After that meeting, I refused to be around her except in public and with my phone recording our conversation. Before she said that, I was willing to continue to pay her living expenses for a few more months so she could finish out the school year and was going to wait to divorce her for a few more months so she could get some medical issues taken care of while still on my insurance. That was long ago, long before our marriage ended. At the end, she did make a point of telling me that her mother was advising her to make false DV claims against me to gain leverage, and if I didn't want her to do that, I should give her more of what she wanted in the divorce.

I feel like a monster saying this, but my wife claims that she was raped as an infant at a daycare, as recovered from repressed memories at a therapist during her early childhood. Her mother has various mental problems and this was during the very late 80s, so I'm not so sure it ever really happened or if it was part of the whole satanic child abuse panic.

Are you familiar with digital logic? In digital logic, if a condition makes no difference to the outcome, it can be simplified out of the circuit. So, if switches A and B are part of a system, and B is the sole controller of the outcome, you could rebuild the system without switch A and it would still be the same. The interest of the child and the interests of the mother are inputs, yet the outcome reflects the best interests of the mother.
