Well, in my experience, it seems to be true unfortunately. The good thing, though, is that it's only a generality. In other words, there are women out there who will value you for who you are, or for the love and friendship you provide to them. For example, there are many stories of women who stay with their husbands and boyfriends even when the guy loses his employment, or goes through some sort of crisis or life-changing event. Also, hopefully you have parents or family members who value you f…

I'm one of those people who choose not to marry under the current legal climate (I voted "unsure"). I would like to marry one day, but right now it makes more sense for me to just have friends. Part of my reasoning has to do with divorce laws. I don't see very many benefits from marriage that i can't get from close friendship, while there are tons of risks and downsides, most of which are commonly known here and in other men's forums. Aside from divorce law, another reason i choose to be single …

I think a good portion of us might be libertarian. It also seems to me that most MRAs I've come across seem to be a bit on the conservative side. I don't have any hard data to back it up though.

What can men do to protect themselves against false accusations. And I would ask if they've noticed any commonalities between the false accusations that they've seen. It would also be interesting to know what percentage of accusations turn out to be false, and what legal options are available and recommended for someone who is falsely accused. However, those questions would probably be better answered by a defense attorney rather than a cop.

There's essentially no benefit to me, so I can't see why I would ever be interested.

I used to consider myself a leftist, but after the past year and a half, I'd say I'm more of a libertarian now. The main things that the left have done that disillusioned me are: Pushing for mandatory vaccination, and for locking unvaccinated people out of society. Especially when the left are supposedly the ones who advocate for bodily autonomy. Also, it's creepy how they label anyone who forgoes the vaccine as uneducated, misinformed Trump supporters. Acting like Joe Biden is a hero who can ne…

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a template website where they all copy/paste this from. It's always exactly the same, just a few words changed or sentences moved.

Well at least she's open about it. Nowadays, it seems like most girls want an open relationship without the boyfriend knowing.

I'm not sure about how your life is right now, but if you don't have one yet, I would look for a full-time job. And then find a hobby that you enjoy and can immerse yourself in on your time off. Also, I would try to build a closer relationship to any siblings or friends who you get along with and who won't pressure you to date. With a full-time job, hobbies, and friends, you'll enjoy life and will be optimistic about your future. You'll be so focused on accumulating wealth and learning new skill…

I have a few close family members who I trust a lot, and if I ever strike it rich, I'll definitely share a bit of my wealth with them while we're all healthy and can enjoy it (only spending a small percentage of it, of course). And when I die, they'll inherit the rest of my money and can do whatever they want or need with it.

Marriage is like moving your wealth out of investment funds and real estate, and keeping it in US Dollars long-term instead.

Gone my own way. To be honest, when I first found out about MGTOW, I saw it more as dismissing society's expectations and living my own best life. I knew from early adolescence that I wasn't the most attractive or masculine person, and that dating would be hard for me, so I decided that I would be happier being single and not stressing out about finding someone to date/marry. I work a regular full-time job, but I try to avoid consumerism and stash away as much money as I can into investments I b…

Honestly, I don't really care. I don't follow those types of girls on social media anyway, so it's not something I really think about.

1 and 2: We had a lot of the same people in our social circles, so she would tell people that we were in a relationship and were working towards marriage. She knew that I only wanted to be friends, so she would only tell them when I wasn't present. She also used pictures that we took together for her social media, adding hearts and relationship-style stuff. I would be straightforward and honest. In my case, I would have to be friends for several years before I even consider a relationship. That …

That was a great post. I could sense that romantic love was overvalued by society, but you did a great job of articulating the reasons behind it (many of which I've never considered). Thanks for sharing this.

Yes. I'm buying as much crypto as I can afford. Bitcoin Cash and Monero to be specific. Also putting a bit of money in my 401k, but to be honest, I don't have much faith in the stock market. I just do it because my workplace matches my contributions up to a certain point. Honestly, saving money for retirement and for a rainy day is just plain ol' common sense. I hope everyone makes an effort to save whatever they are able to, in assets that hold their value.

I'm saving as much money as I can and stashing it away in crypto. It's treated me well in the past, and I think it's only going to gain value with what's going on with fiat currency. As for vacations, there are a few hiking trails and random places in the desert southwest that I want to check out this winter. I'm also planning to attend more meetups this year for things I'm interested in. I used to attend them a lot in the past, but the corona put an end to it for a while. Hopefully I'll be able…

For friendships to work out, you kinda need to have things in common with each other. I can't imagine that you would have much in common with "hot girls", but I could be wrong. Honestly, you'd be much happier with friends who share the same interests, regardless of their gender or attractiveness. And yes, an attractive girl will definitely see you as an orbiter if you're the one that approaches her. Which, to be honest, it sounds like you would be one. Why else would you require this friend to b…

Same thing that would happen to your investment and bank accounts. In that scenario, only food, supplies, and skills would have any value. Nobody would care how much gold you can trade, unless you can make something useful out of it.

