Not necessarily. Funny confidant men get women.

I dunno. I don't think being a gentleman requires you to pay for things. Being a gentleman is in how you act and carry yourself in regards to others. This is actually one of the things men's right's is all about (at least to me). It's not cool to assume a guy is stingy because he wants to split the bill; just like it is not fair for me to assume a woman is a slut for sleeping with someone on the 1st date. Its confusing now to boot, as we live in a time where some women do not want to be paid for…

Happens to me all too often. I wouldn't let her bully you on a daily basis though. "Give it as good as you get it" so to speak. Just remember that when she makes snide jokes and comments about you, making fun of you generally, she is juvenile. So, what do we know about her? She is juvenile, and she has a self-esteem problem (this is why people bully). That alone should be enough to come up with some great comeback that will shut her up once and for all, and earn you back the respect of your clas…

Just because you've had a bad row doesn't mean that is the end all of male/female interactions. I pride myself in being a gentleman, and more often than not, I reap what I sow. I hold doors for men as well as women. I give up my seat to old people, pregnant women, and people with a great deal of baggage. The only time being a gentleman has caused hardship for me, is when the expected outcome was distorted. You see, to be a true gentleman, you have to not expect anything in return aside from some…

I agree with you up to the first date paying methodology. It's a sad fact that I have had more than one occasion where a woman went on a date with me solely for a free meal. Now I only will pay for the date under certain circumstances. For instance, if this is someone that I got a chance to get to know bit before going on the date, I am obliged to pay since I asked (like meeting someone at a party, or a co-worker). If I am meeting someone from the internet though, I refuse to as I don't know the…

I don't think this is expected by most women anymore, but almost all appreciate it. I don't expect a woman to make me a sandwich after sex, but I sure do like it. People generally like to have nice things done for them. I think the notion of subordination is silly though. If a woman thinks you are less than her because you are a gentleman, then she is not worth the time; move on. If a man thinks a women is less than him because she cleaned the toilets and did the dishes, then he is a straight up…

Be a gentleman! I live by this everyday. You can be for equal rights and also follow "antiquated" customs. It's not about a mold you should fall into, but the ability to chose. Just like women have a choice to follow a more modern path or a more traditional path (career vs. a stay at home mom). It's all about the ability to make a choice, and you, my good sir, have chosen wisely in your quest to be a gentleman.

You handle them like you would handle someone of any gender who insults you publicly, by using your wit to make them look the fool.

I think your comment on there was juvenile and did nothing but let people think this sub is full of over-reactive wackjobs. That being said; I've never met a woman who had a problem with me "knocking at the door" in the middle of the night. If they were tired, I got a no and rolled back over. If I got woken up with a BJ (from my lover, not some piece of strange I've never had before), I'd think it was sweet. Does that make me weird?

What honor? What the hell is so honorable about rejecting someone? So, you half suspected... whatever that means... that girls were pulling your leg? So you never actually tried to get with any of them? How do you even know then? Stop trying to validate your mistakes. The truth is that you were too afraid to actually make the move. Not once have you mentioned any anecdote about being ACTUALLY rejected. A girl actually looking you in the eyes, after you've asked her out, and saying "no". All I am…

You did those thing because you had low self confidence to begin with. Clearly they didn't work top bring up your self-confidence. Now, you should never use JHS as a template for how you will be as an adult. It's silly to compare your hormone riddled, adolescent self to your adult self. In JHS I was a pimply, fat, smelly nerd that got made fun of constantly. Girls would play tricks on me and make me feel even worse. It was a terrible terrible time. Most people would say this about JHS. I'm willi…

You can get girls. Maybe not supermodels, but you can get girls. It's the mindset that you can't get girls that keeps you from getting them. They can smell that from a mile away. Don't be surprised by shitty people. It will just make you more cynical; expecting them to adhere to some utopian model of morality and empathy. Did you like this girl? After that happened, did you try to be her friend? If so, what happened? If not, why?

