Yeah, the legal system isn't really geared around large payouts / suings. It's very rare.

That's not what I'm saying. He's requesting 20k in compensation, and the law makes her pay for all his legal fees, they are two separate things.

He's asking for 20000 SEK as compensation. She has been convicted of Grov falsk beskyllning. This is by swedish law punishable by a minimum of 6 months in prison up to 4 years. I think you're right. Societal change takes time and rarely is completely replaces past culture over the course of 1 generation. I think people are too eager for change to occur, even as it's changing at a rapid pace. Same as with any phenomenon that occurs very gradually - we don't notice it until we compare with how something was a long time ago. Humans are incredibly bad at seeing gradual change without "assistance".

That's a little beside the point. The point of such an article is not to attempt to turn people that are very resistant to change in opinion. Nor is it good for preaching to the choir, as it'd be unnecessary and may lead to stronger confirmation bias. However it is useful in making arguments to convince people in the middle - that can be swayed by good arguments.

Harvard Study Destroys the Gender Pay Gap Myth What a dishonest title. It is only for one area of occupation and does not deal with all occupations. Edit: Not saying the Gender Wage gap does exist, but a study of one area of occupation is not a complete refutation.

If you accept the actions and results as uncontrollable past events (as in not being able tochange them after the fact). Then you can not forgive the person and still hold them accountable while moving on and being unencumbered by anger or sadness. Moving on doesn't require forgiving.

It might be a good thing to have a potentially flipped advocate. But to wish something bad upon another person for not sharing your view is not a good way to convincing someone of said view. If you want change, you can't behave like the ones you criticise.

What? There's good evidence on differences in risk taking behaviour between men and women. Young men are far overrepresented in risk taking behaviour, including driving recklessly. Can't say for all countries, but in Sweden it's pretty clear there's a sex difference. https://www.trafa.se/globalassets/statistik/vagtrafik/vagtrafikskador/2017/vagtrafikskador-2017-blad.pdf

People are making a correlation between muslim extremism (rise in public view due to terrorism & IS etc.) and the increase in numbers of attacks: 'Acid attacks have occurred in the UK for 200 years', Aljazeera. This is also a good article about the situation in the UK: 'Everything you know about acid attacks is wrong', BBC.

They are conniving, lying, cheating, deceiving, back stabbing, colluding, bitches that pretend to be innocent snowflakes. That sounds pretty salty dude. There are a lot of bad apples out there, but saying what you are saying is pretty much the opposite side of the coin of calling masculinity toxic. For sure, there are a bunch of shitheads out there, but being so negative about either gender is too salty. It's worth considering that saying such things might be the reason why mens rights gets such…

I'm sorry but this isn't really a mensrights issue. This is purely antifeminist. Unless you're under the assumption that all the accused are male, which is a pretty poor assumption.

I am a Swedish young man, mid 20's, so I may be able to answer this to an extent. During my primary education in Sweden there was no enforcement of feminism in school - although there has always been a underlying push for equality. In later years through reading and research I understand that Sweden is already excellent in wage equality, when looking at normalised wages - so there definitely is something to say for awareness as I'm sure wages in early 1900's were fucked. I do however believe tha…

Speaking as a Swede, this is true to an extent. You do have a minority of men in the "self-hatred" camp. The majority fall into the category of simply being for evening out the playing field by using quotas and subsidies to even out wage gaps and gender inequalities. These are mostly misguided persons due to false information. Some of this information is from the state - which I believe is a sort of moral compass for many Swedes. Ideology is in Sweden has a strong connection to the loss of relig…

It's true - but the only other (reasonable) option is bluntness by simply removing the first sentence. I think the sorry part is also partly culturally contextual. Some places thanks/sorries are not commonplace like they are in others.

