If you read this specific situation then you know that the partner only found out a later date, a phone call to the police about an event that you didn't witness first hand an indeterminate time in the past is much less useful than a call from someone actively witnessing the event. If she were to be with the men at the time then yes she would share equal responsibility but that is not what happened here.

To be fair there are women in that thread saying they would expect their partner to call the police but not get involved further as that would be dangerous which I think is the right away to approach something like this. Not everyone there is calling for men to throw themselves into danger for the sake of a stranger which is nice to see.

Why not take a step back from all of it if it's causing you this much pain? Take some time for yourself, figure out your mental health (if you need therapy then don't be afraid to try out different therapists until you find one that doesn't have any biases). Definitely, I guess the issue is that there's no real way of measuring how much transphobia is due to which cause. There's no way to prove what you've stated in the title but there's also no way to disprove it which is why I think it's worth focusing on areas where we absolutely know the problem and what the remedy should be - mental health care and the suicide rate for instance.

If your hypothesis holds true, I honestly haven't seen a lot of overlap between man hating feminists and TERFs although I don't pay close attention so it's possible I've been missing it. There are also plenty of men who are violently anti-trans so there's obviously hate coming from different viewpoints. Oh man, you were brave to even go, I can't imagine what the atmosphere would have been like when things started getting nasty which was inevitable with the police there and the same people blaming all men blaming all police at the same time. This does everything to lift my spirits. Absolutely, I've seen a few people who have said that all the negativity being directed toward men is affecting their mental health so this will hopefully be a breath of fresh air to those people. It's become really disturbing to see just how easily will pick up and use a death regardless of whether that person would have agreed with them.

This is a thoughtful and beautifully worded statement, hopefully this gets through to some people and they come to realise that in situations like this it's everyone vs criminals not men vs women or any other division. I've seen a few people say they've felt their mental health suffer as a result of all the hate and hopefully messages like this from people who actually knew and understood Sarah will act as a balm of sorts.

A woman named Sarah Everard was murdered in the UK last week by a male police officer. This resulted in every spiteful and bigoted woman on social media claiming that all men are murderers/rapists and it's honestly just a lot - I can understand why OP is upset if he is tuned in to it all and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of men's mental health is suffering because they are somehow being blamed for the actions of one murderer.

I don't think calling out strangers is worth it usually - bigots are not very reasonable. If it's your friends then you can have a conversation if you choose but honestly my dude the best thing for your mental health is getting off social media, even if it's just when toxic stuff is going on. Reddit is the only thing I use now and that's because I have a measure of control over whether I'm exposed to the toxic stuff or not so can choose when/if I want to deal with it.

They may be legally allowed to but I don't think it's okay, any discriminatory practise is a terrible one (unfortunately it's good for business so companies will implement them if they can get away with it). Thankfully they've just put an end to this in the UK where I am due to the ruling of the European Court of Justice. Honestly, it's about time they did it worldwide so here's hoping that you guys are rid of the discrimination sooner rather than later.

This is why I thought it was relevant, you should be tread very lightly when leaving children in the care of any mentally ill person (or any person at all really) who may be a threat to them. My local swimming pool recently started a mens' only session after they received a large number of requests, it started off as only one hour a week but was so popular that it now takes up an evening just like the female only swimming. Try actually requesting it, maybe drum up some interest among locals, get some interested people involved and they might just listen.
