My family is small, but I do feel a sense of responsibility to look out for people in close proximity to me. I'll stay near a woman's grocery cart if she left her purse in it just to make sure no one steals it. I'll keep an eye on children out in public if they've wandered away from their parents. I drive slow in residential areas in case anyone's cat or dog is on the road. When I walk with my boyfriend's grandfather I stay close in case I need to grab him if he trips. At work, we work with a bu…

Oh, yeah. I like that too. I still look back fondly on memories of when we first met though, our first dates and all the firsts. If I ever have to start all over with someone new though, it's an overwhelming thought to have to go through the getting to know each other phase again. I do sometimes wish I'd done things differently though in the first half of our relationship. I'm more level headed now that it's been 2.5 years, less of a people-pleaser, more confident. I think part of that was getti…

That's an interesting view. Why do you want to skip the first 2 years?

I'm not that kind, I'm just saying life sucks for a lot of people and there's not always a solution man. Gotta play the hand you're dealt. What do you prefer? I can't love every man. I've already been snatched up. I might offer hugs, and listen to your problems, but I can only give so much. I don't really have a response for your resentment about women using tax benefits or capitalism... This isn't really an economics subreddit.

My experience through a female's eyes in a small town in the US doesn't match what men here talk about their experience being. Maybe it's just growing up without an entitled mindset? or seeing my parents in nasty relationships and learning from their mistakes and realizing what truly mattered. But anyhow there will always be people with delusional standards. Instead of being kinda bummed about it, I see it as another filter to narrow down my list. Like if the guy I met was perfect except he does…

No I'm not saying that but thanks for asking so I could clear that bit up. I think that people of both genders should limit the amount of manipulation they do. But this advice once again was for men not women so why would I include women? Nothing good comes from assuming people's standpoints and getting worked up over something nonexistent

Yeah? Well I don't condone any of that. We're on the topic of advice to men though, so don't expect me to write a full fledged persuasive essay on why my logic is consistent. I think there's a lot of hypocrisy coming from women but that's not what this is about. I'm also not talking about manipulation in general, I'm talking about the harmful forms. Manipulating your hair to look a certain way doesn't hurt someone obviously... Negging someone in order to lower their sense of self worth is harmfu…

Do you want sex or do you want a stable relationship? For sex by all means lie and manipulate people if that's within your moral framework and the general advice to "be clean, honest, and respectful" isn't sufficient for you. But GOOD LUCK if you want a genuinely good committed relationship if you don't want to actually work on yourself and put in the effort. So figure out what you want, and what you're willing to do for it, and accept reality. do you want to be successful with "women" or with a…

And it's interesting how men seem to think that those princesses on TikTok are representative of how most women think. The women I know IRL do not care! beyond providing enough to pay bills, how much their husbands make, and LOVE when their husbands do considerate things for them. And a lot of these men are short, not particularly handsome, and yet their wives bring them lunch to work, and pay half the bills with their own jobs, and do most of the cleaning and childcare. This is from conversatio…

You know what's attractive? A man that takes rejection well and moves on and doesn't carry around baggage. I don't respect people that lie about wanting a relationship to get sex. This is why women encourage other women to wait months. It's counterproductive for men that want to start having sex early in a relationship. Classic hurt people hurting people to get their ego fix. thought experiment: imagine you are in the same shoes as women, and you are approached maybe 3x a week by men you aren't …

First I don't agree with the red pill theories on women's nature. I don't think red pill folks respect women much in general, it seems they choose to view women as wild animals rather than people with intelligence and empathy. I don't want any man I'm in a relationship with to have the outlook of: - it's just my turn, she's going to end up leaving me for someone taller/richer, woe is me, women are shallow bitches that don't truly love - if I treat her with any kind of respect or kindness or emot…

What about being the guy a girl dates for 2 weeks before hooking up? With my boyfriend we hung out every night we could get together, and it naturally progressed to sex after about our second week hanging out on his bed. We didn't go by any rules, we just wanted to know we were serious about each other, because the end goal was a LTR, we both wanted that. He's not desperate and dumb. And we were each other's firsts. And IMO boyfriend material is that sweet spot in the Venn diagram between "cool …

That's interesting but isn't it reasonable caution rather than baseless assumption? In practice though most adult people are treating each other with a baseline level of respect regardless of their biases. I hear ya, then again, hopefully you can be the man you want to be too, it isn't a one way street. After a while, you kinda just are who you are, it's hard to hide the parts of you that aren't pleasant, so you'll need to be with someone that will tolerate it. And again, you have the choice to …

