It only works a few times in the start. Now all I see in a different place are buildings and people. There are buildings and people in the city where I live as well. I'm unable to distinguish. Currently sitting in a cafe of a different city. There are just people around me. But I don't feel it any different from a cafe of my own city.

I'm the same as you. My advice would be to stop focusing on getting a partner, and start focusing on getting friends. Construct a social life. You'll start from the very first brick, and will keep building on top of it. During the process of this construction, you'll start feeling good about yourself.
