Back in the day, I (weirdly) discovered that my super cheap, LVM boss was p*rn sick when we were talking about how we voted during a recent election. We had a super casual vibe (definitely fostered by him), and we lived in a state where you always had to vote on a bunch of propositions. When I mentioned that I'd voted for the much-discussed proposition that stated condoms needed to be worn during porn shoots in our state, boy did he go off and doth protested too much. As soon as I saw how mad he…

I'm so sorry that happened to you and so relieved it got taken down. No expectation of privacy is one of the main reasons I'm off dating apps these days. Just last week, I went on TikTok and one guy had made a zillion videos of him swiping left and right on women who had clearly not consented to this. I b*tched him out in the comments and reported it, but there is very little we can do to keep our photos from getting into the wrong hands. So pathetic that these people have nothing else better to…

I really feel for her and she's been so brainwashed. "No shame to anyone who likes that." NOPE! ALL the shame to them. Honestly, we need to bring back shame. The no kink shaming "movement" is ruining relationships and making life even MORE insanely difficult for women. Kink shame early and often!

That part. It's really not that serious. It was a slap on another man, not some weird cannibal sh^t.

I had an abusive dad and Will's behavior did not set off any alarm bells for me that way. To me, it seemed like maybe he's been having a rough time lately and apparently Chris Rock has been picking on their family for a while. I think the "jokes" about his wife/relationship finally boiled over and escalated into that. All of us can snap (although it should never culminate in physical violence) when being needled about something over and over again. That's just my take.

Interesting that she still "strongly believes that he cares" about her. The patriarchy loves to push this lie. "He lOveS you, even though his actions completely counter that idea..."

It's a red flag. A lot of them are red pill types, I don't know why. Years ago, there was this Women in Blockchain group and they were all losing their minds. Over women just wanting to be a part of the crypto space.

Yes, this show was a good reminder that even when someone has wheedled themselves into your rarefied social circle, you still need to vet. Sarma took it for granted that because this dude interacted with Alec Baldwin (also her friend) online all the time, he was okay. If she had probed deeper, she probably would have discovered that they were just internet friends and the guy needed to be treated like a stranger and not a friend of a friend. Also, she was NEVER ATTRACTED to him. The whole thing …

YES! Unfortunately, you must look for a new job. This was my experience working in tech when a male boss denied me the incremental raise everyone else in our department received and then was trying to get me fired. Echoing everyone who's said to carefully document every situation. It was a lose-lose situation for me, as my boss was a kiss-ass who had bamboozled the higher-ups, so I knew I had to find a new job. After I did, however, I made sure to torpedo this man. I knew that he liked to leave …

This happened to me too. They NEVER want to go to his place. If there were a pick-me handbook, aggravating and scaring a roommate instead of just going to his place would be one of the "Musts".

You are 100% in the right. And it's probably time to move out if this is the way she runs her life. I'd start looking for a new place ASAP. Make sure you lock up your stuff if you go on vacation. Ugh, I once had a roommate who dated a coke dealer and ended up having to move out because I was terrified that someone would come after him while he was over. And he was over ALL the time, even though I also voiced my concerns. These pick-mes always want to bring these men over, never want to go to the…

$500?!? So he bought them all a coffee and that's it. Gee, I wonder why they don't want to jump in bed with him. When I did OLD, there were a few guys who spent this much on ONE date alone, not over SIXTY. (And these guys weren't even amazing people or HVM!) He should know that that is what some of the "competition" is doing. How embarrassing for him. PLEASE, dude, just stay home and stop wasting women's time.

Yup! My jaw dropped when she said Tinder had "nothing" to do with this. Really, Cecilie? How else would you have met this guy? How else would he have been able to trick you into thinking he was successful? As soon as she started talking about love through the Disney movie idealization, I knew she was screwed. I really feel for you. My dad was awful in many of these ways too. The best thing you can do right now is become financially independent and extricate yourself from the situation. Do something every single day to move you closer to that goal. Develop strong friendships and alliances in the outside world, people you would want to spend holidays with, maybe some gals your age who have similar tough family situations. Therapy is wonderful too. Also, at some point, get a DNA test. I discovered my da…

The job situation is a huge red flag. (Traveling, doesn't sound like an actual job, also he's "in between jobs", like what is happening here). Also, first date was not dinner, it was drinks. A FDS gal following the handbook would have successfully dodged this bullet.

