My ex didn't have a lawyer. The only things I noticed it affected her by was she missed out on a few things she could of gotten like alimony and she could of stayed on my insurance longer. Don't leave the house under no circumstances, it's your house to, tell her to leave if she wants away from you so bad. Since you live in a no fault state, all that cheating won't play a factor. Lawyer up and go with a game plan from there.

Also divorce in real life isn't like the movies or tv shows. If you have to pay alimony, it won't be for forever, she'll end up with only half of what you earned in your 401k while you were married. She'll end up with half the money you two saved and if you try and hide some, if she gets a good lawyer it may be found. Your debt will probably be seperated by who owes who. Hopefully she gets a bad lawyer and a lot of things might get missed.

Ideally whoever gets served first, will have an emergency court order against them. Whatever is on that order you or her will have to follow until you two go in front of a judge. All accounts can be frozen, can't leave the state with children, she can have temporary full custody etc etc. Beat her to the punch and have her served first. Doesn't mean anything in the long haul but it can give you a nice head start.

First I get a lawyer and fight for joint custody. Second if the court order says you get your kids every other weekend, if it says a certain time you get them, then that time must be on the dot or she's in contempt. One thing the courts hate more than anything is when parents play games. Document everything and take her ass back to court.

Marriage means what is yours is also hers. I don't know if she can add herself, but if she gets a good lawyer, she can get on it, even after the divorce is final. I learned this the hard way. After my ex and I separated I tried to take her off my insurance, they told me unless I had a court order, I couldn't do it. I had to wait until the divorce was finalized and they needed to see the paperwork to make sure it states she has to be off it.

Don't be to overly cocky about getting 100% custody of the kids. There must be some bad skeletons in order to do so. Keep this in mind. Chances are she's having an affair. Depending on the state you live in, that may or may not matter during divorce. I live in a no fault state and my wife had an affair and even got pregnant by the man and the court didn't care about the cheating.
