I do think there is something to be learned from other countries that have 90-95% less gun violence, but still have a strong gun culture. It usually just means slightly more regulation. Just like alcohol or the war on drugs; don't ban, just legalize and regulate. Works for Australia. In the US we just legalize guns but the only real movement on regulate is to loosen regulations. Reduce the number of guns out there, and then have a license system for owning any type of gun you want. Just like a driver's license, you need to prove you are capable; instead of finding out after the fact who is capable of owning, usually with deadly consequences.
