Every day on here there's a post that amounts to "women only want to fuck men they're attracted to" as if that's a major revelation or something to get fired up about or debate about. I don't get it. What is there to debate.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/24 10:47 AM

I mean first of all, I think the idea that women want dominance only extends to men they know/in the context of dating or a relationship. Most women don't want to be dominated by strangers(???) In any case, saying "give me your phone number" is a statement, not a question, and it isn't "dominant" behavior, it's "socially bizarre". Making demands of any kind toward people you don't know, whether it's "give me your phone number" or "move your head, you're blocking my view" is socially bizarre, but…

I'm not saying it was liberating in any way, I am saying that it's fascinating that going to a bar alone as a woman was considered unacceptable for a long time.

Here's a kind of odd anecdote - did you know that TGI Fridays was invented so single women would have a place to go to the bar as single women, because it was considered inappropriate for single women to go to single bars alone? That's how odd the social position was for unmarried women up until at least the 1960s. I'm not saying things have completely changed, there's still shaming that happens especially in more conservative communities, but yes, unmarried women are able to participate in main…

"Spinster" was not a desirable role for a woman to play in society and you know it.

I'm convinced these posts are fetish fodder or something at this point.

"Women never had to marry out of necessity" - this is not true on any level.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 12:19 PM

In any transaction (since you're framing sex that way) the most desperate party is always at a disadvantage, yes. It's the idea of "beggars can't be choosers" and that's true in literally every realm of interaction, not just in dating or relationships and not specifically in terms of gender. Be less desperate, that's the only "solution" to this "problem"
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 08:38 PM

I think it's on the floor in some ways and not in others. On an emotional level, the level of emotional involvement women expect from men is actually not that absurd. It's pretty reasonable (although somewhat novel) to expect your husband to be faithful, to emotionally connect, and empathize with you in general, and to treat you like a human being. Not cheating, not being abusive, that's not an insanely high bar to clear either. I do think, though, that the material bar is higher than it has eve…

OP didn't say the hypothetical women were trying to date someone out of their league, just that they were raising their standards; there's no description of how attractive the hypothetical single mom in question is. You can also raise your standards in some ways and not others. I just don't think raising your standards universally means you're going to get cheated on (???)
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 12:16 AM

You're assuming everybody wants a partner an equal amount. Some people are raising their standards knowing full well they may end up single as a result, or that finding a partner may take more time, and are willing to make that trade. A single mom has a lot of incentive to raise their standards, honestly - it makes sense that they wouldn't want a bad partner around their kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 11:05 PM

Then why would that even out the dating market? If the men in question are still dating outside of prostitution?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 11:25 PM

It wouldn't, because prostitutes don't cook or clean or raise kids for you, which is what a lot of men want/need a wife for. Also, there are countries where prostitution is legal where the dating market hasn't been "balanced" because at the end of the day a lot of people (as has been discussed ad nauseum on this subreddit) want an actual intimate connection with another person.

Yeah, if you have a "cool" job. I know some artsy photographer/musician-types who are exactly what you describe who can effectively pull women because they've constructed a pretty effective "sensitive but broke starving artist" image for themselves.

"Dating multiple people has only been around for about a decade." I'm going to need a source on that? Gen X-ers were absolutely dating around in college, if my parents' stories are to be believed.

The idea that anglosphere women are uniquely materialistic seems to not be true. I've heard people argue that countries like Korea and India are pretty brutal when it comes to requiring men to have high incomes to compete in the dating market.

Looking at a few pictures of a person and 20 words is not the same as meeting a person and seeing if you have chemistry with a person, in person. It's incredibly hard to get the kind of read on a person that lets you know "yes, I could see a potential relationship with that person," with that little information.

I don't think the average woman knows what the manosphere is at all, because women aren't as obsessed with dating strategy as men, because at the end of the day you guys are more horrified of being alone and/or not having sex or a romantic partner than women are.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 01:01 PM

Whether or not you agree is arguably meaningless here. It's not an "argument" that you are not entitled to sex, it's "the law." You cannot force someone to have sex with you whether you feel like you deserve it or need it or not. You can unionize, I guess? You guys are welcome to do that with sex if you want to.

Yes, and it also mischaracterizes how human interactions work and how subjective and random things like love, attraction, and sex can be.

I think you might be overthinking it. It's literally just a play on words of "X's rights" vs "X's wrongs"

Being too obsessed with or desperate for external validation will always seem pathetic. (How much is too much? I guess it's debatable/subjective). Passive aggressiveness or cry-bullying is pathetic to see in women too.

If you're looking at celebrity women without makeup and calling them 7s I think your standards may be a little high.

