Personally I'd say you're over thinking it. The way you said his face lit up to me sounds like genuine desire and if I had to guess his past partners probably contributed to him doubting his capability to provide which for a man is everything. They want to provide for their woman and to me it comes across as though he feared letting you down if he didn't make 'enough' We forget that men view relationships differently than we do I wouldn't worry about it, it sounds like he's really in to you.

I guess I forgot to add, the reason I suggest being the initiator for these things (specifically considering one thing you mentioned is wanting HIM to plan out romantic dates etc) is because I think alot of people want to reciprocate feeling loved and important but sometimes we get into these self feeding spiral where one person may feel distant or stressed or depressed or what have you, and it can be hard to want to go out of your way to make the other person feel good when we don't feel good. …

The fact that you started out this post with some of the positives rather than the negatives tells quite a bit... It sounds like to me that you want things to work out, though alot of people post questions knowing what they really want either consciously or subconsciously and post hoping to be persuaded one way or the other... That being said, I personally (and someone who's currently in a 14 year age gap relationship) think things aren't too far gone to salvage. I really liked the other comment…

Have you considered that maybe you've been misdiagnosed? I'm no psychiatrist and don't know enough to say for sure but I know I dealt with alot of the things you mentioned about feeling lazy and laying there for hours doing nothing, etc and it turned out I had ADHD and meds have turned me into a new person with motivation I never could muster up before. I also spent years thinking it was depression even diagnosed as such at one point but looking at the whole picture of my life and all the other …

Having been in a relationship with someone with similar traits I just want to encourage you that taking time to "do you" after being with someone like that really will pay off in the long run, I know it can be hard now but I promise if you do the self introspection and work you will reap the rewards 10x over in the long run. You're young, better to learn from a difficult experience now than 10 years from now Wishing you the best on your journey, you're making a wise choice for your future

I probably could have written this when I was younger tbh I highly suggest this workbook (you can find it thru Barnes and nobles nook app) Self-Esteem: An Inside Job by Sandra V. Abell,Janice A. Napoleon eBook Although it was difficult to do the exercises I can say this workbook gave me self esteem and self love that I never had internally before. I just wanted to share this tool that helped me grow and be okay with myself.

Oh I forgot to add, building muscle raises your base metabolic rate, so for calories in calories out, the more muscle you have the more calories you use at rest to maintain muscle, which makes it easier to be at a calorie defecit and not starve to death lol

My weight is still the same but I've lost 4 pant sizes and can almost button my high-school jeans... Besides being unhappy with my reflection, my wakeup call was when I could barely hold my drill above my head to drill 4 screws in I was so weak. And I realized if I didn't do something now (I'm 27) it would only be harder the longer I waited I definitely could be eating healthier. I eat sweets like that fat kid from willy Wonka, but I digress. I started going to planet fitness and I do mostly mac…

He definitely helped me in some aspects and left a lasting role on my world views that id say we're positive, as with most relationships there's good with the bad. He constantly accused me of lying which up til the last month or two I was completely honest and he would just accuse and say the most vile things to me, accuse me of colluding with his dad to make his life hell, accuse me of cheating etc there's more, tons more, it was crazymaking. In the final days I did start lying to save those ar…

Reading this gave me chills as this was my ex husband down to a t. I never wanted to be a divorcee and it kills me but after doing this game once at 18 and again with my ex husband, I realized there is nothing I could do that would make him stop the abuse, I sleep at night knowing I tried and gave my 110% to my own detriment and it still wasn't enough so we divorced. (We're good friends before and only married a year as he did a total 180 after the I do's) I've now 2 years post divorce found my …
