To be precise, I am figuring out how much power and prestige plays a role in smv as compared to money. If money signals resources, prestige signals value in society. In capitalist countries, business leaders are more powerful than political one in same area, while in conservative welfare countries, political leaders have greater edge.

I feel money matters to a point. There's a threshold figure of salary that take care of your health insurance, house, comfort and to a level social mobility. But after that money is all about buying power or increasing smv or paying for good adventure, all that comes naturally with some profession.

Ironically, that's one of the reasons I am joining civil service. In the underdeveloped and developing countries, you actually work as field administrative head in rural areas for implementing policies and making an impact on their lives.
