Do you mean this meta-analysis? (It's behind a paywall.) ABSTRACT: Meta-analyses of sex differences in physical aggression to heterosexual partners and in its physical consequences are reported. Women were slightly more likely (d = –.05) than men to use one or more acts of physical aggression and to use such acts more frequently. Men were more likely (d = .15) to inflict an injury, and overall, 62% of those injured by a partner were women. The findings partially support previous claims that diff…

...an offender must prove... I was going to point out that they should say "alleged offender," but given this new statue we might as well just stop with all that due process crap.

First I'd say that it's unsound. It goes: Women are viewed as weaker and lesser than men. Thus, men have (are?) discriminated (against?). Therefore, men's rights issues stem from women's rights issues. That argument does not follow, and I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to show. Referring to the rest, I'd say that it's a standard Catch-22 argument. If men get preferential treatment, it's because women are discriminated against. And if women get preferential treatment, then it's also becau…

Prosecutors had sought a four-year prison term. If this doesn't suggest that no one took this crime seriously, I don't know what will.

Access vs. ownership is recognized legal distinction. Nevertheless, when a company sells me a product that I only have access to, they have a large disclaimer that I need to sign informing me such. The connection here is that the plaintiff would have to show that they informed the defendant that the defendant--despite being given a copy of the photo in question--did not actually own the photo, but merely had access to it (which will be difficult to do). The presumption, in the court's eyes, woul…

Ah yes, equivocation. 'Bias,' when it comes to social sciences and statistics, just means that the results skew one way over the other (often in a way that was predicted to be symmetric ahead of time). For instance, if men typically score higher on an IQ test than women, it means the results were biased in favor of men. 'Bias,' in this sense, does not carry a negative connotation, since the results do not necessarily show that there was something wrong with the test or that women have a lower IQ…

I'd write, in red marker, citation required on all of them.

95% of domestic violence is reported by women – perpetrated against by their male partner. Citation required. When men are battered it is typically by their male intimate partner... Again, citation required. And even so, what poor statistical reasoning. When straight men get battered, it is generally by their male partners? it is highly unlikely that women, generally peaceful and non-violent, would make up half of partner violence. First, I like that unabashed show of bias. Second, that's not a …