"Feminism is the very reason you have no rights. You have a lot to learn about the world you live in." False. There have been male specific issues long before feminism, such as male disposability. "[I'm not a hateful person]" I'm not the one having to do the convincing here. "You need some kind of rudimentary re-education program just to learn basic life skills, language and writing. No offense but that statement demonstrates you're incredibly stupid." Ad hominem, really? "You're either working …

Saying that there is no truth or reason behind feminism is very ignorant. I think you are wrong in assuming that MRM is anything but working for MENS RIGHTS - not against feminism. If feminism does infringe upon mens rights, then certainly there will be a response. But saying the MRM is exclusively an anti-feminist movement is a perversion of what the base ideals that MRM entails. "And last but not least, I'm not the one who HATES, it is WOMEN. Get it straight." Sure as hell doesn't sound like i…

There is quite some evidence of differences in gay and trans persons brain anatomy (compared to control groups). Most likely due to hormonally triggered epigenetic changes during fetal development. I strongly suggest you read up on the research on trans. It's a very interesting topic, and I think you would be surprised by the fact that the evidence quite clearly shows that there most definitely are factors that could explain why people have sex-dysmorphia. Simply saying: "All of them are a bunch…

There are some extremists, as with everything but the vast majority of the adversities MRM faces from opposing idealists are not from the extremes. I bet that if you spoke to the median woman - you would find that they are most likely not manhating, but rather ignorant of male discrimination and/or find it of lesser harm than the discrimination toward women. I think that the main issue at hand is that there is a disregard for men in many aspects, but not hate. It's like a subtle yet tangible typ…

Unfortunately he seems to be a very uncharismatic person, which really hurts his ability for gaining support. Having a way to emotionally engage people, to make them feel compassion and care for loved ones (50% of the population) is a good way of doing just that. Unfortunately I saw none of that from him.

Not necessarily. I think it's reasonable that a person with strong distrust for a certain sex/gender (?) due to recurring violent acts commited to them by ex: spouse and/or parents might end up feeling much more comfortable around speaking to a person of the opposite sex/gender (?) of their offenders. As in I might be more comfortable speaking to a man if I am being beat on by my girlfriend than with another woman about it. (and vice versa gender-swapped)

Cheers. This doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't living together monogamously, but just aren't married (legally). Although that might be less common in the US than here. There's no real, legal/tax, incentive to get married versus having a registered partnership here (Sweden). That combined with the fact that the majority is atheist, many simply don't get married. Ah yes, I was referring to the "Romeo and Juliet" laws. I didn't know that the consentual age limit was more commonly 16 as there seem to be a lot of links flying around speaking of minors (in the 16-18 range) being the victims of statutory rape (per definition of the other party being over 18).

You do understand that a arbitrary legal age limit does not function as a perfect estimation of personal maturity (physical and mental). I see absolutely no problem in two persons making an educated decision in having consentual sex, even if they are of different age. At the age of 15 I would not see it as wrong if I had sex with a woman older than me. As long as I took the necessary precautions for safe-sex. Which leads to the point of having sexual education. People will have sex, just make su…

Patriachy a. an institution or organization in which power is held by and transferred through males. b. the principles or philosophy upon which control by male authority is based. This is where I find the idea of patriachy problematic. Yes, there are still patriachical societies, but mainly in western countries it is not so much patriachy as it is kyriarchy. That it is historically men that have been in a position of power does not mean that men are the source of the oppression, or disposition o…

That's a very interesting comment. I personally find it more important WHY one feels like one does, if it is causing issues for others. Please do not generalise about something that is blatantly untrue. Not all women see it like this. There are many aware women that are working and thinking along egalitarian lines of thought. Your statement is not helpful. It could have been if you were specific and said "these women". Gender-dispise goes both ways, so please stop doing it toward women if you want to be treated the same way. Mensrights is not about being sexist, it's about equal rights and treatment - think about it.

Many times it is not about what, but about how. Is he passionate about the subject? Does he involve others in the topic? Does it make people go "huh, I never thought of that" or "that's really interesting"? I can talk to people that are complete non-nerds/geeks and still get them engaged in an interesting topic that I am passionate about. Take this with a pinch of salt. Sure, but I am at the same time intrigued by the guide as it describes the process of social interaction in a way which is more digestible toward socially inept people. If you need a boost to your confidence. Think of your ancestors. Every single one of your ancestors has lived long enough to successfully have sex with another to produce offspring.
