This exactly. My father was a Navy guy. He shipped out as often as he could. He even took a station in the Midwest and didn't move the family because that's where his girlfriend lived. Because of this he missed all of my and my brother's developmental stages and never grew with us. He doesn't really know us because he missed so much time.
