Dam, you're getting downvoted to hell, but your are correct in many ways. Appropriate force should certainly be taken into account. I'm all for letting people get what's deserved, but if someone threatens you with a knife, a bullet shouldnt necessarily be the answer.

As the person below states, it is better to act above the situation that to stoop to the level of the shoplifter. His life was never in danger. using aggressive force to a man OR woman is unnecessary in this situation.

Completely agree. Everyone is saying he should go Stone Cold Steve Austin on her and the bystanders but he was a class act. Doing his job without injuring anyone. Simply detaining amd waiting for authorities. It would not have ended well (in the short term anyway) had he body slammed her.

Don't get me wrong because i ultimately agree with you. That being said, had he resorted to doing what you suggest, he basically stops to her level. The most level headed thing to do is defend but never attack. He is not a policeman. He is a security guard. I personally appreciated the fact that was able to keep his cool during this exchange. It makes him the bigger man.
