Tell me again - what’s the appeal of a romantic comedy or Jane Austen story like Pride and Prejudice?

Statues commemorate achievement or discovery. Instead of tearing those down, work on achieving and discovering something yourself, then you might earn your own statue.

Start taking back the power you gave up. It doesn’t have to be that way - just stand your ground on what you know to be true. The cage is all in your head.

There’s TWO things at play in a situation like this. Age and gender. Don’t confuse them. I’ll give up a bus seat to any elderly person - man or woman. Able-bodied though - first come, first served.

Did you ever look at the braincels subreddit? No, let me have a look... ok, sure, both genders rail against 'unfair beauty standards.' Doesn't refute my observations that most people do this at some point - boys and girls. if you make yourself ugly - then nobody will be attracted to you anymore, if nobody is attracted to you anymore, you'll be in safety. I doubt any woman would deface herself purely to avoid being raped. Average looking women are still lusted over. Average looking guys are not, …

Evolution isn’t the problem. It’s that we made a society where strength isn’t necessary or respected. Now anyone can get by with looks and a credit card.

I will admit this sub is a slap in the face at first so I say let them troll and get their asses handed to them by logic. The only time anyone gets chastised/downvoted here is when they try to dictate what is / isn’t the right way to live.

Women often get to a point where they wonder “is this the best man I can get” - where “best” equals strongest and most able to protect and provide by being intimidating to other men. I suspect something like that is occurring to her in this case.

I often wonder if the posters who get called out (as in "Yes, you're the asshole") reflect on their actions and reconsider their actions? Wouldn't that be the purpose of posting in YTA? To find out if you're wrong? Turns out, no she's comfortable with her asshole status.

Either partner can end a relationship for any reason, any time. No one needs to justify anything to any third party. It’s their business and between them.

Because in most cases, you the son were her golden boy who could do no wrong - she would have treated you like a prince and concealed all her nature from you so you grow up unaware of her dark side. But your dad knows it. Sons get special treatment because moms imagine sonny will be taking care of them financially alongside hubby. But they forget the thot lurking in the wings to undo all that with sex. Which is why mothers in law and daughters in law don’t get along.
/r/MGTOW06/04/19 08:45 AM

Yep - you can make all the sense in the world espousing a position, but as soon as you slap a label on that position (say mgtow) you will be saddled with all the baggage they have about that label. Same with most aspects of life. The Left, The Right, The Atheist, The Vegan. As soon as you label your position, your reasons for it go out the window and we’re divided. Focus on Reason.

Women walk around the world frequently in a state of fear. They known they can’t fight off a serious attack. They like rough, intimidating looking men because they mainly want protection - they expect the thug will be a burly threat to everyone but them.
/r/MGTOW03/04/19 04:38 AM

What these moms never see coming is the claw sharpening harpy who will become their boys wife. This is largely why wives and mothers-in-law don’t get along - they know their true nature and intentions.

Women have a major "blue pill" phase in their early development where they imagine the Disney princess outcome is real and possible. When they realise no real man can actually live up to this fantasy, they feel cheated, lied to and entitled to "more". So they go looking for more on the side. Not science - just my opinion and I'm talking in very broad terms.

I think it's something not often discussed here : the bodyguard principle. Imagine being weak and vulnerable, afraid of every dark street, every sound of footsteps behind you, all your life, everywhere you go. A brutal looking, intimidating thug - if he cares enough about you - will intimidate other guys and defend you. So they offer themselves to the thug, not the brainiac or humanitarian. That's gotta be attractive to someone who believes they're the damsel in distress. I think the bodyguard t…

I've nothing to say about the legal aspects of pre nups but I always thought there was one revealing aspect about the way women react when pre nup is brought up. The usual response is "that's so cynical - our marriage will last and isn't about money." To which I figure - well if that's your position, and this union isn't about money, you should have no problem signing it.

Jealous they're not attractive so overcompensating by uglifying and raging about "unrealistic beauty standards." Classic sour grapes. Attractive women rarely complain about beauty standards - they just enjoy the privilege. Males in this situation get on with skills, hobbies and a trade.

If I could impart one trait to my daughter that'd be it. Value something other than your SMV and the validation of others. And if you want to eschew the whole wife and mother thing that's fine too, but learn a relevant skill, and contribute by working or start a passion enterprise. Real gender equality.

Men: no drama = peace. Women: no drama = boring. To a woman, drama is preferable to boredom. Men prefer peace, and so relent on stuff they should push back on. But, give em just a little drama in the moment and they'll know you give a shit and won't be pushed around. Most of the problems in relationships can be solved with a bit of push-back and a spine.

