Yes, this is what I was thinking, too. It is too bad the world got to this stage

And what do you think about this whole thing? I do think it is way overblown -just a crude joke. And I do not think it should be penalized like this. It is between the two parties who are involved with this, and if they are OK with this, it is fine.. And I think it is true even if the shoe is on the other foot. (If it were males doing this.) I think this whole stupid world became way too sensitive. (However if you are playing this game, you definitely should play it evenly. If men would have bee…

The sad thing you still see articles arguing about rampant sexism. Heck, even Biden does it

This is really scraping the bottom of the barrel now. It has nothing to do with this sub's topic.

...because she is the mother. And this always trumps every argument. Sometimes it is warranted; after all we do not know this case in particular, but the child is probably better off with her. (She is not some drug addict or a struggling with mental issues I think.) Would you give the child to the unwilling father instead?
/r/PussyPass04/05/21 10:57 AM

Sure, the child is important. But not at the expense of the victim. This is the point that is contended by the courts. According to the courts the child's interests are paramount. It is a huge injustice, but how do you make it better?

I was joking. It is a sad joke because it is true, unfortunately. You can't win with the woke crowd.

So you are the prime example of toxic masculinity. You can't escape. Either way you are bad.

Again I am unsure about this case. I know of a guy who had a relationship with a 26 year old girl at 16 and he was fine - it was consensual. I also know of a girl who had a 32 year old lover when she was 15. Again, in her case it was fine - but I can easily see that it might damage someone else. As I said :case by case. It's a difficult issue which does not lend itself to blanket solutions
/r/PussyPass24/04/21 02:00 PM

Honestly, the leniency is probably warranted because life is complicated. This really needs to be determined in a case by case basis. My grief is that similar leniency is not extended to cases where the genders are reversed. One gender gets the most liberal treatment, the other is treated in a very puritanic fashion

The thing is that the very same people point out (rightly so) that everyone rushes to condemn Muslims whenever something that looks like a terror attack happens. Yet, they rush to conclusions whenever it suits their agenda. I guess hypocrisy is something that we are all struggling with.

Similar here. I had suicidal thoughts. Then I just got out and felt so relieved jobless, with a ruined career... Yeah.

That is the thing. With a neurosurgeon, it is a nobrainer (pun intended). Nobody would say, gimme the diversity hire. Everyone would insist on the best doctor, even if he was a white cis male. However in politics is less clear cut where the competence is, so you get away with this practice. Even though a bunch of incompetent politicians are worse than an incompetent brain surgeon.

Yes, it can backfire - I made silly jokes like this (not as a vet, but similar situation, when you are taken to be someone to be scared of), and it shocked them. They did not imagine I was joking (I made a joke about having a small prostitution ring as a side-business in the lab I was working in, playing on the "Eastern European thug" stereotype once because it irked me they thought of the place I was from as some lawless, horrible place (it is quite corrupt, though, but not in that way). This is overly ridiculous. Dunno, I would actually be playing on these idiotic notions. When they ask you some stupid shit like this, you can just stare into nothingness and say "that day when I had to clear out an orphanage was tough". Perhaps that jolts them back to reality. Or perhaps not, and they take it seriously. Either way, you win.

I worked in a lab where the PI's wife was the lab manager. She was incredibly toxic with a chip on her shoulder. She kept complaining how women have it harder in science -while she, as an MSc student essentially seduced her PI (her current husband), who divorced her ugly, fat wife to marry a thin, blonde MSc student... (Her, if it was not clear.) She sabotaged all the male PhD students: items not ordered, for example, so you could not do your project, and in general being really abusive and toxi…

In a normal world? Nobody. However when identity politics is used incessantly, and suddenly nobody cares when the "tables are turned", well, the double standard is galling. Hypocrisy is not something people like. I am just thinking: 1. the biology is a bit off. (very much so... you really had to be fucked deep to have sperm in your bone marrow, for one) 2. is this ironic maybe? 3. so female incels are not being pilloried because why? (I do not defend male incels, but what's fair is fair.) -just because they are cute they still should be ridiculed and made fun of on every level of society and media, no?

Yeah, this is somewhat different. Yet she should not get away with it, even if the victims do not come forward. Although it is quite difficult to persecute someone based on solely her confession without any evidence, so there's that. ("I destroyed Troy." will not earn me a prison in the Hague, for example. Just because I said it does not make me guilty of genocide.)

I loved his character in the first Pirates movie. He was cunning, smart and humane at the same time. And used people's expectation of him lying against them -by actually telling the truth. So he was actually honest, too.

...you seriously are trying to argue that women commit about as many murders and other violent offences as men but they get away with it? Because this is what you are trying to argue for. All those female gangs shooting up Chicago and getting away with it for example.
/r/PussyPass13/11/20 10:09 AM

Men DO commit disporportionately more violent crimes than women... that is actually a fact. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_differences_in_crime There are a lot of reasons for it, but it does not mean there are no unjust differences in sentencing, for example -the two things are not mutually exclusive, and pretending that one does not exist will only weaken your arguments for the other. About domestic violence this post (towards the end) has several good statistics. (The picture is even murkie…
/r/PussyPass13/11/20 08:55 AM

This is less than a clear-cut thing than you present it. Domestic violence cases are not as easy to depict as you do it. There is a lot more nuance to it: men and women do commit about equally (men a bit more according to some studies) of ALL cases. Women do get injured more; the extreme violence is overwhelmingly done by men. So while emotional DV, smaller acts of violence are about equally done by both partners, you can't make a blanket statement like this. Here's a blogpost talking about it: …

How can you be so racist? It is obvious that the mess is not their fault, but the patriarcial white oppression's which did not allow them to all go to university and become brain surgeons. It is always the society's (i.e. men's) fault (in predominantly white countries). In non-white countries, it is always the white countries' fault.