Yah, this was a red flag for me too. My friend was doing OLD and all the "Marine Engineer" profiles were scammers. This guy travels every month and also happens to be in "between jobs"? Something is seriously off here.

Also, if you find yourself enamored with a married man, ask yourself whether you could be suffering from undiagnosed mental health issues. Back in my early twenties, I was 100% convinced by my untreated borderline personality disorder that this married man in his early thirties was my star-crossed lover and we were meant to be together. Meanwhile, his wife was pregnant. Luckily, I escaped that situation but it was a total waste of my time and energy and could have ended in heartbreak if she had …

Thank you for writing out this detailed list. It's amazing! Also a great strategy for rooting out LVF. Just last week, a gross guy let his shopping cart crash into my car and I b*tched him out. When I told a friend about this incident, she acted like I was the crazy one because I yelled at him...for damaging my car. This was a friend I've done a lot of favors for, too. I have a friend in a situation like this. Her fiancé just won't leave the house. Wonder if this guy has untreated agoraphobia and that's why she wants him to get therapy. Like others have replied, there is WAY more to this story than he is presenting.

So with the food/drinks comment, did he mean that you were supposed to pay for HIS food too? OMG. If so, can we please have a breakdown of the bill lol? In all seriousness, I'm so glad you got out of this situation okay. Next time, please just duck out of there after the first red flag and block and delete. I suspect he wants a forever break, and this is how he plans on starting Phase One of it. He's probably hoping she'll start the proceedings so he doesn't have to. How disgusting. Doesn't even have the integrity to initiate a breakup with his own WIFE.

"On the point of not knowing the donor, their medical history, how many other women their sperm has impregnated: is it really that different than having had sex with a guy to get pregnant?" Yes, it IS different. If you have sex with a random guy to get pregnant, chances are that he doesn't have 75 other kids in the same area and won't set up your child for possible accidental incest. That's just one potential issue that can arise from using donor sperm. As a donor kid myself, I easily could have…

Yes, it is really nice to have some contact with my genetic family. I'm extremely lucky in this regard. Similar to your cousin in that there was a flurry of contact in the beginning but now it's settled down to pleasant occasional emails etc. I agree with much of what you said, but a child's chances of being rejected by a donor are much, much, much higher. Especially if the donor has been promised "AnONYmity" And the WAYS in which DC kids are rejected are far worse than an absent dad. A deadbeat…

Yes, I am MUCH more similar to my donor than the dad who raised me. (This is a very good thing in my case). The donor and I even have similar careers. I didn't know who he was until I was an adult, so that's completely random.

Thank YOU so much for giving them the option to contact you. There's a natural curiosity that us donor kids have about our bio families. These are complicated and nuanced situations, often involving lots of different personalities bringing these new souls into the world. I was donor-conceived. If you are going to go this route, then please think about it very carefully. Your child is always, always going to wonder about the donor, so DON'T choose one who's "anonymous". The sperm banks still sell donors on the idea that they can be anonymous even in 2022, just to get men to donate. Then they're in for a rude awakening when their kid figures out who they are because one of their siblings signed up for a DNA website. I've talked to so many people who have been reje…

Yes, at the very least, since they didn't have the balls to report him to the police, one has to wonder why Ralph Rieckermann or Steven Bauer wouldn't try to THROW OUT the illegal stack of fake IDs their friend was keeping for underage girls? Maybe that would have saved at least one young girl from getting raped.

They've been "partners" for five years? No marriage proposal on the horizon, of course, but lots of crappy comments about her weight. Honestly, sounds like he was just trying to get her to break up with him. She is fortunate it's over — what a useless 'man'.

Yep, all true. One of my friends from back in the day used to be a call girl (an expensive one, too). How did I find out? She and I were at a hot hipster bar in NY when this drunk, slurring idiot comes up and makes it obvious that he had been one of her clients. I felt bad for her, it was so incredibly awkward and awful. I've never seen it end well either. Before I went to therapy, I would sometimes act crazy myself after getting a crush. This led to many of the scenarios you mention. Ego-boosting, "friends" with benefits, yada yada. Never again. Just recently, heard about a friend of a friend who initially pursued a man then had to propose to him eventually. Like winning the Pick-Me Olympics.