Real estate certainly has inherent value, but it is an illiquid investment, and there are lots of barriers to entry for investors. A large number of people don't have the capital or the credit score to invest directly in real estate. Furthermore, owning real estate requires registering that investment with the government. This makes it very easy for them to tax your investment, and to confiscate it if they so choose. And then there are other ways the government can manipulate, such as the renter…

Could be, but I see it as a free market of money, where the best currencies win against the scamcoins and those that don't innovate. In my opinion, currency needs to be decentralized in order to be sound, or else the group in charge of the currency will eventually manipulate it. The United States used to be on the gold standard, and look how easily the fed and the government ended that. Also, inflation, high cost of living (which is essentially inflation), and rising home prices are the direct r…

Yes. I completely agree. This is why I really hope the crypto revolution works out and becomes mainstream. Society desperately needs sound money that isn't manipulated by governments, bankers, or political parties to benefit their rich donors and Wall Street. I've only ever taken Econ 101, but I believe a lot of society's problems (including falling real wages, skyrocketing home prices, social unrest/racial tension, mental health issues, low labor participation, etc.) would be either fixed or si…

The sad thing is that I know of a guy who was labeled as a pedo by his wife because he changed their daughter's diaper while she was busy. Seriously messed up. Made him not want to help out much with their children after that, and I don't blame him.

Working-class white men are probably the demographic most discriminated against. The "woke" crowd could bring some actual positive change, and very easily, if they recognized the struggles faced by white men on the lower end of the socioeconomic ladder. But, for some reason, they refuse to consider the fact not all white men are members of their "elite patriarchy".

Still too much. Back when I used to date, I would spend about that much of my monthly income on dating (cheap dates, like fast food picnics or a cheap activity). I still felt like I was being taken advantage of. Maybe I'm just stingy. But if society allows them to be that way, I don't see why I can't be too.

As far as I know, MGTOW is more of a lifestyle, and not a formal organization with a platform. So there are lots of different views here. I, myself, am asexual, as well as genderqueer and maybe trans. I'm also close friends with a few women, but that's as far as our relationships will go. Society and the law still see me as 100% male though, so I can relate to many of the things that are said in this group.

Definitely not. For me, I would only be comfortable with sexual intimacy after maybe a few years of close friendship (in my pre-MGTOW days). If she's willing to sell her sexuality to complete strangers for a few bucks, it'd be too much of a difference in how we each value sex. Also, "once a whore, always a whore."

Shouldn't she be posting this on the Rants and Raves section of Craigslist and not on a dating app? I honestly can't imagine why anyone would swipe right to this angry woman.

My mom is exactly the same way. I think she just wants grandkids lol. It sounds like your mom doesn't understand that marriage and family life are completely different for men and women. When women have kids, they are almost guaranteed to keep them and have a close relationship with them throughout their childhood years. However, there are many divorced or overworked men who only get to spend time with their kids one or two days a week, if that. And in the case of divorce, those kids are probabl…

I'm totally with you on being disgusted by sex. I've been friends with several religious-type women, and hearing about how often they sleep around and the types of people they sleep with, I wonder if they ever learned about STIs. I'm disease-free, and I kinda want to stay that way. I'm even turned off by kissing because I'm scared of picking up herpes from some girl. Also, I'm the deeply emotional, hopeless romantic type, and there's nothing romantic about being just another name on their list. …

I don't see how his intelligence should have any impact on the responses he deserves to receive. And, to be honest, I think it's very insulting to openly question his intelligence in the first place. As far as I know, none of us here know him or his potential date personally. The only relevant information we have is what he tells us in his post. I can only assume he's describing his potential date accurately to the best of his knowledge. If he is bending the truth and misleading us, then the adv…

Honestly, from the way you describe her, she seems to be a great person. This might be an unpopular opinion here, but I think you should go ahead and date her if you want. As long as you feel respected in the relationship, you can continue as friends or start a romantic relationship. I would just be very careful with anything further than that, like sex, cohabitation, or marriage. Because the laws and judges are biased against men, there's more risk of being falsely accused of abuse or rape. Or,…

Nah, I still wouldn't marry. It's socially acceptable for a wife to work less or even stop working once she has a husband to support her. And you'll be trapped to whatever she decides to do, because of the lopsided marriage laws. That last sentence you wrote is so depressing, because it is so often true. Again, because it's socially acceptable for girls to take advantage of guys. Back when I tried dating, it felt like girls would only love me for the free meals and entertainment I could provide …

That's exactly why I will never marry. There's way too much risk, and once you're married, you have no control over the outcome. It's basically a roll of the dice, and the odds are not in your favor (even if you're both unicorns).

I was going to recommend exactly that (kayaking). You might be able to rent a kayak from a college nearby for really cheap (the universities here where I live rent out recreational stuff). A while back when I was in the deep South, I went canoeing in a swampy forest and it was so much fun. Very different from what we have out west.

I guess every relationship is different, and I don't know much about yours. All I can do is share my similar experience, from a guy's perspective. So my best friend right now is a girl, and we've been super close for the past 5 years. We go on road trips together, sometimes do things with each other's families, and usually spend time with each other about once every weekend, sometimes more. I'm also romantically attracted to her, and by how she acts around me I can tell that she has feelings for…

Yes, exactly this. Especially if they're calling you a loser. That's a sure sign of manipulation. How do the men around you react when they find out you don't have a girlfriend? If your experiences are anything similar to mine, they're probably really jealous of all the freedom, lack of drama, and lack of financial commitments in your life.

True, but honestly, I don't see what the big deal is when it comes to passing down genes. I mean, I'm only going to be around for maybe 70 years at best, so why would I care whose genes people have after I'm gone? I just think it's funny how people, especially my family, act like it's something tragic that I won't pass down my genes by getting married and starting a family.