Watch a "get ready with me" makeup tutorial or the "go to bed with me" series from harper's bazaar on youtube (with the caveat that those women are not only seeing estheticians regularly but have probably had various procedures done to make them look better than most)

The issue here, I think, isn't that men are outright lying, it's that they don't know how much makeup the average woman is wearing. I think when men say "minimal makeup" what they actually are referring to, without realizing it, is often foundation, concealer, lip gloss, eyeshadow, mascara, and blush, on top of a skincare routine. But because there's no colorful eyeshadow or dark lipstick they think the woman isn't wearing much. Women don't often talk to men about how much effort they put into t…

For a long time a woman's attraction to her husband was considered a non-issue; the idea that a woman deserves/would prefer to be attracted to (much less like) the man she marries or dates is a relatively new priority in terms of dating, I think we're just in a growing period/difficult transition right now. I hope and expect that in a few generations things will settle, men will begrudgingly accept having to prioritize "looks-maxxing" (the way women have done for centuries) a little more, and mo…

Do you think that most men who have kids in general are wealthy and attractive? Again, is there anything that exists to back that up? Don't poor people have more kids than rich people?

I think to a lot of those guys it's "proof" that women's standards are nonsensical (i.e. exclude them) because the relationships didn't go the way the single mom wanted. They think that if those women just settled for an uglier, more boring man instead of going for "chad" that they wouldn't have ended up single moms, even though I don't think there's any statistics that back up the idea that most single moms were impregnated by "chads". Some of them also seem mad because some of those women are …

You're talking about two very different situations. A person is never entitled to a relationship with someone who does not want to be in a relationship with them. Once two people consensually enter into a relationship, there are usually parameters that both parties agree on - "needs" or whatever you want to call them. If one party doesn't want to uphold them or is unhappy, one or both parties can decide to end the relationship. Nobody in either situation is being made to do something against the…

Yes (it's rare for a HVM to be childfree) because most high value men begin to prioritize some concept of longevity/legacy after a certain age, even if they put it off for longer than some. To take an extreme example, if you come from a high powered family (say a family with a name - a Getty, a Kennedy, a Morgan, etc.) you'll almost definitely have kids not only because you personally want to but because that's an expectation of anyone with any kind of social standing. After all, who are you goi…

You should do things because you want to do them. You should work out because it's good for you. You should be confident because it's a good way to move through life and a good place from which to make decisions. You should get women flowers for whom you want to get flowers. Improving yourself is never bad advice because it's good to grow as a person, but the idea that there's one dating strategy that will work 100% of the time, in exactly the same way, for 100% of people, is absurd. Very few th…

Is the idea that men who are less attractive are more inclined to be monogamous or more likely to be attracted to their wives as they age backed up statistically anywhere?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/24 05:04 PM

Looks fade for everyone. It's a massive risk to bank on your looks lasting long enough for you to create enough of a financial/social cushion to live the rest of your life on after you turn 40, and it's difficult to return to the work force after being out of it for more than a few years. It's absolutely in beautiful women's best interest to have something else to fall back on.

I'm generalizing here, I acknowledge that, but men aren't generally selecting for assertiveness in women when they date, they're (again, generally) selecting for some manner of nice-ness/agreeable-ness.

I see this take constantly on here and I think the thing that you guys aren't understanding is that you are selecting for certain personality traits (extroversion, bravery to an extent, confidence, charisma, etc.) when you create a system where men are expected to make the first move. Of course it's frustrating, but it's not accidental. If you're too afraid to approach a woman, people can (almost definitely) make the assumption that you're probably not assertive in other arenas either, which is …

Not being able to "read a room" or being unwilling to read a room, is creepy. If you're hitting on a woman in a situation that's clearly making her uncomfortable, or pushing too hard in any social situation, romantic or otherwise, and giving off the vibe that you're unable to read the response of the other person, you will come off as creepy. It's not that one behavior is universally creepy necessarily, because other people's reactions to your behavior might not be universal. It's more about not…

My opinion: For a long time in Western society, the fear of being an old maid motivated a lot of young women to put up with a lot in terms of relationships in order to avoid that fate. It was treated like an inevitability that your life as an unmarried woman (an "old maid", a "spinster", etc.) would be an unpleasant one in comparison to your life as a married woman, and on some level that was true. You don't want to be a single mother in an era where women couldn't truly live independent, upward…

Why wouldn't you try to go after girls who you know are into the hobby you're into? Not every single girl is attracted to the same hobbies just like you're not into every single girl who has any hobby. If a girl told you her hobby was embroidery would that automatically make you attracted to her? Why did you think that would work the other way?

I looked at your post history, just on a hunch, and I think you're maybe focused on the wrong issue here as far as women/dating/sex is concerned, buddy.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 05:46 PM

They aren't worried about competing with women in their 20s because they're not dating men in their 20s, and most people date and marry within their own age range. I believe the vast majority of marriages are between people within 2-4 years of age. Women in their 30s are dating and marrying men in their 30s, women in their 20s are dating and marrying men in their 20s.