Again. Think about a book calling for eradicating Muslims from Europe. You think The Guardian would not expect everyone from Murray, Johnson, Le Penn, Orban and others to immediately denounce the author? Could a book like that even be published? Do not pretend this would be the same if the shoe was on the other foot. If a woman-hater published a book like this, feminists would also demand denouncifications from every single male. The thing seems to be that because she was traumatized, she uses strong language. I think the same can be said about virtually any mass murderer, or any people preaching hate. Normally these are damaged people. Yet I do not see any arguments about reading Mein Kampf in the light of Hitler's abusive father, or the trauma he suffered during the Great War. This understanding seems to be highly selective whom to apply it to. (I am not trying to make Hitler look better, but this also applies to rapis…

The problem with this is that nobody gives a damn when a man does something horrendous. Very rarely you can read 'yes, he is a sexual predator/murderer/wife beater, but we should take in account his horrible childhood" without being called an apologist. Most men who commit horrendous crimes do not come from a well balanced family. There is a clear double standard here.

Makes absolutely no difference. If a woman thinks she is beautiful, she is beautiful. That's it. Most men find all sorts of women attractive; there are very few who only go for half-eyed Koreans with a D cup. If you are comfortable in your skin people will notice and find attractive. (Works for men, too...)

Race is absolutely relevant. It is identity politics, after all. Look at this example: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/sep/27/lavinia-woodward-law-oxford-graduate-justice Woman gets a free pass on stabbing, the complaint is that black, and othe non-white women do not. The thing is, in the main Hungarian news portal (index.hu), the narrative change was very indicative of this whole double standard. First, it was how horrible Depp was. Then, way after the evidence on the contrary came out, and they still churned out articles about poor Amber, suddenly it was "Depp alleges, he must be desperate", and when the whole thing became a bit too hard to keep up, it was "they both were abusers, it was a toxic relationship". So aside from screaming from the top of your lungs... you essentially classify all women punished for crimes as pussypass denied. Cool, got it.

This has nothing to do with pussypass. It is a metally disturbed /evil woman's horrible crime. It is heart breaking, but it is NOT what this sub is about. Just because it was a woman who did the crime, it does not belong here. Don't use this tragedy for your agenda.

Yeah. This is how science is done. You know what result you want and you do experiments to verify it. This is how we know gender studies are true sciences. /s

The problem is they are the ones setting the tone. See: The Guardians CiF section. Universities' Gender Studies. Etc, etc. Most feminists and most "normal" people can agree on the things you mentioned. The issue is that your movement has been taken over the radical fringe, and it does sweep into policy making, attitudes, etc. And you see (and experience) the blowback, too.

I would like to know that, too. I suspect this is just a storm in a teacup, and those toxic reviews were really just that: toxic reviews. Who had a chance to see the movie yet?

The thing is academia was toxic for my work-life balance, so I left. I did some civil service stuff, now I'm at a pharma company... the pay is not as good as I thought it would be (but still better than academia), there is actually a "life" part in the work-life balance stuff - so I am grateful for that. But I would love to do something that requires a little getting dirty, too.

Extremist ideological stance. Facts do not mean anything if they do not fit into his or her worldview. Obviously this attitude is something that is present only on the right, the right being defined as 'anybody who disagrees'. This is the new norm in our world of identity politics.

Pretty much. But then again, the idea of any part of the female anatomy might serve as a signal for male attention is quite an anathema for these "scholars". After all, how dare evolution objectify women!

The courts usually decide against the "father" in these cases, since they say it is in the interest of the child to have child support paid. Even if the person paying it is not the father. Because the interests of the guy paying for child support are inconsequential. Might as well pick a random dude in the crowd to shoulder the costs of child support, but I suppose the time is not right for these changes.

Also there would be so many more people alive in Vietnam, Cambodia, East Timor, Latin America and whatnot, if the US did not engage in different wars and supported genocidal dictators for the good of humanity. There was something similar with another US female celebrity. She has beaten up her boyfriend, and the papers were treating the whole thing as if it was her ordeal to go through the legal proceeding. Charges were dropped later by the way for similar reasons.

I agree. My point is the guardians attitude. Women=victims. I don't think the guys judged the same way got the same amount of sympathy. (Although it's difficult to know with the guardian. Being Muslim seems to be higher in their victim priority than being a woman, so who knows. Maybe they do express sympathy to all ISIS members. Although the people committing the injustice towards them are not white Europeans so I doubt it. As i said I just despise the guardians identity politics.) as for the wo…

I had a young, good looking Latin teacher in high school, who dated my 16 year old classmate. She was way too mature for us, yet in this situation people were not so understanding. Even though as I said you could make the case that girls tend to mature earlier than boys, and she most definitely was not a victim but a partner in a relationship. But yeah. I would have been happy to bang my hot teacher when I was a teenager. There is an obvious double standards in how we treat or even think of thes…
