If she's an attractive friend, then yes, a beautiful woman being associated with you is as good as it gets for making women get interested in you and jealous that you're engaging someone else and not them. If she's beat, then you'd be better off going solo, putting yourself next to a 5 when you're an 8 isn't going to help even if she's a woman.

What don't you like about negging? Obviously some women (usually ones with daddy issues) won't take kindly to being playfully made fun of, but I've found that you can usually throw in an easy insult "Did you copy your haircut from Skrillex?" that isn't going to offend so much.
