do hate men for just existing. What I will ask is, and hear me out, is that sometimes when you do something you see as fine and someone else sees as misogynistic, could it be that you’re just not on the receiving end so don’t see anything wrong with it? For example catcalling, or asking a women (not a friend) to smile because she ‘looks prettier’, slut shaming, these are all little …

You’re still being extremely vague. I’m looking for logic. Although I haven’t seen much on this sub.

Yes. Lots. Also rather than insulting me why don’t you explain why I’m supposedly ignorant or even answer the question I asked?

Fun fact, the sperm doesn’t race to egg and the fastest strongest one wins, the egg actually releases hormones to attract the most favourable sperm and chooses which sperm is allowed to fertilise it

But surely by reacting this way to this post, you guys are either self labelling yourselves, or expecting at some point to be labelled a misogynists. The definition of racism has also broadened a lot recently but I don’t expect to be called racist. So it makes me wonder what behaviour are you doing that is making people call you a misogynist? It could be a push to call you that, but I don’t know what the behaviour was. I don’t know if you are or not. But a lot of the stuff I’ve seen on this subr…

What rights do you not have that women do? Edit: I also haven’t labelled you all misogynists. I was asking if you were, based on your reactions to the OP

The men the OP is posting are misogynists? Not just normal guys. Don’t get why people are saying ‘they don’t care about us’ Are yall misogynists??

Yes. It wasn’t their choice in the first place

It’s like how they have quotas for POC because they are the oppressed group and have more hurdles to get to the same place as white people. Plus if you look at the link from the OP, it says in a lot of areas, men still dominate, specifically STEM. And I’d imagine computing as well although I didn’t see that mentioned

Not sure if that’s really a reputable source since anyone with enough money can pay them to write whatever they want. Can you please link another article to give me some more info on this topic as it’s a pretty new one for me.

It’s unfortunate that she had those views. But she does not represent us all thankfully. The definition of rape itself has always cause a bit of bother for male victims because I believe the actual definition used to be a penis inserted into a vagina without consent. So anything anal wouldn’t count as rape. I’m not sure if the legal definition has changed at all but in the past it meant that female rapists would just be accused of assault and not rape and potentially receive lesser sentences. Wh…

That in itself is the issue. You’ve just summed it up. A lot of men can assault someone and not even know they’ve done it. I don’t think men have different standards for what classes as assault, or at least I hope not anyway. Boundaries aren’t too hard to understand, nor is consent. So there shouldn’t really be different ‘standards’

I agree with everything you’re saying, except that women shouldn’t need help dealing with periods. There are a few conditions (endometriosis, PCOS etc.) which can cause debilitating pain. I’m talking, women can faint, have muscle spasms that mean they can’t walk, can’t get out of bed. These are obviously extremes but they prove that cramps should be taken seriously. Period pains are just miniature contractions and can be extremely painful. Not just that but often when women go to the doctor, the…

Mental health still has a stigma around it for everyone not just men. That’s something feminism wants to tackle for everyone. Men do not work more hours. ‘Your ignorance is showing’ https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53558250.amp Women also carry a lot of the unpaid work and emotional labour. Cooking, cleaning, taking care of the home and family. Buying all the gifts etc. The 40 hour work week worked well in the past as men did all the work and women did all of the unpaid…

No real feminist wants to stop equality from happening. If anyone’s opposing gender neutral laws, they’re not a feminist.