Recordings are inadmissable if either party doesnt know/agree to it. Thats why every service phone call starts with "this call will be recorded for training and verification purposes" by continuing the call, you're agreeing to the recording. cause what are you gonna do at that point? hang up? So even a recording needs "consent" How that card might be useful is in the mind of the woman when first initiating things.

I agree 100%. We shall see... My concern is that the main means of achieving said goal appears to be the suppression of neuro-psychological motives-that are primarily beyond the control of the intellect-by means of the intellect. So if I understand all those lofty words, you object to MGTOW taking the instinctual, emotional behaviors of women and boiling them down into quantified, rational observations? But if those behaviors are demonstrably shown to recur again and again, in different location…
/r/MGTOW29/08/18 09:31 AM
2

So you know this behaviour goes on with your logical, conscious mind, yet you have a desire for relationships. Which do you think is the more reliable, accurate depiction of how a lifelong relationship will be? Your logical mind + experience or your desire that wishes it to be a different way?

That's a big list of what-if's there. You're describing bizzaro opposite-world, not just "something slightly different" from ours. I mean "no leftist values??" that's half the political spectrum of ideas there. But I think as a thought experiment - yeah, there would be a lot less MGTOW and women would probably rein in their worst behaviour. But you're describing a borderline Vulcan society.
/r/MGTOW28/08/18 03:05 PM
2

Lets do some socratic questioning, Codrean... When you say "if I think logically I don't want one", why not?
/r/MGTOW28/08/18 02:58 PM
11

Do this instead - focus on yourself, exercise, get in shape, eat well, start building up your bank account, and forget about women. You watch - they'll flock to the more successful you. Just remember how much they cared about you before all that.
/r/MGTOW28/08/18 02:56 PM
3

It's like this - even you admit there's a very small chance of getting involved with a less-than-balanced harpy. MGTOW have decided to take that small chance to 0%, that's all. Does that make sense to you, OP? Or, let me ask you this: Would you be comfortable telling a little girl her only options in life are to be a wife and mother? Or would you tell her she can chart any course she wants? When you have that answer, apply the same thing to guys. Problem with that?

In past ages, being the physically superior gender garnered respect. For better or worse, we've created a society where physical strength is no longer a respected attribute, it's feared. Emotional maturity and projecting confidence are - women have this naturally but most men either haven't caught on yet, or have had that pride in physical strength beaten out of them by a gradual daily lifetime of programming.

It's from an Aussie newspaper blog called "All Men are Liars." Author decided to post the truth as he saw it in the dating game, hence the title. We've built a society thats so comfortable, safe and decadent, that the attributes of men - strength, logic, reason are no longer necessary for survival (where they were in the wilds before civilisation). So those attributes need no longer be respected. We built women a kingdom of gold and they took the keys saying "thanks, I'll take it from here."

If you do decide to give them an interview and they ask you to explain MGTOW, don't talk about female nature - it'll be used against you. Rather explain it from the feminist perspective: You: "...for example, do you agree we should allow girls to choose their own path in life, and not shoehorn them into traditional wife & mother roles if they want to take other paths - career, travel etc?" Them: "Of course." You: "Sure - then equally, the same applies to boys - and that's all MGTOW is essentiall…

Consider early humans, foraging, hunting, farming etc. Strength is a benefit in this society. Masculinity is a valued trait. Fast forward thousands of years and our accumulated comforts and advancements have created a world (for better or worse) where physical strength is not required to flourish. Ive read that the human brain is actually more like two brains than a single organism - each governing different aspects of a personality - one more primal, the other more logical. Travelling is best done to appreciate other lifestyles, to see how 'the other half lives' and in doing all that, broaden your horizons and make you more appreciative of the things you have, rather than to wallow in what you dont. All that combined is character building. But you dont get any of that if you stick to westernized mega-hotels and shopping malls when you go overseas. Go off the trail, avoid the tourist-traps, keep your wits about you and travel can be really fulfilling.

The best explanation I read is that MGTOW is that it's a decision made from a position of peace. That way, nothing escalates beyond cordial and rage-free interactions with women. If women still rile you up, they're still under your skin and you're not mgtow, just pissed off. The discussion about what mgtow is should just start and end with this: Do you believe that when it comes to career & family, women have the right to choose their way in life? If you can shake off the veneer of bullshit that society has laid on about women, you ought to be able to do the same with religion. Sitcom characters are one-dimensional gag-deliverers. You wont find a 'role model' for any lifestyle that works long term in the real world. Real people are more complex than that. But yes most males are blue pill on tv for the sake of the story. (Theres no arc about consistency so a mgtow character would probably be a wacky sidekick or non-central character.)