100% agree. Women's reproductive rights are probably going to be obliterated and we are going to bear witness to things that haven't been seen since the 1960s. Innocent women will likely die as a result of all this. And we have social media now, so this should be interesting. Anyway, no sex is "casual" anymore. Every woman needs to act accordingly. Casual sex no longer exists. Guard your uterus with your life.

Awesome post. The thing that drives me crazy about Anne Boleyn's story is that it is packaged to young girls as "a great romance" in popular culture. "I wAs JuSt STarTinG tO TuRN My lIFe ArOund". Suuuuuure, after 10 years lol! He wrote barely a few sentences, and it's already obvious he has NPD. Everything is about HIM and his feelings; he doesn't care why she did this or how he made her feel. And everyone should have a crappy holiday because HE is. Wherever she is, I'm happy for her that she got rid of this LVM. Happy holidays indeed!

He's "sick"?! In the age of COVID and hopes "he feels better" in 3 days? Of course, I don't believe he's sick at all, but even this lame excuse is a big NOPE. What a loser. Please block and delete.

Welp, now that she's got the baby's college money together, time to write the second book to make paying for the divorce lawyer a breeze. Hopefully it's a series and she can use the third book to pay for a new house without him. God, I HATE this guy. This talented queen is an absolute gem.

I honestly doubt this "relationship" with Kim is real. They were literally connected by their publicists. It's a great business come-up for both of them. It's provocative. They posed for a pic with Kris Jenner together, that's all you need to know. It's a business deal. He gets more visibility and she gets to have a "rebound" from Kanye in public. Sure, maybe they banged once or twice, but I don't think that they are actually "dating" or that this represents ANY kind of a relationship that mirro…

"Politely turn her down" lol. There's nothing polite about wanting to get rid of someone literally right after you sleep with them. What he means is how can I escape guilt for ditching her and still feel like a Nice Guy and/or how can I avoid a freakout because she might go CRaZy now. My only hope is that she does freak out and make him miserable for a bit. Women are way too polite to LVM like this. Call it out.

100%. One of the reasons I avoided therapy for so long was because my NPD dad weaponized his therapy to learn how to manipulate people more. He used it the way Tony Soprano uses it on The Sopranos. Don't trust a man more because he's in therapy, and definitely take it as a red flag if he talks about therapy too soon.

Yep, Marty Ginsburg. 100% HVM.

He's 100% LVM, but I feel like they're both kind of strange. Having had a lot of friends who worked in the service industry, I would not want to take up a table for SIX(!) hours. They could have at least switched venues and gotten a drink somewhere else close. No first date needs to go on that long. Didn't she have something else to do? Anything else? Anyway, if he knows parking is hellish at this place and they don't take reservations, I would give her 15 minutes grace period. Lateness is a bad…

Great post! Isn't it amazing how LVM show their true colors once immediate sex is off the table? Geez. You really did dodge a bullet — and it's a great lesson. And the FaceTime thing is good for all of us to take note of — a sneaky way to build fake intimacy without really investing anything. Will be on alert for that one in the future. Thankfully, you didn't spend too much time on him. This post definitely struck a chord — been there too. Thanks to FDS, massively reevaluating my tendency to pro…

That was the part that made me scream. She's talking about being able to hear her gross husband w/his "girlfriend" at night. Kids are not stupid. They know what's going on, and this is so disgusting.

Gotta love how judgmental the second dude is about sugar daddies and hot wives lol. Like, God forbid someone else benefit in any way from this "bit of fun on the side." He wants his sex work done for FREE and says he's not into "obvious gross stuff", but I beg to differ. EW.

Same. I had two wonderful bosses that were HVM. Both married forever.

I have BPD and (in addition to therapy) have found FDS to be one of the most helpful resources out there. These outsiders, regardless of gender, need to stop criticizing and take much of the advice on here to heart. FDS is even MORE helpful if you have mental illness.

That is a gross fetish and probably would have escalated to something even worse eventually. Congratulations on your freedom.

Seconding. I would TOTALLY buy this book.

Yup! The female bff is also a red flag. A few years ago, I dumped a LVM with a long-distance female bff and wouldn't ya know it, 2 months later she moved across the country to be with him. Years later, of course they live together and he has not married her.
