Man check out the Gotham show. It starts a little slow but once it gets going, it REALLY gets going. The acting is stellar. And the guy who plays the Joker (or proto-Joker) in it is on another level. Yep, can relate. I've probably only bought maybe 10-15 pairs of shoes and like 5 pairs of glasses in my entire life so far. And my clothes are just plain t-shirts that come in packs of 3 and basic jeans. I own pretty much no furniture except a couch and bed. Minimalism for life. If you're looking for something else to watch, Silicon Valley is pretty fun and kinda similar but as with every show it does have its fair share of useless and annoying female characters.