I hear people say that in these online spaces but I really don't hear it IRL. If I do hear about women being praised it's about a specific woman we are on the subject of, being a good mother, or beautiful, or kind, or also the negative things women can be - a bitch, stupid, lazy, bad mother, bad wife. I hear it all, but I never hear someone saying they outright think women can do no evil. Of course I would prefer a woman be my gynecologist or friend, but not because I don't like men. I have noth…

Being a woman though, I haven't lost attraction to my man after they showed weakness, so I have to tell you that truth is not true for me. Can you blame me for then being skeptical about the validity of these claims. My belief is that everyone is different in their instincts, where men are slightly more motivated by one thing vs women motivated by something else. But that the behaviors of all people will be different. You can predict something but be wrong. So I think awareness is good but livin…

But it also makes you assume all women are incapable of self control and higher thinking - that they are all bound to cheat on you or think lowly of you for having your own emotions and weaknesses. It tells you not to allow yourself to trust women, to be vulnerable with them or give to them. Basically the opposite of what I think a relationship should be about. I think it should be reciprocation, alternating between selflessness and expectation rather than even trades. I think relationships are …

I don't think PUA and RP strategy help a man vet for good women, I think it helps men cope with bad women, with the expectation/acceptance of future betrayal and toxicity

We all slightly blame the opposite sex sometimes when we're frustrated, it's a coping mechanism. Just do better not to. I'm trying to do better too.

Well in that case the best thing he could take is getting himself out of that situation. I don't advise anyone to stay in toxic relationships, it does more harm than good, and not worth the sex. You're closing yourself off to other potentially better relationships by staying

I would argue that women with low number of sexual partners claiming to want men with low number as well are being honest - because sex is more easily attainable for women, that self control says that they probably value it for both themselves and their male counterparts. Have realistic expectations, don't be a hypocrite, keep your ego out of it, and you'll be good.

Don't we all take what we can get? Why isn't that okay? Why are other people's lives so relevant to yours? I'm 24 and my boyfriend doesn't care about marriage, so what I had to do is take a look at what value marriage has to us, and we decided that if we do it we'll do it for practical reasons and we won't make it more of a burden on us than a benefit. I'm taking what I'm getting and listening to what he feels and we're working out a life that fits with reality and is in both of our favor. And w…

I wrote my comment with the intention of reminding people that their lovability is not dependent on their looks, which is a pill that people deny exists - it must be rare and unattainable, it must not be love, or there must not be passion. I think everyone's a pussy to some degree, but I'm not turned off by that side of people, I'm caring and understanding I think. My boyfriend is quite an average dude. Not any more of a pussy than you or me.

In my only experience, being with only one man, it ebbs and flows and I notice it's mostly whenever he is mad, raising his voice and making offhanded comments when I'm the least attracted to him. I'm most attracted to him when we're having positive interactions, when he's considerate, affectionate, respectful, and putting in effort for us/for me/for himself.

I think it's silly, there's good guys everywhere. I've never been an outgoing person but I've ran into many goodlooking and friendly and funny men that I'd have given a chance if I wasn't already in a relationship. I think I'm an alright judge of character too, but obviously you never know until years into a relationship when toxic shit starts happening. But I've been with my boyfriend for 2 1/2 years, he is my first boyfriend, and I was 21 when we met. I think around age 15 I just realized that…

I think a lot of people don't care about how their baby grows up to look, they know they will love the child regardless. I'm conscious the traits I wouldn't want to pass down. I'm open to adoption. Boyfriend on the other hand would prefer us having our own children. Straight men are attracted to women, period. Same thing in reverse for straight women. A relationship is about the bond between 2 people, not the product of it.

I'm a woman, but no I will not have my future son circumcised. Boyfriend and I both agree on this.

My partner was obese when we met and he is now morbidly obese, and I'm very attracted to him anyways. I just want him to lose weight to be healthier for his well-being and so that he lives a long time with me without complications. So safe to say not a dealbreaker. I love him regardless. I've never been rude about his weight, and I'm especially annoyed by anyone that is. He doesn't seem to understand how I could find him attractive at his weight. Maybe I am an outlier. Other people seem to care …

Kind of, but also over time the initial ideal I had when I was single about what a perfect man looks like has blurred into irrelevance and indifference when I have the man I love. What matters more long term are mutual trust, respect, care, and effort. All those things make him the most attractive person in my world.
