The point is it proves the existence of double standards. And that many feminists single out certain things happening to women, wittingly ignoring that men go through the same things courtesy of the reportedly oppressed gender. So it both dispels accusations of systemic misogyny and demonstrates that they're not interested in gender equality as much as they're cracked up to be.

The point is that if genders were reversed, there would be an instant backlash that would lead Disney to issue an apology for perpetuating patriarchal oppression of women. Double standards -such as this- applied to genders is called sexism.

I'm with you on the attempt to remain impartial. While I completely respect that some people may want to focus only on one gender, I never foresee anything good coming out of downplaying issues faced by individuals on either side of the fence.

I'd recommend you to watch "Violence & Silence" by Jackson Katz Ph D, that can be found on Youtube, in which we learn that gender violence = violence committed by men against women "and children". If spreading awareness about the fact that men can be victim of domestic violence as well isn't something you consider part of "Men's rights", I'd very much like to hear your rationale.
