| 2 | I posted this question about Vasectomy as a mens version of Abortion and not having to consult his partner to R/AskFeminists it was removed straight away...so what are MensRights opinions?I don't think of vasectomy as the male equivalent to abortion. Abortion is a last resort solution when a pregnancy has occured. Vasectomy seeks to prevent pregnancy from happening. It would be better to compare a man not telling his partner he had a vasectomy to a woman secretly taking the pill. My thoughts on abortion are that the final decision should be the woman's. If the moderates weren't so silent I might be able to believe that radicals are a minority and aren't accepted by the rest of the movement. But this silence from moderates implies acceptance. The same standards should apply to both genders, and those who pass them should be eligible. If, on average, the standards are higher to reach for one gender than the other, then so be it. With that said, the standards should also be reasonable: for example, an employer shouldn't have unnecessarily high standards of strength for the sole purpose of keeping women out.
