Fair enough! Albert Ellis was one of two founders of what we now call Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (the other was the more academic Aaron Beck). AE called it REBT for Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. The idea behind REBT was that people have irrational beliefs and that specifically our beliefs about events lead to our emotional consequences. By disputing our irrational beliefs, we can become more sane. He was one of the founders and influencers of the "self help" movement. In turn, he was in…

If you are into working on yourself, you should find out about Albert Ellis!

What would you do with an average or less attractive woman?

I can't judge your situation, but I doubt prison dad was a better role model. At least your dad slogged it out to work every day to keep the family fed. Something to be said for that. Not every dad can be Steve McQueen.

Kudos to you for recognizing what you don't want to be like. There are resources that others have alluded to that can help. But, I want to point out that your Dad stayed married, made you, had some part in getting you to college. Have a little respect for the man and what he has gone through in his life to get what he has, and to get you where you are. I don't know you or your situation, and I know not all people, and not all families are perfect or even good. To me, though, respecting my family…

This is a big question, and one that I am surprised doesn't get asked more often on Reddit. To borrow a line from Freud, a psychologically healthy person is able "to love and to work." I think if you are lurking in Seddit, you have a head start in the love department. Despite the standard PUA/MRA concerns about marriage, if you find the right person, starting a family and having a traditional married lifestyle might be very appealing. As far as work, start thinking now, while you can do somethin…

These threads have a tendency to turn into "interesting books I have read" lists. I don't think any non-game book really helped, it's such a new development. That being said, Robert Wright's The Moral Animal (1994) was my gateway into evolutionary psychology, way back when, and that opened my mind to game, which is the practical outgrowth.

You might need a time machine back to the 70's. Does happen but not terribly common these days.

Easier to display status out in public with a group than at home.

I think most women go out to bars to be social with their friends. Socializing and status seeking are drivers of female behavior. Maybe you can help them by being fun and outgoing, and displaying high status. If you can do those things, maybe one of them would want to meet up for some fun afterwards.

For me (INTJ) whatever small success I have had has come from compensating for my introversion, and faking extroversion to some degree. If looking for a LTR, I wouldn't try to act too differently from my habitual personality, or I could attract the wrong person. The only benefit of introversion with regard to my game has been introspection in to my past behaviors. Also, willingness to read and study to learn what other people think about the game. You can certainly get laid despite being an intr…

One of the basic tenants of seduction, is to avoid oneitis. Granted, this is difficult to practice sometimes. But, I feel >50% of the posts revolve around this. Good suggestions in here on how to do this in the real world.

Not sure this is a problem, or shows a lack of leadership or alpha traits. You need to be able to escalate when needed, but a leader shows reserve and uses that as one tactic out of many. You will learn a lot in the military if you pay attention to what goes on around you.

Agree and amplify on the arm hair, and tease back. You may need to groom your eyebrows. For goodness sake, don't shave your arm hair unless you are into other dudes.

First thing that comes to mind, is that straight males are usually not popular at lesbian bars. Where do you think you are going to open sets for her? Maybe she is into straight girls? Will be tough for her to close I imagine.

I have dated lesbians before. Generally they have identified that way as sort of an advanced attention whore strategy. Also may mean the psych disorders are strong with this one... Have fun!

I think the game is now more than approaches and closing. Game is learning about human nature and applying it to social situations. Keep learning and growing your knowledge. Learning how to converse with people, grow their interest, and influence their behavior. As mentioned below: inner game, fitness, and style are game-related and don't depend on approaching. Also, you can work to keep your gf's interest using what you have learned.

Hi. Wow. I wish I was 18 again, starting college. There is so much I found out later that I wish I had known then. Anyway, to answer your question, I would suggest the following: Read "Bang" by Roosh which will get you up to speed on the game concepts. If at all possible join a fraternity, which was one of the most worthwhile things I did in terms of college experience and social opportunities Study abroad if you can, nothing like being in a foreign country with your horny classmates. exercise e…
