the conspiracy sub has a lot of information. they are also talking about bill nye, who is promoting lots of questionable things. btw, our favourite oligarch soros is now a major shareholder of netflix.

Great post with a nice metaphor for mindfullness. I think Cernovich had a different spin on it. He proposes to tell yourself: "there is no place i would rather be, there is no one i would rather talk to" Makes me much more aware of my surroundings and i become more charismatic as a consequence. The difference is to be actually interested in your environment or as you put it "switching of autopilot".

I just talked to a girl about her ex. She sad she had to "make something" out of their breakup. So she decided to just always be happy and positive. She needs "progress" as you call it Your post strongly resonates with me. Sometimes its easier to graps a concept if you connect it to the big picture and use your own allegory. appreciate it

“Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own.” - Bruce Lee this also applies to your father. My dad is weak man, who basicly gave up on life after he lost his job and retreated into alcohol and fantasy books. He is trying to escape from reality now. I still learned the basics of stoicism, fishing and how to crack a joke from him.

Check out your cervical spine. Especially your atlas, which is your first vertebra. If there is something wrong with it, it can cause a lot of problems with your body and even depression. I have this issue and i am currently trying to fix it completely. I might do a whole post about it but you can check out a lot of information online. http://www.marieatlas.co.uk/testimonals2.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh_GV4C1STQ

i totally agree with your advice. i would like to add that you are basicly talking about mental mastery of your "mindset", wich is a difficult concept to understand. i recommend the stuff of mike cernovich, he talks about it in great depth and frames it a bit differently.

branch out and try new things: fitness: try a different sport or a different aspect of fitness. So if you do a lot of lifting, maybe try to get into mobility/yoga and see where that takes you. its good for your posture and body awareness, which also has something spiritual to it. reading: read the classics and learn from them. all the books you know of but never read. start with something, that suits your interests. for me thats philosophy and history so i have nietzsche and homer on my reading …

check your imbalances in your traps, neck and shoulders. do regular neck circles, stretch your pecs and biceps, do something for your thoraric spine (like downward dog from yoga) and give this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA3O0NVb-sk a try

For a lot of people it requires more work to fix their posture than simply being aware of it and doing facepulls. For anyone who is struggling with it, i recommend to check out the work of elliot hulse and kelly starret. Also check this: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/posture-power-how-to-correct-your-body-alignment.html I generally dont like bodybuilding.com, but this article provides a good assesment technique for your posture.

I´m contemplating the same issues as i want to start MMA. i think you have to combine it as it fits. for example i plan to change my lifting to a minimalist approach where i only do weighted dips/chin ups, deadlifting and some isolation exercises.

I really appreciate your post. The simple fact, that other guys are not just superior beings but had a headstart in the learning curve gives me the right perspective. We just have to catch up, and we can do it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