Have you considered joining a church and getting involved? Not in the extreme way of becoming a priest, but in a way that you and other churchgoers have events and do stuff together? The whole college fuck everything that moves scene is not for everyone. From your post, I take it that you have an ideological view of how a woman should be; an old fashioned one. I also take from it that you are frustrated and feel like there are no women even worth your time; hence perpetual virginity. My suggesti…

I'd love to see how procreatin suffers when we need to ask consent to touch someone's arm.: Her: Really? You like that band too? I thought I was the only one! Him: Me too! We have a lot in common. Her: I think so too ::freindly touch on arm:: Him: WTF!? Did you ASK if you could touch me? When will people learn we can't bubble wrap the Earth? Really, this is less of a men's rights issue and more of a "Are you fucking kidding me!?" issue of the highest order of overreaction and stupidity. I'm will…

Yeaaahhhh I thought about that, but look at the size of that post. I had to start tossing the minute details. Cut me some slack Jack. haha. However, I wasn't aware of the gigolo's customers being primarily male.

I'm confused as to why you are fixated on the 12 year old thing honestly. I don't think anyone here (I hope) would condone that. A 12 year old is clearly too young. I know there are societies that condone it, and that is a problem in and of itself; but it makes you come off.... fear mongerish? I'm also a little concerned that you are segregating it to older men and younger women, when we are living in a time where being a cougar is glamorized. It's a bit of a double standard ya know? I know we c…

Age of consent is a really tricky thing. I think ideally age of consent should start at 17 - 18, then after that we go by the "(age / 2) + 7" rule, which seems to scale rather well. So someone who is 18 should not be dating someone younger than 16, 20 no younger than 17, etc. Even that is flawed though. It's such a grey area; because you want to prevent clearly older people from banging out those much younger habitually (is in: bang and run), but you also don't want to incriminate someone who is…

I always find it odd that so many women ask permission to come here. It's MensRights, not MensClub. Speak your mind!

I dunno. This boy learned a valuable lesson nice and early: Don't shake your junk at people. The mom is a little ridiculous to mention the words sexual harassment in regards to small children though. It's just a boy being annoying and a girl suspending that.

It's nice to know there are still women out there that still appreciate good men and want to keep them that way. Your dad is lucky to have you in his life.

I've been saying this for a while now. The status quo of "the guy pays" contributes to the idea that men simply need more money to have an equal footing in life. This is starting to change though. The vast majority of women I go on dates with wish to pay their own way. I happily oblige. I'm not mister money bags. ;)

I don't think anyone here would say that women have it better than men; or that men have it better than women. The idea is that we should be able to empower women without dis-empowering men. Women still face issues, but so do men. We live in a confusing time right now when it comes to gender roles. As a man, I can say I am very confused. Do I hold that door open? Do I pay for this meal? Is it ok for me to want my mate to make me a sandwich after sex? Why does it make me a bad person? Does it? Wi…

I think this is taken out of context. I read it as: "Nine because that's how many seats we have and there should be no cap based on sex. that's ridiculous."

I don't care about the repercussions. Children are everything. If I see one who needs help, I will help them. Be damned what people on the street might think. I have just as much a right to cherish and protect children as women do.

The same people who believe this dribble are probably also the first people to cry "inequality!" should a man try to play the gender role card. How is this any better than me saying something like "Only men can be soldiers because men have an instinct to fight and women are nurturers"? Basically, you can't scream about the injustice of inequality while at the same time keeping the awesome parts of inequality to yourself. Just doesn't work that way.

I'm a couchsurfer who doesn't host due to fear of encountering a weirdo. I totally understand your concern, as a male will often be stronger than you. Then again, you're not much safer just because your guests may be two women. Either way, you're getting overpowered. Check out their references. If they have a lot of good ones, then I see nothing to fear. If they have little to none, then being reserved seems fair. Basically, base it on the person; not sex and/or age.