People get raped. Men can lie about a condom and sneak it off. It’s not that simple. You can also get pregnant without actually having sex

Men are often granted sick leave with no questions asked. Many women will be told they are being dramatic. Period pains can also be debilitating. Endometriosis and PCOS are very common syndromes for women which cause much more pain during the menstrual cycle. I don’t see anything wrong with this

Everyone is taught. Nobody grows up in a vacuum outside of social intervention. It’s not how men have ‘evolved’. But we can disagree on that. That’s great! I’m glad you don’t bottle up your feelings! That’s all we want. You can’t open up in a ‘feminine way’ What about opening up is feminine? This is another attribute that we’ve assigned a gender to that has nothing to do with femininity or masculinity. But again this is something we don’t have to agree on. I agree that women should also be able …

There’s plenty of ways in which feminism can help men. I don’t mean radical feminism or man hating obviously. But feminism aims to fight for equality and to fight harmful gender norms. Which helps men too. Women aren’t the only ones hurt by the patriarchy. Just one example is driving insurance. Without feminisms fight for equality, men would still be paying more on their car insurance just because they are men. Which is discrimination

I hear what you’re saying but the only reason men deal with their emotions differently is because they’ve been taught to. It doesn’t matter to us how men open up. We just want them to deal with their feelings and not bottle everything up, which previous generations of men have been seen to do. I’m not sure what you mean about the equal rape/domestic violence? In terms of family court men are actually more likely to get custody than women. Just to clarify they get custody more often, when the man…

You’re probably right. The thing is, police are here to protect us. Sometimes they do have to defend themselves, yes. But far too often, violence is not justified and the situation is escalated by the cop and not the person being arrested/spoken to.

Feminism aims to tackle the patriarchy. Since you don’t understand what that is or have been lied to, that is the societal gender norms that we ourselves have perpetuated. One example is the idea that women are more emotional and men are more stoic (boys don’t cry etc). Obviously this is a generalisation and not true. Men of course feel emotion just as much as women but due to these gender norms, they are less likely to talk about their feelings and less likely to get help from friends or a prof…

Clearly you’re not aware of some of the risks of pregnancy cause my first paragraph was just a small handful. My third paragraph is easy enough to find stats on. Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t make it retarded. What isn’t selfish is choosing to not bring a life into this world if they cannot be taken care of properly. What IS selfish is forcing a woman to have a baby, that she doesn’t want, the baby will have a shit life, be more likely to commit crimes, be unemployed and co…

Not really no. You can always shoot someone in the foot. I understand it’s not always possible and some circumstances are life or death. But police are in a position of power. Unless the other person has a gun pointed at them, they have no right to kill anyone

I don’t know if you’re aware but pregnancy can also fuck up a woman’s body and therefore life. Women can get organ failure, fistulas, go blind, become paralysed. All for a baby they didn’t even really want. Another issue is that you can’t ban abortion, only safe ones. It’s the same way if you ban guns, people who really want them will still find a way to access them. Crime rates are also higher when abortion is illegal. Turns out you’re a lot less likely to have a good life when nobody wanted yo…

Among those of my friends who have been raped, all but 1 it was by someone they knew and someone they trusted. Which is very disconcerting. It also doesn’t really matter to me how many rapes occur. Any amount is too many and we should be working against them. What’s really interesting is that often when women are assaulted/harassed it’s by someone they know. Whereas the men I know who have been a victim, it’s been from a stranger or acquaintance. Not that that makes it any better. I don’t think …

Anti abortion laws are one of the big ways women are controlled by laws. Another thing that isn’t a law but still control is dress codes, ones with ridiculous things like covered shoulders/knees/elbows. There’s plenty of stats online about how domestic violence has increased against both genders during the pandemic. If you need to fill space, just credit more sources to further the point. You could also discuss how the stats may be skewed as men as less likely to come forward as victims due to s…

You’re second fact is pretty spot on but I have to disagree with the first. I know it’s not statistic, but solely based on my experience, every single woman I know has been SA/SH and not one of them has reported it to the police or told barely anyone. So what’s the point in lying if nothing comes of it

If you’re tired of hearing about it, imagine having to live as a women. Do you not think you’d be tired of experiencing it? A lot of the hate for men comes out of exhaustion of having to deal with a lot of the things you listed. Obviously I don’t think hating men is right. A lot of hate not only comes from exhaustion, but from fear. Fear of all the things you listed plus SA/SH etc I understand being tired of hearing about it. But what I don’t get is that you seem to be more angry about women say…
